I'm reading somewhere between 1.5-1.75 MILLION people attended the parade or rally. That's NUTS!!

Rumor: AL Playoff OF tests positive for steroids
DonkeyKongerko replied to DonkeyKongerko's topic in The Diamond Club
Yeah I would have named Rivera if not for the "someone people will care about" comment. If it's Pods or Dye somehow, it will greatly taint our championship as they both had some pretty big hits in October. Rowand would be about the same but maybe to a slightly lesser degree. I think a Vlad, Manny, Damon or Sheffield would get almost as much publicity because of the numbers they have put up recently. Watch now, it's gonna be Steve Finley or Bernie Williams. -
Rumor: AL Playoff OF tests positive for steroids
DonkeyKongerko replied to DonkeyKongerko's topic in The Diamond Club
Alot of the previous players have been the Latin guys that accidentally took something or other along the line. I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if it was Vlad. Disappointed because he's one of my favorite players but not surprised. -

Awesome, I love how for most those shots it's like the classic shot of how I most remember them from this season. Timo in Minnesota and that picture of Hermanson are permanently etched into my mind for some reason. It's like you took each player's best moment and put it into a wallpaper.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) Extra inning game in Detroit where Juan saved the game in the 9th IIRC on a defensive gem and then Frank hit the game winning home run in the 12th or 13th. The fireworks game!?! I loved it after they stopped when Hawk just said "Now that's a big league fireworks show."

Just throwin' out some more ideas: One of the games from the Colorado series. Either where Freddy retired 20 batters in a row or so or the one where Politte had the RBI. Padres game with the Aaron HR off Hoffman. One of the Tampa Bay games at the Cell where Frank hit the go ahead homerun.

Sad to see this thread leave Pale Hose Talk. Rally Crede took us away from a very dark place and helped us into the promised land. I will always remember the Rally Crede. Don't Stop Believin'

http://journals.aol.com/dcsportsguy/mrirre...nt/entries/2162 I wouldn't be surprised if it's Sheffield but it seems like the big guys aren't getting caught. Being from USA Today gives this some substance and there could be some big news in the next couple weeks.

2003 was the Cubs year except they couldn't take advantage of it. The original plan was Cubs in '03 and the two Sox teams in '04 and '05. Sometime in the 2090's will be their next shot.

Ozzie, Freddy, and Contreras in 3 separate limos each getting their due applause. I feel so great for all these guys but especially Jose for some reason. Just seeing him there enjoying this with his family is really a great experience.

Ok, now this is pretty cool. Kenny high-fiving the fans lined up along the street.

Congrats to Sox Fans from a Marlins fan
DonkeyKongerko replied to CapeFish's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Thanks Marlins fans and best speed to your recovery from Wilma. Also, thanks for Ozzie. -
The play itself was a roller coaster. "Yeah!" in reaction to OP chopping the ball. Followed by a groan when it got over Jenks' head. Then some more nervous noises followed by "YES YES YES YES" and jumping around after the final out.
-
Jenks got the save but I will always remember that as "The Uribe Inning".
-
Why don't they just shrink wrap him like the rest of the clubhouse?
-
He dictated it. I'm sure there were some slurs that were "cleaned up" in the process.
-
The caption on Yahoo.com identifies Ozzie's son as a "wellwisher".

QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) It definitely has not sunk in yet. I've thought so many times what i would do and what it would feel like if we won. And it hasn't been like that at all. It's weird, throughout the whole playoffs when everything was happening, I would just constantly shed a few tears. I wouldn't cry, but just a few tears. I can feel it in me. I don't know when it's gonna happen, but at some point I'm just gonna realize it and it's gonnna hit me and i will cry like a little baby. And those will be the sweetest tears of my life. I'm right with ya there. So many times I've dreamed about this moment and how emotional it would be. Now that it's actually happened I'm almost unable to comprehend it right now. I just need to keep repeating it over and over in my head: World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox, World Champion Chicago White Sox

And now all of the arguments can die down for a week or so when we realize that 99.9% of the members of this site are White Sox Fans. There may not be a White Sox nation but there is definitely a Soxtalk nation.

I'm just getting used to the fact that we swept Boston in the ALDS. That and I kinda get depressed whenever the Sox season ends. Maybe once I realize that we really won the WS, that feeling will disappear. Memories from 2005 will doubtlessly be replayed over the next few weeks and I intend to absorb all of them. The Sox played like flat out world-beaters for the past month and it came at a time of year that we have grown accustomed to baseball disappointment. This World Series really just flew by compared to the ALDS and ALCS in my mind.
