QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) Than why? And I know 7th Heaven was pretty big back in the day but the last few seasons I think it lost a lot of its viewers....Its such a different show now than what it used to be its unbelievable kind of. It dropped off the past two seasons although this season has actually been decent in the ratings. I don't think many shows can stay the same for 10 years except maybe the Simpsons. The issues they cover now are generally much more teen and adult than what they covered before. Oh well, I only hope they somehow bring back Jessica Biel for the last episode.

Yeah trash, 7th Heaven was only the highest rated show in WB history. It sure did a hell of alot more than Arrested Development ever did for its network. And if anyone didn't know, it wasn't cancelled due to ratings.

Hard to say. There have been a number of underwhelming launch titles. Maybe people were expecting the type of jump we had from PS1 to PS2 but honestly the improvements are harder to notice once you get so high in levels of detail. I believe both PS3 and 360 will be successful following the formula they've followed before. The first couple years after launch is when alot of the more cutting edge titles seem to be released too. Hope to see more signs of this soon.

A college baseball game won't outsell a major league one. Not gonna happen.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 05:11 AM) Good sports games. Uncreative and unimaginative in all other genres. Battlefield 1942, The Sims, Burnout Revenge? So EA didn't develop the talent in-house. But they did go out and get (acquire) some of the best and brightest talents out there. Their marketing/publishing resources have really helped extend the reach of some smaller game developers that would have no chance of getting the exposure they do get as a part of EA. There is creativity and imagination at EA, you just have to filter out everything else associated with them first.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 03:21 AM) I will grant you the players faces look better... But everything else looks as if it belongs in a PS1 game... I actually bought EA MVP 2005 this year to give it a shot and I returned it after two days... it was so terrible... I mean I swear I must of checked the disk 100 times to make sure I didn't buy the PS1 version... The graphics were that bad... Add in the pitching meter which sucked, the hitting that sucked.. and the fielding that was stiff... and the game overall just was a huge disappointment... The same feeling I had when they ruined NBA live... So did you actually play MLB 2k5? Also if you play on PS2, you don't really have a right to complain about graphics. It's the platform silly.

Injury is the only thing that would prevent Buehrle from starting Opening Day. If Jose has a decent spring, I expect him to start game 2.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) MVP baseball sucks end of story... People cream their pants because it has EA on the label... Even though it has worse graphics and crappier features then every other game on the market... But the guillible people will buy it because of the name on the front... It's so sad that those crappy Madden games are the only options out there for football.... because i'm stuck with 2k5 till that license runs out... EA SUCKS!!!! BOYCOTT EA!!! I own both 2k5 and MVP 2005 and the graphics in MVP look alot better as far as the players are concerned. The stadiums and ESPN branding look good in 2k5 but that's about it. The gameplay is also much smoother in MVP in terms of fielding and pitching. I'm wary to purchase EA games because of how they treat their employees but MVP is a far better game than whatever Take Two has been offering. My main gripe with MVP has been the hitting control which I think made the game too difficult. I thought it was always too hard to control the direction of my hits even with the stick. Still, it's alot more fun than repeatedly tapping a button to make my player run faster around the base paths.

Years from now, when you look up "career suicide," I expect to see a picture of Rafael Palmeiro.

So who is Baltic Avenue?

Will Colts finish perfect?
DonkeyKongerko replied to rangercal's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
If they do go 16-0 they will not make the Super Bowl. This kinda reminds me of the Illini season when everyone was saying they needed a loss to "toughen them up" before the tournament. I didn't believe it then, but for the Colts here, I do. -
EA is changing their batting system? I might have to buy this then.

Am I the only one here who saw it and thought it sucked?

Rumor: AL Playoff OF tests positive for steroids

Jeez, not even on a playoff roster. This is our "AL playoff outfielder"? What a let down. Can we still speculate just for fun? -
ESPN ranks Sox #2 in Offseason Rankings
DonkeyKongerko replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
#2 in the preseason rankings? That's way too high for us. I want Harold & Co. picking us to finish 4th in the division again please. What about the poor Astros fans who have seen their team that finished the season #2 all the way down at 12. Does anyone think we'll seem them in the World Series again this century? Also, can the Indians really choke away a late season surge three years in a row? -
There's a pretty good chance we won't have any players win individual post season awards. I think that makes a pretty big statement about our team that we will have no Silver Sluggers, no Gold Glovers, no MVP, no Cy Young etc. I wonder how common this is with WS champions.

QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) http://www.baseballmusings.com/ Yay for backtracking. That's worse than backtracking. He's practically contradicting statements he made earlier. Now he's saying the appeal he was involved in was "tangential"? And that he doesn't know a name but just has heard rumors?? Sounds like he's saying he doesn't know anything at all. -
QUOTE(WinningUgly85 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) 3. They need to go out of this country for talent If all else fails, you can play the race card. You'd also have a hard time finding a team WITHOUT any foreign players on it.

Maybe the success of the Angels is making them a bit desperate?
