  1. Oh wow, I could never find his stats on B-R cuz I was looking under Kenny Williams, he's actually under Kenneth Williams. I was thinking there may have been some truth to what KW Sr. was saying last year about scouts being impressed by KW Jr. Not so much. He blows. Hard.
  2. Actually BigSqwert. But yeah holy s***, talk about a complete and total inability to see faults within yourself. Does she not realize that's pretty much all she's been doing?
  3. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) I know my body pri.....tee well and I am sure if i shot myself in the head I would fall backward. Stand up and let all your muscles go limp at the same time, your knees will buckle first and the rest of your body will just follow. The only way you'd fall backward is if you had something pushing yourself forward before you lost control. Or you shot yourself in the face with a really big gun. edit: unless you're saying you have a really big ass... well then thats different lol
  4. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 08:21 PM) My mind loves masturbating than because it masturbates when I am in the shower,in the kitchen,in the car sitting in traffic,in my dads garage and sometimes even at a baseball game. OMG ME TOO! Wait what
  5. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) If that is mental masturbation, what is it that I am doing when I'm day dreaming about Scarlett Johannson? Wacking it, pretty much.
  6. Phil Jackson once said talk radio is just mental masturbation.
  7. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 07:50 PM) So is it more fair to compare Richard to Randy Johnson, who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn during his first few years in the majors and only threw two pitches effectively for most of his career? Not that Richard has even a fraction of Johnson's talent, but geez... let's at least give the guy a full year in the rotation before we start calling for his head. Due only has 18 major league starts under his belt, spread over two half-seasons. I don't have any issues with Richard being given a long leash. I do think Poreda is going to be a better pitcher and I want to see him getting starts, though.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 07:27 PM) I assume she shot him then herself. Fell forward after the shot to the head. Her arm probably was tilted inwards. Yeah, if you're standing and lose consciousness, contrary to popular belief you fall forward, not backward.
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 07:38 PM) I think Richard is still in the rotation to build his trade value just as I think Poreda is being kept out of the rotation to keep his trade value. I've never gotten the impression that Kenny gives a s*** about trade value for his own players, if he did, he would've tried to unload Swisher later.
  10. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) Buehrle didn't have a high ceiling when he was drafted either. Without implying that Richard has anywhere near Danks' talent level, there is sometimes too much reliance on scouting and projections. After draft day, those reports go out the window and players are ranked by what they do on the field. And while I agree that Richard will most likely be a 4th or 5th starter at best, we'll never know if we run him out of town and don't give him time to develop. It's kind of unfair to compare Richard to Buehrle, too. When Buehrle had his first full season he got slapped around a little bit at first but he could pretty much be called an instant-impact guy after that and never looked back. If Richard was going to be compared to Buehrle he'd have to be doing that right about now.
  11. I like Richard and all but why are we comparing him to Danks in terms of future performance? Danks was always thought of as a future ace and the one thing holding him back was his lack of reliable offspeed pitches. He went on and developed that in the offseason, came back and dominated, and continues to do so (start of this season notwithstanding). Richard's ceiling is nowhere near that, maybe as a #3.
  12. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) They are. No they're not, they have to water it down and at least pretend to give a s***. The stimulus package for instance was completely watered down then it got 0 votes and 3 votes in the Senate (after adding in some custom pork, and one of those guys is now a Democrat). The cap and trade bill that just passed the House is watered down too and Pelosi had to beg and plead for some of the more liberal Dems to vote for it. Healthcare reform in the form that the Dems want it is probably going to die for the same reason and whenever it passes it won't look anything like the version they want.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 03:56 PM) Simply put, you can't keep throwing someone out there who struggles to get you past the 5th inning. Ozzie has a longer leash with pitchers than most other managers, if you can't make it with Ozzie behind you, you probably won't. I'm guessing Clayton still has a few more starts left to get it together, unless he totally bombs.
  14. Well Richard is the 5th starter and all, but I don't know why Poreda was called up if he's not going to play. I've always thought of Richard as a fine middle reliever who could start a game once in a while, and I tried not to get too far ahead of myself when he beat the Pirates, etc. (in the best pitcher for May I still voted Buehrle). I don't see how we can justify keeping him in the rotation at the rate he's going, but then again Ozzie is not usually very quick to pull people from the rotation once he decides they're playing there, he'll let them sink or swim first.
