  1. He's still commemorating Memorial Day, just not at Arlington. Who decided it had to be at Arlington, when, and why? It's not like every president has done it that way for every Memorial Day there has been (I'm not sure of the year it started). There would be no faux outrage if the president was a Republican right now. It's really not even worth addressing actually.
  2. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 31, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) Evil motherf***ing Republicans. You're finally coming around, Kap
  3. lol, Netanyahu knows how that meeting is going to go and doesn't want to hear it
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2010 -> 10:31 PM) BTW, I bash drudge enough for ridiculous headlines. This qualifies. Katrina killed nearly 2000 people. What moron came up with that page. All of Huffpo's headlines are ridiculous.
  5. The less attention given to these guys the better
  6. I mean, they are making it sound like he blew off Memorial Day entirely.
  7. He's going to Lincoln National Cemetery instead... seriously, what's the difference?
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 30, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) Celtics all the way. If only because KG is one of my 5 favorite players of this era. who now happens to be a twat
  9. Sitting the Finals out... another Celtics-Lakers series is like watching the Yankees win the World Series.
  10. I'm kind of reminded of reading about how Marge Schott said she didn't understand why saying "Japs" was offensive. It doesn't work that way, something is offensive because people are actually offended by it. Then you can't just turn around and say something about "politically correct freedom of speech" (no such thing btw and if someone disagrees with me I would like them to show me where they are supported in the actual text of the 1st Amendment) when someone faces consequences for being an asshole/racist/etc.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) Boy you just love doing that. Didn't say that. I highlighted the Mexican holiday part. That should have zero relevance to the previous poster's point about students wearing Mexican colors/flags/etc being seen in the same way. It's the equivalent of Americans wearing red, white and blue and american flags on July 4th in other countries. Why should that date have any significance to them? In fact, i'm sure it would go over real well in England. I went trolling in a UK chat room once when I was still an obnoxious teenager and most of them had no idea what the hell I was talking about, lol. Somebody eventually went "oh, I think that's their independence day over there" and they thought I was being friendly and told me happy independence day. Trolling attempt = fail.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 29, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) Some men prefer Caucasian women to African-American women. It doesn't make them wrong or right. It just is. Now, when you are stuck choosing between Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg, you should probably choose abstinence; it's just too bad the White Sox have had both. $$$$$
  13. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 29, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) No. Most NHL defenses are way better then this. Yeah, like I can't really identify WHY exactly it was bad because I'm not educated enough, but you usually know s*** defense when you see it.
  14. I hardly ever watch hockey but I tuned in to this game - is the Hawks defense always that poor?
  15. QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ May 29, 2010 -> 09:43 PM) Sanchez, then buehrle, then Jimenez, then Braden, then Halladay Yeah that pace just makes no sense... awesome
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) It's exactly that attitude that I think is going to wind up with a serious labor dispute costing game time in 2011. Yeah, they think the gravy train is never going to end. It's more like a bubble, to use an oversimplifying cliche.
  17. How many no-hitters have there been since Buehrle threw his perfect game (not counting Braden)? I can think of Jimenez but hasn't there been another?
  18. Switched to ESPN assuming they'd have a look-in, and indeed they do
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:10 AM) Turning this into an American political argument for government regulation or for power to business is ridiculous. When you dig through all the reasons (and I will cite some below), what it comes to is human rights in China...and they have none. This has everything to do with the way the Chinese do things, the way their governments do things, and the lack of rights of their people and what they have to do to survive in such conditions. There is give and take in everything, and that includes the fact that they're willing to take these jobs. As Americans we want our computers, iPhones, Androids, TV's, etc...and we want them as cheap yet as high quality as possible. And it's unfair of me to say "Americans" in regard to this because any non 3rd world nation benefits from these cheaper prices, including the Eurozone, Canada, etc...so it's not just an American thing helping cause this. Take that 2,000$ plasma television and make it here instead...whoops, now it's a 5,000$ television. No thank you, Sony is selling that same technology for 60% less! While this sucks, and is bad, as someone said above, it's like pissing into the wind. Why? Because if it weren't for such sweat shop jobs, these people would have no jobs, and would simply starve to death (such as many are), or turn to child prostitution (which is big there) because their government wouldn't jump to help them. Next up in this -- India. But hey, it's ok...they own 850Billion of American debt and their economy is growing at a pace never before seen!@$#@! Every now and again you say something I endorse completely... lol
  20. I was hoping this was how the Supreme Court could rule. And it was unanimous, at that. The NFL doesn't really care about its consumers and takes them for granted because they aren't going anywhere and tries to extend that as far as it possibly can, so it's nice to see the NFL get slapped in the face every now and again.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 27, 2010 -> 10:43 AM) The Republicans are going to attempt to Filibuster the Defense Department allocation bill because they hate the troops are unwilling to give anyone in the Pentagon final say over DADT. Supposedly, Jim Webb has said he'll vote against the proposal in committee, no word yet on whether he'd support a Filibuster as far as I can see. If they could hold together the usual 40, minus Susan Collins plus Jim Webb, they could have 41 votes. I wonder if Cindy McCain got a "cold chill down her spine" this time
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 27, 2010 -> 11:00 PM) One of the reasons I like Ozzie so much is whenever he speaks I end up agreeing with what he says. If he was throwing the ball well he would be getting the job done. That is an oxymoron
  23. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 27, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) does not compute
