The hell was Carlos doing while he was fielding that liner, he looked like he was drunk and stumbling around or something.

Rios hammered the s*** out of that ball, almost was 9-0.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 12:29 PM) I love how every Cub fan has to bring up the Ligues as a defense to their fan's horrific behavior, conveinently leaving out that the Ligues are both Cubs fans who spent the daytime before the sox game getting wasted in the wrigley bleachers. What annoys me is that they do similar things probably more often but it's never front-page news and it always blows over.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 05:04 PM) rios is waay better than dejesus, any team would take rios over dejesus. ....how come we have a royals fan on soxtalk?? He's been here a while, HM is a pretty cool poster. There's Bonderman38 and Benchwarmerjim too.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 03:58 PM) I'm starting to come over to the oust Pods sentiment He's been having a great OBP year. Everything else has been suspect of course, as is his way. But now my worries about that high average are creeping up. He's getting a lot of infield hits, which is great...but when we face great teams, especially in the playoffs, we cant count on him being able to poke and slap at some of the greatest pitchers in the game. We've gotta get Rios a lot of starts, and get him centerfield for all close games by the later innings. I dunno, I tend to think it's easier to poke and slap at a good pitcher than it is to hit him hard.

Non Partisan Discussion-1976 vs 2008 Election

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 01:15 PM) Those were farm democrats and small-government republicans. Both of which are now dying breeds. The new Republican party (the current core of it) is much less about small government and individual rights, still about big military infrastructure, and much more about social crusades and xenophobia. The democrats are now much less about rural communities and the common man, still a lot about subsidies and government involvement, and more about xenophilia. Neither are particularly interested in fiscal discipline or anything that could be remotely construed as governmental conservatism. Neither are particularly interested in individual rights, either. But this will change over time, as will the map, as history shows. This is close to 100% of what my own analysis would've been if I typed this. -
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) Have a heapin' helpin' of our hospitality. I don't know what the f*** you're talking about...?

Continue this thread, I'm off to bed too.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 01:00 AM) The holier than thou attitude people have taken with Michael Vick is at best laughable, and more realistically hypocritical. I love dogs, but there are people in the NFL (and all over sports) who have done worse things than Michael Vick, and good people (like Tony Dungy) have said he legitimately seems remorseful, and i'm a big believer in second chances (not 3rd, 4th, etc, but 2nd chances yes). He doesn't get a clean slate with me, but really it makes no sense to keep punishing him indefinitely. I wish people got half as pissed off about random crimes that are often far worse than they do about Vick.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 11:45 PM) Fixed that for ya. No it's embarrassing when Dems do it too. Code Pink, Berkeley, etc. Really unfair, it makes liberals look bad, like a bunch of retarded cartoon characters.

I thought she said he wasn't the father? Eh.

QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 10:00 PM) Up the left field line - "The Dumbass." A tribute to Bartman. Meh leave Bartman alone unless you're going to put tributes to the other fans that reached for the ball too, or leave leave 8 baseballs there to signify the runs the Cubs gave up after that.

elrock wanted to know if Sox fans did the same thing since he doesn't get to many Sox games

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) Obviously their fans aren't dumping beer on players every game, but more often than any other stadium -- combined -- they'll throw trash on the field. It's a completely different animal being in those bleachers, where drunkeness is celebrated and renowned throughout the baseball world. I don't know what their fascination is with throwing trash on the field. Does any other team's fans even do that?

When did I pass the Iron Whore of Posting mark? I wasn't even paying attention.
-
It makes perfect sense because by the time the leaves are falling, so is McNabb.
-
Every team has some horses*** fans, including us, but you do hear about stuff happening like this in the Wrigley bleachers all the time. I mean, Wrigley isn't called the "beer garden" for nothing.

Ok, which one of you is going to change your avatar status to evil-monger? Come on.