  15. MLB All-Star voting is still a joke, and the fans prove again that they have no business having a say in who gets to play.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 11:52 PM) That is god awful logic. Applying that same standard, I can blame the Democrats for every single thing that happened during the Bush administration, because they could have stopped it. I'm not blaming anything on anybody, I'm just saying the fact that a filibuster or the threat of a filibuster being automatic makes the statement that the minority party has zero control inaccurate. Otherwise the Democrats would just be ramming through whatever they wanted. They're pretty much worthless in the House but they can still kill legislation in the Senate if they want to. Or they can just pretend they'll kill legislation and not really do it, same effect.
  17. Thome deserves a B, his average is low but he is hovering around a .900 OPS. And I'd give Alexei a C. I wouldn't mess with the rest though. Wise was an F for a while but got back up to a D, Anderson at one point was a C, and has since taken a dive.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Um, unfunded mandates? And again, spending in 2010 is doing NOTHING to stem the recession today. If the money had been done the right way, you might not have needed the spending in 2012. And if you did, you would have had the option to tailor it around what you needed. Instead you are locked into Obama's plan, for better or for worse. It's also really trite to blame the minority party for everything, when they have zero control over anything. They got the blame when they were in power, and now they get the blame if they were out of power. If they had that much ability to control everything, why did we end up with the plan the Democrats largely wanted? GMAB. As long as they have 41 votes on any particular bill (not the same thing as seats) they have the filibuster. And of course they don't actually have to really filibuster, just say they're doing it, because Harry Reid was doing situps one morning and pulled on the back of his head a little too hard and his spine fell out.
  19. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) HOW ABOUT THE f***ING TURNSTILES YOU MOTHERf***ERS?! ALL I WANNA KNOW IS WHY ARE THERE TURNSTILES! lol. Depends on the store you're in I guess.
  20. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) Nice, North Korea launches 7 more missiles on our Independence Day. But you know, we just need to talk to them. I'm sure Barry can get this whole situation settled over a nice cup of tea and some crackers. f*** it, let's invade them then. We'll need to add a couple more divisions though because everything we have right now is in Afghanistan or Iraq. You signing up? Also, who's gonna pay for it?
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) It was always funny when customers came up and asked me like it was no big deal. They don't care. I actually never had anybody ask me that. I had a couple of strippers offer to give me a private show once though. lol.
  22. I found out about this maybe 10 minutes before this thread was started, and a thread was also posted on the other board I post on. I guess the news broke for everyone about the same time. Man this is f***ed up though, I always liked McNair even when he started to get old and didn't have it anymore. RIP Steve.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) YES! That would always happen! Same thing with the coupon lady you mentioned. When I was working there, was when they started giving out free rentals for new releases if they weren't in when you wanted it. Dumb. I would always have people come up to check out and be like "Air Force One isn't in, can I get a coupon?" So our protocol was to check the drop box to see if one was returned. Plenty of times, one would be so I would get it, check it in, and tell the customer we have it. Than they would be like, "But I don't want it now. I have what I want." Than I would be like, "Ok." and not give them the pass, than they would ask where the pass is and I woudl explain that the movie was in so I can't give you the free rental. Than they would complain and I would have to give them the pass anyway. As my tenure wound down there in college, I just started telling them the pass was in the bag, when in fact, I didn't give em one. lol, I'd give it to them the first time if they were nice to me but I'd write a note on their account saying something to the effect "I let this guy get over once, don't give this motherf***er s*** if they try to pull it again" I would love how people thought I was looking so closely after the store's bottom line though. I was like dude I make barely 6 bucks an hour, do you think I honestly give a f*** about your $3.99?
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 09:46 AM) Can I just post an RSS to Lostfans page? Over time people grew to expect the outlandish s*** I put up there and they complain if I go more than a day without updating. Current status: "doesn't Miss Mary Mack come back today? Or actually the elephants?"
