  1. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:51 PM) Too early for re-examination? Is this just your thing? You must have an entire folder full of just Soxtalk in your browser favorites.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) Rookies against the sox this year 5-1 1.56 ERA. Honestly that's kind of hilarious in hindsight. How the f***...?
  3. Man, thinking about baseball cards makes me sad. I went thru so much trouble to score Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Thomas, and Sammy Sosa rookie cards (had the Sosa before he really blew up and before people started talking about steroids). My dad had albums he made that were probably worth a few hundred, between the baseball and basketball cards. Now they're probably all worthless.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Ashole I prefer to be called a beats
  5. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) i've been known to do it on occasion, as i like variety in my sentence structure. Reading this post was probably better than the game just now.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:34 PM) Honestly, I can't believe we didn't score tonight. Mazzaro looked so bad in the first 2 innings. Tomorrow's lineup needs to be righty dominant, as their pitcher destroys lefty hitters. Does anyone put "as" in the middle of their sentences more than you, as I see you do it quite often.
  7. Hopefully for Mazzaro's sake, one of his coaches told him his major league outings won't all be a breeze like that. Only the Sox.
  8. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:22 PM) It amazes me when a ball hit to right center field is handled by a natural defensive CF. They read the ball off the bat, run to and area and the ball find their glove. The wise approach is, play in because you can't read the ball off the bat. Run as fast as you can and dive, oh look the ball is in my glove. I am the best. His routes on fall balls to the wall are funny, he should be dizzy on the number of times he can turn himself around. This is easier to see when you see him play in person.
  9. God damn Tex, you are old as hell
  10. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 09:07 PM) Oh, I get it... who cares. Pretty much
  11. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) What is the issue with Obama and teleprompters? I missed this one. That he uses them a lot to the point of ridiculousness.
  12. You just completely switched up what you were saying again, but ok.
  13. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) I mentioned it? I am only repeating the ideas of almost every one of your posts. Do we read the same poster? BigSqwert is from the Huffpo/Kos, dyed-in-the-wool-progressive mold where they b**** at Obama for not prosecuting the Bush administration, leaving troops in Iraq until further notice, holding back the Abu Gharib photos, re-opening tribunals for terrorists, and other things where Obama is at odds with the base.
  14. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 05:30 PM) Where can i find the ;killmyself; smiley?
  15. The decision to start Erstad over Anderson when Anderson clearly won the job in ST based on performance, then not immediately optioning Anderson to AAA to work on muscle memory, since they evidently didn't feel like he was ready (granted, Anderson was kind of a pouty b**** then, whereas he is not now). Made it look like they didn't know what the f*** they were doing - looked even worse when Erstad predictably got hurt. Then they couldn't even call Anderson back up, because he hurt his wrist in AAA. Ozzie arbitrarily platooning young players when they don't need it and/or it's actually detrimental. Conversely, Ozzie's treatment of pitchers is the exact opposite, which is awesome. Pick a young pitcher, tell him he's a starter, and let him pitch until he proves without a doubt that he can't. Ozzie overplaying the R-L-R matchups in the bullpen (he hasn't done this recently, I guess because we have real, competent, consistent pitchers in the bullpen). DeWayne Wise being a regular player. I actually liked him when he was called up but seeing him out there all the time really burns my ass, so it's really hard at times for me to keep liking him when he goes out and predictably fails when he gets exposed vs. MLB pitching. I have to keep reminding myself it's not his fault.
  16. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 05:13 PM) We know - Obama really is the Messiah. Do you have like macros that are saved in your browser so you just press a button and you automatically make these posts? Or is it automated somehow? Is there a quota involved?
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 03:09 PM) If I was an Xbox guy I'd be disappointed. Why? Too much Halo for my taste but that looks pretty bad ass.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) And don't forget Bonds. Why is it that it's always LH hitters who sport that fluid motion? I don't recall seeing that from the right side. A lefty turns, and steps naturally into the trot around the bases. A righty swings and has to flip the bat before they run. Griffey would swing, freeze, pose to stare at his HR, and then start jogging. It just wouldn't work if he was right-handed.
  19. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) I don't agree with everything he says, but i find Mike Huckabee to be one of the more likeable people in the political world. Agreed, forgot to mention him. I used to like Jesse Jackson Jr. until the whole Blago thing.
  20. I would like Ron Paul if he was more of a realist. He's a really honest guy. I don't really mind most senators regardless of party, but most of the politicians I really hate are in the House. And most of the craziest ones are in districts where they have no chance of being defeated in an election, so they never go away but periodically remind you of how irritating they are. Kind of like herpes.
  21. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) Also not a stretch to say Biden completely made it up. Well, yeah. He does that.
  22. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) How do you design one that isn't? unless they start throwing around slang that one racial or ethnic group may not know about, how hard is it to make up questions regarding firefighting that are race neutral? Again, equal outcome cannot be legislated without f***ing over someone else. Equal opportunity, sure. Outcome, no. ? I still don't see it. You write a test in standard English don't you? You either can speak and read in English, or you can't. I could see this as an issue if we were talking about immigrants, but that's not the case here. I hereby declare this post free of any racial bias.
  23. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 12:19 PM) UNless they have video proof of this ever happening, there is no way I would ever believe it. Not with all the s*** Biden has made up before. McCain would have kicked his east-coast liberal ass back to the beltway. They've worked together for, what, 25 years? Probably not a stretch to say they're on familiar enough terms for that to be true.
  24. How the hell do you design a test to be race-neutral? I assert that this post is completely free of any racial bias.
  25. I think we covered that in a "Thome sucks-no he doesn't" thread last year.
