BEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSS vs Steelers
DonkeyKongerko replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Its his play calling that is killing this game.. wait.. every game. Look if he can't make the throws don't call the plays... Turner is overmacthed for the NFL Here look at these numbers 2005 Bears ranked 23 in points 28 yards 2003 Bears 24 points 29 yards. The numbers don't lie, Turner=Shoop Ok, Mr. Offensive Coordinator, what plays should they be calling? It sounds like just runs and screen passes. Now who=Shoop? -

Orton so far is having a better game than last week. The scoreboard has a tendency of swaying our views on way or the other. -

Where is the defensive struggle that I ordered? -
I remember him in Bronx Tale. It's so fascinating to me when people who were such bright young stars turn out like this. Sad but fascinating.

World Cup Draw Today
DonkeyKongerko replied to southsideirish71's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
This is the Czech Republics first time in the World Cup. It looks like they are an up and comer. Italy is probably still down from what you might expect from them but they are almost always considered a contender. We seemed to play well against European style teams in 2002, whereas teams like South Korea really gave us alot of trouble. I expect Brazil in the final no matter who they play. -
Cool applet here lets you rotate and zoom in and out on a 3D model of the Revolution controller. Also, some rumors are floating around about the lowercase 'a' and 'b' buttons. This site seems to think they will either share the 'x' and 'y' buttons or there will be some kind of touchpad on the bottom half of the controller. So more news will probably be released about it at some point.

For his near drawl, raggedy-ass mitt, propensity for clutch hitting and the mullet, Joe Crede wins.

In pretty much any other division in baseball they would probably be a preseason 1st or 2nd place pick by a number of people. I guess they'll have to settle for Dark Horse.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) Did you read the thread at all. We have all been through this already. I'm just voicing my agreement. Please just show me where the dog cell phones were mentioned and I'll delete the post.

Dogs also have been raised with collars around their necks and MOST importantly, can't chew anything wrapped around their necks. An anklet on the other hand, well it better be bite/chew proof if you're going to make one. Cool story today about a new pet cell phone.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) More Spec Information also being leaked out tonight: Disks can store up to 8.5 GB's(GC held 1.5) Memory in Rev totals 104 MB's Double the clock rate of the CPU and GPU of the Gamecube and you have the Rev. I have no idea what this means, but I guess the Rev is twice as powerful ad the Gamecube. Not bad at all... I thought they hadn't released GPU stats on the Rev yet. Oh well, regular DVD's hold between 4-9GB like the PS2, XBox and 360's always have. PS3's Blu-Ray discs will hold somewhere between 25-50GB (I don't know what they're gonna do with that space, maybe put a movie on there?).

It still sounds like Nintendo never even considered putting a hard drive in the thing or adding more RAM than my 8-year old Dell came with. They're also talking about memory expansion packs like that thing you could buy for the N64. I'm really not a fan of having to buy hardware upgrades for your system to run newer games. Also, I've been playing console games for about 18 years with very similar variations on the same handheld controller theme. I think something of that will be missed out on by owners of the revolution unless they also release a Gamecube-like controller for it.

Buy or sell? The 06 Indian pitching staff will be better than 05. As good as Millwood was, I don't see anyone (especially not Paul Byrd) filling his shoes.

What is it with the AL East and overpaying for everything? Tampa Bay is my pick in 2006.

The microchip is just like a barcode for pets. Implanting something in a pet that could allow for nationwide tracking wouldn't quite be trivial. I imagine there would be significant power requirements and where would you put the antenna? We use the microchip in all our dogs. I never realized how small they were until I saw one. It's basically a grain of rice and now you can prove that your dog is yours should it get lost and someone claim it.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) That article looks like a smokescreen from Nintendo. They never like to release any info or specs on their systems before they are due to come out. I cannot imagine that Nintendo would put so much effort forth to create a new console only to give us a "souped up X-Box" and a new controller to play with. I hope you're right. But is there really a need to lower our expectations in order to blow us away later? I guess I just don't understand why they'd say anything at all.

Awesome remote controller with tilt/pitch/yaw sensors and 3D pointing 128 MB RAM, No HDTV support, 512 MB Flash memory for game saves, "It's like a souped up XBox". :puke With so little RAM and what's looking like status quo graphics, how is this system going to last five years? The only thing "revolutionary" will be the controller which will now officially make or break it. This is not going to be in the same gaming market as PS3/360/PC when everyone starts buying HDTV's. I guess this is what I've learned to be called a "differentiation marketing strategy." IGN: Revolution Tech Details Emerge

Thought this was funny: Story -
Dave Nilsson and Joe Vitiello will make this tournament worth watching. Each roster drums up memories of late 90's video gaming with Ken Griffey Jr.'s Major League Baseball.

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Yes. But I didn't expect Google to freak out the way they did, thats what really bothered me most. For future reference, it sounds like Google is holding everyone to their TOS pretty strictly. I found this article on a few blogs:
