  1. QUOTE (T R U @ May 10, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) Its not also his fault, its ALL his fault He does not, in any way at all, have to take orders from Ozzie.. Period.. Ozzie can suggest and ask for anything he wants.. if Kenny listens to him and does it and it fails well, sorry KW but maybe you should have done things your way instead.. Yeah see that's not even really what I'm saying. Obviously it's KW's fault that we have too many s***ty players on the roster. It's not KW's fault or Ozzie's fault that guys like Buehrle, Floyd, Peavy, Quentin, Beckham, AJ, etc. are underperforming badly or otherwise sucking hot ass. I said that Ozzie should not be let off the hook for this, because Ozzie has shown over the past couple of years, independently of KW, that he is a moron. There is no reason to ever bat a player like Vizquel or Kotsay higher than 7th. None. But this is the type of s*** Ozzie does every other day.

    Craig's List

I need to get rid of a coffee table, and I don't even care how much I get for it, they just have to come get it.
  3. Bobby reminds me of Joe Borowski and Todd Jones from a couple years ago right now, except not as good.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 9, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) I thought Terrence Howard was the one that split. I don't remember. My understanding from the headlines I browsed was something like Howard wanted more money and Paramount (or whoever) said no so he left.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 9, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) Dumping Terrence Howard was a bad idea, though. Yeah, it was. Terrence Howard >> Don Cheadle in that role

Don't let anyone's comments in this thread keep you from seeing Iron Man 2.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 9, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) That kinda sounds to me like it would be the job of some other type of manager, possibly a "general manager" who would be in charge of general off the field baseball decisions. They should try it out See post #51
  8. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ May 9, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) Good point. KW was actively seeking a Left handed stick with a high OBP for the DH spot but Ozzie told him ''no i like this team the way it is." And it's fair to say it's also KW's fault for giving this cockamamie-assed idea the time of day.
  9. Let's not let Ozzie off the hook just because there are s***ty players on the roster... they are the s***ty players he wanted and before the season started he said something to the effect that he is the one accountable if it doesn't work out. He campaigned for the idea of a rotating DH with below-average hitters and hits these guys in the top half of the lineup... etc.
  10. I mostly agree with 2K5's arguments in the last few pages, not necessarily on ideas for solutions, but at least on cause/effect type of stuff.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 8, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) And the Yankees are pretty much in the same boat. 20-8 overall, 19-4 in games not started by Vazquez, getting great starting pitching besides Vazquez and scoring runs despite Teixeira not hitting at all, Nick Johnson not hitting at all, Granderson struggling and ARod hitting well below his capabilities. Those two teams are by far and away the class of the AL. I just looked thinking Vazquez may have gotten better since I last noticed but his ERA is flirting with 10. Can't say that was unexpected...
  12. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ May 9, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) Guillen says lots of things. Until he starts playing Vizquel more, I don't believe a word of it. Also, why NOT play Vizquel when he could easily be replacing someone who is playing s*** baseball too? At this point, what's the difference between him and half our team? I don't think Ozzie is just saying that, I think he actually believes it.
  13. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 9, 2010 -> 01:19 AM) Woah woah woah. Let's let him have more than 2 good starts before we say its a good deal. Especially meaningful starts and not when you are 7.5 games back. It's a lot easier to pitch when you are pretty much out of it. It is good that he's put two dominant starts together. Let's hope we can get him back to a place where he can show us what he's got when it counts. I'm not going so far to say that you, or anyone else, is actually upset that Peavy is pitching great the last couple of weeks or would rather see him fail because that would be a dumb thing to say. But you can't say anything now the same way it was ridiculous to overreact when he started the season like s***. Especially because he wasn't the only bad starter on this team at that point. Just the worst and not even by a whole lot. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 9, 2010 -> 02:16 AM) The point is you can't really say ANYTHING about the deal thus far. ding ding ding. Come talk to me some time in 2011.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 8, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) Which it was sooooo premature for people to say we lost that deal four starts into 2010. Our two big pickups from last year still look pretty darn good. It's the guys we counted on coming back that have been f***ing up. There are a lot of mea culpas going to be owed at this rate. I haven't seen any so far. I guess I shouldn't be expecting to see any either, though.
  15. They didn't even bother putting all the games on the DVD like they did for the Red Sox, I really doubt they'd bother making a HD version.
  16. Those damn things always go up after I leave work on Friday. Faisal Shahzad added Car Bombs to his Interests. Faisal Shahzad added Nissan Pathfinder to his Favorite Cars. Faisal Shahzad tagged himself in a photo: Me boarding plane to Dubai!! Al-Qaida We never say this, but … we don't even want credit for this. bahahahaha
  17. Red Cubs fans really are obnoxious though... it's like they think they're the Yankees after 2004.
  18. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Everyone needs to remember that we have last at bats. This game is far from over. good call I suppose
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:10 PM) Canadians are weird. Whats with the two adults wearing the green body suits with their faces covered. One dude is doing a headstand in his seat and the other is doing some sort of mime trick. Weird. Watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia or just look up "green man" on Youtube
  20. Somebody posted this on Facebook. I lol'd. I propose that the Democrats change their emblem to a JackAss with a CONDOM. It more accurately reflects their stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks (who live like Republicans), and gives you a false sense of security while you're actually being screwed.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 7, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a holiday held on May 5 that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.[2][3] It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States.[4][5][6][7] Thanks wikipedia! But yeah that incident is retarded. Yeah one Mexican state... lol... but some dumbass thinks it's insensitive to Mexicans to wear a shirt with an American flag on it in the United States on Cinco de Mayo. I thought it was kind of funny actually.
  22. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ May 7, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) They dont have any rights, really. Piracy is in a deadzone between war, crime and terrorism; does the Geneva Convention apply to Piracy? Prosecuting piracy is pretty straightforward, the laws are like 150 years old and haven't changed much if at all.
