Braves among teams showing interest in chris sale

Any deal has to start with Swanson and Maitan. Would nice to see Acuna or Albies in there too, but just a base of those 2 guys would be a great start. -
Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to DirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I do think getting Walker Buehler would be really cool though. Not just because he's a transposed letter away from being Buehrle, but because him and Fulmer were teammates at Vandy and I think it would be really cool for both of them to be reunited again. I mean, just look at the bromance here! http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/18082800/v152...ted-camaraderie -
Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 12:12 AM) I'd be asking for Urias, De Leon, Verdugo, Bellinger, Alvarez, Lux and Buehler in exchange for Sale, Frazier and Jennings. Then turning around Quintana and Jones for Benintendi, Devers, Groome and Kopech. Maybe you can work in Abreu as their new DH and get Moncada in place of Devers. At that point you're in a full rebuild - ship off Melky, Eaton, Gonzalez and Robertson. The new farm looks great in this scenario, before getting what should be decent returns for Melky and Gonzalez, an OK package for Robertson and a stellar package for Eaton. 2017 Sox youth movement sans Melky/Eaton/Gonzalez/Robertson deals LHP: Rodon, Urias, Groome, Guerrero RHP: De Leon, Kopech, Fulmer, Adams, Hansen, Burdi, Alvarez, Buehler, Stephens, Danish 1B: Bellinger, Zangari, Danny Hayes 2B: Saladino (if healthy) and Sanchez for now SS: Anderson, Lux, Curbelo 3B: Devers, Michalczewski C : Collins, Narvaez OF: Benintendi, Verdugo, Call, Fisher, Adolfo, Tilson, May, Engel But instead, I fully expect us to sign Jason Castro, re-sign Morneau and go for it. I think both of your deals are overpays. Just using the players you proposed, I would say remove Alvarez and Buehler and Jennings from the Sale deal, and remove Groome from the Q deal to get a little more realistic returns. I'm just thinking that at some point the Dodgers will just rather use half of those pieces on Sonny Gray, rather than trading their top 4 pitching prospects (according to Fangraphs). The Dodgers deal you proposed is them trading their #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 and #12 prospects. Brock Stewart and Andrew Toles become their top 2 prospects and the Dodgers system becomes a bottom 5 system in baseball. I don't see them mortgaging ALL of that to fill 2 needs. The Red Sox trade is more reasonable, but still think it's a tad much. EDIT: I just noticed you put Nate Jones in your Quintana deal. Nevermind, what you proposed actually seems pretty fair with Jones in there too. -

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 11:39 PM) I bet the Sox are asking for Seager, as they should be, and the Dodgers are countering with these lame Urias proposals everybody is pitching on here. Look, average major leaguers get traded for average major leaguers all the time, and good major leaguers get traded for good major leaguers all the time as well. Chris Sale is not only a superstar but a top superstar. I can understand the Dodgers being hesitant to start a deal with Seager, but that's because it's a fair place to start. This whole Urias is untouchable talk is utter nonsense. Urias is not a good enough get as the main piece. Not even close. Seager, more interesting for sure. Even he is a little bit too unproven. I know it's popular to underestimate the capabilities of the front office but this is CFS we're talking about. The franchise is going to get a historic ransom if a deal goes through. I don't think it will. Salary inflation has made it nearly impossible for the Sox to get fair value. I feel like you think Seager is just the NL ROY and not a legitimate NL MVP candidate at the most premium position on the field. The Dodgers aren't improving much by swapping superstars. I love Seager, but it's doesn't make any sense for the Dodgers to move him. -

Aaaaaaaaand I lost by 2 points because Bernard did absolutely nothing. So that's cool. My 3rd loss of the season in which I've scored 100+ points. -

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 06:39 PM) whitesoxdave @barstoolWSD 13s14 seconds ago Rumor on the hot stove is the #Dodgers and #WhiteSox are discussing Sale & Frazier in a package deal to LA for a big prospect return He followed up by saying he heard this fro 2 separate sources who are not connected. So maybe this has some legs. I would interested to know if they BOTH just told him at the same time, or if he heard it from one source, and then asked another source to confirm before tweeting it. -
WriteSox tweeted a suggested return of Turner, Giolito, Robles and more for Sale. I would s*** my pants for a package around those 3, no matter who the "more" may be.

White Sox listening on Frazier

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) No way in hell. I don't think I'd take that for Nate Jones alone. I'm not a fan of Owens. Swihart isn't a catcher. Don't know much about the other two however. Dubon is really interesting if he can stick at SS. The Jerez guy seems rather worthless, but I don't know anything outside of his uninspiring numbers. -
2016-2017 Off-season Plans (extensive)
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
BP Boston made some offseason plans like we did in this thread. Here are 2 of their plans that involved Sale and Quintana. Sale traded for... 2B Yoan Moncada SS Mauricio Dubon SP Eduardo Rodriguez Quintana traded for... CF Jackie Bradley Jr. C Blake Swihart 3B Rafael Devers SP Michael Kopech I think that Sale trade is a bit light. Throw in 2 lower level guys like Basabe and Dalbec. I am a big fan of that Quintana trade though, and think it's probably unrealistic to hope for that back. Hell, that would even be a fair return for Sale. -
White Sox listening on Frazier

BP Boston offered up this trade of Frazier in a recent post.... Todd Frazier and Nate Jones to the Red Sox for... C Blake Swihart SS Mauricio Dubon SP Henry Owens RP Williams Jerez Not a terribly exciting return, but I think it's probably a fair one. Swihart we all pretty much know, Henry Owens used to be a top prospect, Dubon is 22 and hit .339 this season in 62 games in AA (stole 30 bases combined between A+ and AA), and Jerez is just kind of a throw-in reliever. -

Oh, forgot to mention I won $20 tonight on Fanduel, for a $2 entry. I finished 3rd out of 100. And while that sounds really good, I was in FIRST and in line to win $50 until that last meaningless completion by Rothlisberger as time expired in the Cowboys game. That pass cost me $30. -
White Sox looking to deal Robertson

I'm not going to assume Robertson is the only one they are trying to deal right now. Safe to assume they have multiple talks going with multiple teams for multiple players. -

Will Brett Lawrie be Non-Tendered?

