  1. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 11:54 AM) Not me, I would rather see him stay healthy and play poorly and put the Vikings in a real uncomfortable position. (In fact, I think this is a realisitc possability.) He's old and s***ty... this kills 2, maybe even 3 birds with one stone. This is also an acceptable outcome. I'm not sure if he can do more damage to his legacy.
  2. Being the mod of this forum and all I won't write my true feelings on this, but if you want to know and are Facebook friends with me, take a look at my current status.
  3. Let me put it this way - I'm not wishing injury on him, but if someone destroyed his ACL I would not be upset.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 10:34 AM) Let 'em carry. I think its pathetic and cowardly - they obviously can't get their point across in any other way, so they resort to intimidation via weaponry, the hallmark of someone who has already lost. But its perfectly legal, so, let 'em be. You start trying to take their guns away, and you end up making things much, much worse. I feel like they have every right to do it if the state allows it, but at the same time, why? It's so obnoxious. Yeah, I get it. You support 2A rights. You're also an attention whore. Now I'm walking around in public with my kids and I don't want to take my eyes off you.
  5. Strength of the majority? Umm, you mean like democratic processes? What the f***?
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) Like the various liberal/ dem protests during the Bush admin., its a disjointed group with many little factions all with their own views on what's really important. Yeah, it's really annoying.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) They reported on GMA this morning that no one was arrested, which is strange. They also reported that Obama gets as many threats as both Bush and Clinton did at this stage of their Presidency. It's completely legal in Arizona.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) The 2nd is as valid as the 1st. Asserting 2A rights is fine by me, but how about a little coherence? What the f*** are you actually protesting? Pick one, damn.
  9. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 08:25 AM) So Boras got his client 50% more than the previous record. And some people would not want him representing them in negotiations. GMs love you guys. I think anybody would want Boras representing them. From a fan perspective he's still really obnoxious though. And sometimes his strategy really does backfire.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 08:31 AM) I get so sick of hearing Lovie, Turner and Angelo constantly spewing the company line of "We like what we have." No you don't. You just have to say that. You heard Darryl Drake actually talking s*** to the media about how they can't find something wrong with his WRs? lol, let's wait until a few games into the season of non-s***ty production, you asshole. What does Drake have to show for his work anyway? Bernard Berrian?
  11. I like Nix but come talk to me when he's developed some consistency at the plate. Power is nice but an average in the .220s is not (OPS be damned, this isn't Jim Thome, you can see the effects too many Nix-like players has on this offense).
  12. I like Nix but come talk to me when he's developed some consistency at the plate. Power is nice but an average in the .220s is not.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 11:42 PM) Lillibridge not for Alexei.. but for Nix. Outstanding. The f***? Why? That's a downgrade, not an upgrade.
  14. Ugh WHAT THE f***, I turn my attention to my homework for a few minutes and I look up to be reminded that SCOTT LINEBRINK IS STILL f***ING HORRIBLE. They were winning when I stopped paying attention. :suicide:
  15. You're a Nats fan aren't you Cubano? What are your thoughts on this?
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 05:49 PM) I weould rtather rate the team as a whole as it is a team game. The Sox defense sucks! I am not sure if that is an official choice when grading the team but it's true You know it's bad if elrock is pissed about it... lol
  17. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) If that's what happens, he'd better hope that he doesn't have a down season, lose velocity, or suffer an arm injury. He's seriously stupid if he doesn't sign. His value is likely higher now than it'll ever be. Ever heard of Matt Harrington? Pretty much a textbook example of what not to do.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) Isnt Huff at this point a 1B or 3b? Who is he going to replace? Inge or Cabrera? I cant see them replacing Raburn in the outfield, that would be disastrous defensively. Even if you replace Inge with Huff at 3rd, the guy is a butcher IIRC It doesn't matter, he sucks either way in the field.
  19. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) While that's true, Bolt is not a dime a dozen. First, he is as tall as any NFL wide receiver. Second, he has better speed than any wide receiver. Just let him run go routes and if the defense plays deep on him, drop a short pass to him. It's not as easy as it sounds. Not that he can't do it, but that's a lot to learn. Plus he'd have to bulk up, and his acceleration isn't actually anything special either.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) The big thing I noticed is how much more comfortable Jay is around pressure and in the pocket. It is beautiful to see. He made a couple very nice throws and a couple horrible throws. For a first preseason game I was fine with it and I'm thrilled to have him. He's still gonna make some dumb throws though.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) Airese Curry anyone? lol, the legendary Ariese Curry. Apparently he could run like a 1.0 40 yard dash (could run faster if he wanted to, but didn't want to humiliate us) but would get hurt bending over to tie his shoes.
  22. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) I know Gatlin sucked at football, but does anyone think Bolt could play in the NFL? I mean he is 6-5, probably has a huge vertical and can outrun any CB on the field, probably by a few steps. I would just love to see him perform "go" routes and let a QB just bomb it out. I honestly think he could be a solid NFL player, obviously he would have to catch the ball, but I would love to see him try it. You need to be able to catch, run routes, and block, all harder to do than it sounds. Speed by itself doesn't mean s***. Those type of guys are a dime a dozen actually.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) 2 or 3 mil. Well, he IS 37 afterall. lol. Smartass. As an extremely hyped, high-ceiling generational talent coming into MLB at 18 which is what he was back in the late 80s.
  24. How much would Junior Griffey make if he was entering the draft today?
  25. Definitely underachieving, especially the hitting. The defense is terrible but aside from Alexei I don't think that's really a result of underachieving.
