QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 06:23 AM) There's a guy named Burt Reynolds who plays in the Rays system. he needs to grow a mustachio

His GO/AO is 1.39 and only 6 hr's in 14 GS this season, sounds like the type of guy who could succeed for us. I live in the NW and so end up watching a lot of Mariner's games because that's all that's on so I have seen him pitch a few times this year, I've never been super impressed by his stuff but I like his mound presence, demeanor, and the pace he plays at. A lot like Buerhle in many ways.

QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:32 AM) Yes, for a college pitcher I hope that he is pushed up soon unless he is on some type of innings count to finish off of his first pro summer. possible that he's in Bristol to get some confidence going, otherwise I can't really see any reason to start a college pitcher with high 90's heat at the lowest level. That type of gas should blow people away in Bristol, I'm sure he needs work on his secondary stuff but he could have done that at G-F and experienced a bit more of a challenge at the same time.

I voted for the Sox.

Looks like there were lots of players moved around over the ASB. Silverio and Buch were both moved up to Kanny, Leesman moved up to B-Ham, those are just the ones that i noticed.
-
Well Dan got the call up yesterday and pitched against the Royals, I don't expect to see him in the minors again unless he really blows it. But with his track record, that's not too likely.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) Hell yeah! 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K. Not bad buddy. If he continues to pitch well and the big team is in contention come August we can expect Sale to be in a Sox uniform coming out of the pen. This is unless Threets somehow figures out how to pitch between now and then.

Chris Sale threw a scoreless inning in relief today with no hits and 2K's

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) Brandon Short has been showing quite a bit of power lately. He's been doing that all season.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) I'm voting for Konerko and Votto. That's what i've been doing for about two days now. I think i'm probably 40 votes deep.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) I haven't yet mastered bilocation and omnipresence. It's not as cool as you'd think, gets pretty boring after the initial thrill wears off.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Has anyone else noticed that Dan Black has been removed from Bristol's roster as a catcher?!?!? ..I wonder what's going on there? He was drafted as a 1b/3b, I was unaware of any position change for him as those were the two positions he played last season
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) Morel is 0-1 with 2 BB. Despite his pretty bad .211 AVG so far in AAA, he has only 9 strikeouts to 6 walks. He just seems to be real unlucky. I'm not worried about him yet, he's had success at every level so far, if he's still batting .211 at the end of the season then there's reason for concern

HR's for B Short and Justin Greene, I predict that both will be in Birmingham after the all star break.

Chris Sale signs for a bargain; expected in majors this year
bighurt4life replied to Eminor3rd's topic in Pale Hose Talk
To get the subject back on Sale, I think that there's so man different things happening with a pitcher's motion that it's almost impossible to predict injury. There will always be exceptions to the rule , Mark Prior is the prime example of "perfect" mechanics going wrong, and on the other side of the coin, Randy Johnson was a skinny, lanky hard throwing lefty with funky mechanics (like Sale)who went on to have one of the best careers of all time so it's honestly just a crap shoot I think. What we do know about Sale is that he's been injury free in college and has been a rock for his team's rotation, these things both bode well for him. Aside from that we'll just wait and see. -