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 09:10 AM) I don't understand the urgency to do it right now. Maybe he was planning on buying a house in Chicago, asked for assurance that he will still be on the team and Hahn or whoever told him that they were going a different direction this offseason and that he would be with a new team either via trade or non-tendering. -

2016-2017 Off-season Plans (extensive)
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 02:30 AM) Here's my off-season plan (full rebuild) for our beloved ChiSox: Trades: Chris Sale and Nate Jones to the Boston Red Sox for OF Andrew Benintendi, RHP Eduardo Rodriguez, 3B Rafael Devers, 1B Sam Travis, OF Luis Alexander Basabe and C Christian Vazquez. FINALLY! The blockbuster deal we've all been waiting for. Red Sox get their ace and power arm they're looking for in their pen. DD caves and gives up the farm in this deal. Jose Quintana to the Washington Nationals for RHP Lucas Giolito, RHP Erick Fedde, and OF Andrew Stevenson. The Sox get Giolito after the Nats can't close the Sale deal and get the Sox second ace to help their quest in another postseason run at a World Series which is why they give up the prized young future star in Giolito. Jose Abreu to the Houston Astros for RHP Francis Martes, OF Kyle Tucker, RHP Albert Abreu. The Astros get the 1B they need to infuse their lineup. They're interested in Miggy as well but Abreu is younger and cheaper. Todd Frazier to the New York Mets for 1B Dominic Smith and RHP Justin Dunn. With David Wright's health uncertainty, the Mets acquire a power hitting 3B they need. David Robertson to the New York Yankees for RHP Domingo Acevedo and C Luis Torrens. Robertson is sent back to the Bronx to give them a familiar, cheaper alternative to Chapman and Jansen. Melky Cabrera to the Arizona Diamondbacks for 2B Domingo Leyba, SS Jack Reinheimer and C Ryan January. Sox get a nice return for Melky from a DBacks team that needs a LF. Adam Eaton to the Los Angeles Dodgers for 1B Cody Bellinger, RHP Jose De Leon, and OF Yasiel Puig. The Sox land 2 great young prospects and a change of scenery OFer with tremendous potential. Rotation: Pen: Shields RHP Putnam RHP Rodon LHP Petricka RHP Gonzalez RHP Jennings LHP Fulmer RHP Ynoa RHP Rodriguez LHP Hochevar RHP Storen RHP CP-Burdi LF-Yasiel Puig CF-Charlie Tilson RF-Rymer Liriano 3B-Matt Davidson SS-Tim Anderson 2B-Tyler Saladino 1B-James Loney DH-Justin Morneau C-Wilson Ramos/Christian Vazquez Bench: 4th OF, utility IF-Carlos Sanchez, Backup C-Christian Vazquez FA signings: P Drew Storen 1yr $7 million. Sox try to fix Storen as the set-up man for Burdi. P Luke Hochevar 1 yr $4 million. Depth to the bullpen. C Wilson Ramos 1yr $9 million. Sox take a worth while gamble on Ramos who likely won't return till April or May at the earliest. DH Justin Morneau 1yr $5 million. Sox bring back Morneau to fill the DH spot. 1B James Loney 1yr $5 million. Sox sign Loney to fill 1B void. Lineup: 1. Tilson CF 2. Saladino 2B 3. Puig LF 4. Morneau DH 5. Davidson 3B 6. Anderson SS 7. Loney 1B 8. Vazquez C 9. Liriano RF Rick Hahn and the scouting department help replenish the Sox farm into the best in baseball by adding 18 prospects. It'll be a rough few of seasons but he Sox will be competing for real this time when they're ready. The Sox wipe the slate clean of all the veterans and begin the rebuilding process. Sox make some FA moves to fill the roster out in a rebuilding season and in hopes some of them bounce back and are able to flip them at the deadline. Flame away boys! I would try to deal Nate Jones separately, or at least include him in the Yankees trade and bring back Rutherford and a low level guy. Take Jones and Vazquez out of your Red Sox/Sale trade. I think that's a huge overpay for Abreu. I don't think his value is that high. I like the Quintana trade, but I feel the Adam Eaton trade is light. Add in 2B Willie Calhoun and SS Gavin Lux. Remove Puig. -
Will Brett Lawrie be Non-Tendered?

I don't know if we have a random trade suggestion thread, so I guess I'll just put this here. Obviously a blockbuster trade between the Sox/Cubs won't happen, but I wonder if there could be interest in a move of Nate Jones for Almora and Happ. Or Candelario and Happ. -

Collins with 1/4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K. Tweets about the HR said it was a bomb 400+ to RCF. Disappointing to see 2 more Ks, though only playing twice a week, it's got to be difficult to get in a rhythm. -

Will Brett Lawrie be Non-Tendered?
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Someone on twitter speculated that maybe the Sox just told Lawrie that he won't be returning to the team because they are going to non-tender him IF they can't find a trading spot for him. So could be that he's not returning, but via what transaction we may not know until the 2nd.
