QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) You know it. And a change up too. You beat me to it, i was going to say to teach him the change. A good slider never hurt either.

They just said that AJ has sucked so far this year and we have Flowers crushing in AAA, how much longer will the team wait blah blah blah. There was nothing more than pure speculation.

The W-S team has some pretty exciting players to watch with their sick pitching staff and several position players who could distinguish themselves this year in Gilmore, Escobar, and my pre season sleeper prospect Brandon Short who is making me look smart so far though this is admittedly a small sample size.

Kyle Bellamy to W-S, Phegley to DL, Thompson to Kanny

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) I bet he got hurt celebrating, check out the pic on the front page of the Dash website. didn't see any picture, but, on a side note, there is a great pic of seth loman in the team leaders area. he looks developmentally disabled. -
Remenowsky is throwing down in W-S already, wonder if he'll be given the chance to go to Birmingham this season. I hope so, he's too old for his league and needs to be challenged. Also, Retherford is doing what he's done at every level, hit the crap out of the ball. He could end up replacing Nix before too long if he keeps it up.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 11:04 PM) I still think Linebrink has to prove he can protect 1-2-3 run leads in the 7th and 8th before any team would think about taking that contract. It would be one thing if it was just this season, but it's also 2011, correct? With the shift in the economic climate in the last two offseasons, I just think there's only about 5 teams in baseball that would dare to take a risk with Linebrink's contract at this latter stage in his career. yes we have him signed for 5 mil in 2011 as well. i could also see us throwing 1-2 mil in the pot so we could get a bit more value out of a Linebrink trade that would also open up the number of teams who would be willing to take him.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 10:58 PM) : And it's amazing to watch Sergio Santos! totally agree with you. i was very unsure about him going into this season but his stuff is fantastic and i feel pretty confident when they throw him out there. btw, our bullpen had 12k's against the BJ's today, in 6IP, that's unreal.

Did the Sox score too many runs tonight?

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Mock and sneer all you want. Buehrle's opening day "Webgem" is the measuring stick for all other defensive plays in 2010 a On ESPN they have been judging other pitcher's good defensive plays on the Buehrlemeter, pretty sweet, hopefully they keep that up all year. -
Chuck Norris wears Mark Buehrle underwear.

QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) It DEFINATELY did not hit him. On the MLB network they showed a replay from an overhead cam, and it CLEARLY did not touch AJ. I was watching the game live and it appeared that the ball did graze his shoe top. It doesn't have to blast his foot, just has to touch part of his uniform, this includes the top of his shoe laces if need be. Contact with the ball on any part of a player's body or uniform, even the slightest of touches, is considered a HBP.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 10:10 AM) He's started off the season with his stats looking disturbingly like those of last season. 6/24 for a .250 batting average, 2 2b, 0 HR, 1 BB, 8 k's. I would think that this is almost a compliment considering he's starting the season 100% better than last year and he's also a just turned 21 yo playing in AAA against guys 3-4 years older

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) O'Neill is a 24 year-old repeating Low A ball. But yeah, his lack of walks, and the 5.00 GO/AO, are encouraging. he's always had a good ground ball %, his calling card is a heavy sinker, not sure why he's repeating low a after having good results there last season.

This just in, Hudson is a pretty good pitcher. What's the over/under on his ETA??? 1 month?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) Teahen, Jones and Rios all hitting in the same game? The Sox have to win this. I'm looking at Jenks and don't see someone who looks 25 lbs lighter than last year. maybe he got all the red meat cleaned out of his colon, that's why he's 25 lbs lighter but you can't see it. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) Dude, Nix isn't a bad defender. Unless, he's playing SS. which is exactly were he'd be playing if you run him instead of vizquel in this situation -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) ok...i'm happy but one quick little rant.... wouldn't nix be a better option as a PR than vizquel? If not he seems to have absolutely 0 purpose on this team...wouldn't lillibridge or de aza at least be better options on the bench purely as a PR yes but then you switch him for Vizquel for defense and you don't have any more bats/ subs on the bench if you need one later -
