  1. Ok I reiterate, Harris is f***ing fast. Tagged from second to third on a short fly to center. Also after seeing Kerry Wood's wife during the NLDS I got sick of her. Prior's wife looks better to me.
  2. Harris is a speed demon. Just gotta get on base more.
  3. Rowand singles, people everywhere will soon learn the name of Aaron Rowand.
  4. Konerko Solid RBI Single!! Alou has a weakass arm.
  5. Was that a ground rule double by Jose? I couldn't tell what was going on there.
  6. Willie looks rather impatient and like he's pressing.
  7. Nice catch on tricky foul by the wall by Uribe.
  8. I agree game threads are ok. Making a poll in the PaleHose forum where we usually talk only baseball about the Illini winning an NCAA championship is a bit much.
  9. Ok well as along as we can discuss this game like gentlemen I see no problem here. Is the Cubs messageboard you use the cubstalk one?
  10. I'm just curious why you prefer to discuss this game with Sox fans on our messageboard if you are a Cubs fan? Or are you keeping track on a Cubs messageboard simultaneously??
  11. I'm curious, what exactly does the rank of Specialist indicate? Is it a technical classification and do they outrank PFCs?
  12. Amen to that. Is this gonna be the Cubs broadcast team or Hawk and DJ does anyone know? Edit: Nevermind, I see the post now.
  13. That's cool Cheat, I'd almost rather have a funny Minkiewizcvzczdez sig then no sig at all since I am sig illiterate.
  14. Good for Schoeneweiss to get those 7 K's although I don't think we will see alot of that this season. Also best wishes to Joe's little girl.
  15. I go to Illinois but I voted White Sox and find this topic to be incendiary. There's no need to separate the Illinois from the non-Illinois Sox fans. We come here all as Sox fans and that is what binds us.
  16. I picked up Jose Valentin late in a draft yesterday. I have a feeling he will have an inspired season hitting the way he hits the Cubs/Twins against OTHER teams.
  17. Our pitching which started out on such a high note this spring is reverting to its usual Arizona nightmare.
  18. This is pretty much based on my impressions of the various teams: cubssuck1: B- Strong offense may have a low AVG. Average defense. Starting rotation decent but may have trouble getting saves. Beecher Meats: B Consistent offense but may struggle in runs and SB. Solid defense. Starting rotation good stats, may have trouble gettings wins. Bullpen looks good. Supernukers: A- Offense is pretty well rounded without glaring weakness. Defense is OK. Pitching staff good in many categories, perhaps could use more saves. witesoxfan is a god: B Offense may have trouble getting runs, RBI, and hitting for average. Defense is good. Starting pitching solid all around and respectable bullpen. The Grand J-Fo: B- Offense has good power numbers with OK average but don't draw many walks. Decent defense. Pitching could have trouble getting wins and maintaining ERA. Decent relief corps should be ok. SS Hitmen: A- Offense has good consistency, could use more HR and SB. Defense looks good. Pitching staff will get a ton of K's and some CGs. Pretty solid bullpen as well. DK Barons: B Offense needs some guys to get back in form or could struggle in runs and power numbers. Decent defense. Starting staff should get a ton of wins with pretty good K numbers. Bullpen could use some more saves. Soxnbears' Army: B+ Consistent offense across the board. Defense is fine. 1-2 starters are fine but others could hurt ERA/WHIP numbers. Bullpen probably needs more saves. Team Stoners: B+ Offense good but may be lacking in HR/RBI. Defense is so-so. Starting staff looks dominant. Bullpen performance depends on two unproven closers so far. WHarris13's: B Another well-rounded offense has no glaring holes except maybe HR. Defense is ok. Starting staff K and ERA/WHIP numbers could be down. Bullpen is top-notch. Badgers Black Sox: B Offense looks dominant except maybe in RBI or BB. Defense is fine too. Starting staff dependant on youngsters could struggle in ERA/WHIP and wins. Bullpen is unproven but should be ok. The Cheats: B Offense looks ok but could use more runs and a little more AVG. Defense is fine. Starting staff is studly and should be fine in all departments. Bullpen could use more saves (seems like almost everybody needs em).
  19. My history teacher was playing the game over the PA system at the beginning of class. He refused to turn it off even when we were up by 10 with a minute left to play.
  20. Tommy G. was effective with his 96 tops fastball but ONLY when he could get his awesome curve over. If Koch is in the mid-nineties again without another pitch, he is gonna get rocked again. Major league hitters can handle that no problem.
  21. Dusty seems to get guys to suddenly be able to hit (See Lofton, Karros, Grudzielanek, et al.). But everyone from SF warned Cubs fans that he can't manage a pitching staff to save his life or his team's. That really seemed to show in a Game 6 or Game 7 where Dusty absolutely REFUSED to warm a starter in the pen and went with guys like Dave Veres and Mark Guthrie instead.
  22. Only time will tell whether the players actually listen to what Ozzie says or write him off as some raving Latino madman.
  23. A little late but Welcome! Good to see alot of new posters as opening day draws near.
