Nontender deadline almost here
Exactly. Q is the perfect backbone for the #3-4 guy in this rotation.

Yeah. He cut his thumb doing dishes.

Trevor May signs with Mets for 2 yr deal
Woof. A $7.5M AAV was not something I would expected out of May in this market.

Early Rule 5 preview
Kevin Kramer has got to be extremely likely to be taken, right? He's major league ready and plays all over the infield. Seems like he would be an obvious choice for a lot of teams as a utility guy.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
I paid attention to this during Bauer's vlog post about the La Russa DUI stuff and was looking for any indication of being turned off by it and if anything he seemed to be closer to defending La Russa if anything else. Maybe I'll have to watch it again, but nothing about it made me think it hurt Bauer's chances of coming here. That being said, I hope Joel Sherman is absolutely wrong here.

Offseason Targets
Sherman said this is an article today... "It generally comes down to dollars and cents, and Cohen has the most of that and is operating in a field in which just the Blue Jays, White Sox and perhaps one or two other clubs are revved up to spend in this market."

MLB announces "draft league"
68 games? The fuck? I'm being lazy by not finding a link, but I assume they mean 68 games in total, not per team? Like a tournament?

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I don't follow this thread much, but how many of you here have been positive for COVID yet? I just got tested yesterday, and then about 2 hours after my test I lost my taste and smell. Super strange to get absolutely no enjoyment out of eating.

Offseason Targets
Absolutely one of the dumbest things I've read on this site in a while, but then again I don't see most of your posts. ?

The Blake Snell Thread
While I mostly agree with you, the Rays go to their bullpen very early. I think Snell would have a longer leash on pretty much any other team, and his lack of innings wouldn't look as glaring. That being said, I don't value Snell like the White Sox and Boston valued Sale, and that's essentially what a Vaughn + Kopech trade would be like when it was Moncada/Kopech/Basabe. And like others have said, making a big trade with the Rays in general scares me off. Go after Marquez or Woodruff if you have to trade for a #2 guy behind Giolito.

Joey Gallo would be an interesting target for RF. Gold glover, bats lefty, gets on base, massive power.- **2020 Fantasy Football Complaint Thread**
Well he's the starting QB today and projected for 16 pts out of my TE spot. Also, just made a trade of Mike Davis and Curtis Samuel for Justin Herbert.- Garrett Crochet
I disagree, but I think it will also depend on what the Sox add to their bullpen this off-season as well as how the pen is performing next year. If they are struggling and need Crochet, sure. But if we are talking the 2020 bullpen we had this year, stretch him out. My off-season plan included resigning Colome and adding Kirby Yates. If you can do that, I think you afford the luxury of leaving Crochet in AA/AAA in 2021 to stretch out until he's needed in September to be a 2-inning guy for the playoffs.- Garrett Crochet
Yup, exact same hope and expectation.- Offseason Targets
Hoyer got promoted to VP of Baseball Ops. This would leave a vacancy in their GM spot, unless they just let McLeod take it.- **2020 Fantasy Football Complaint Thread**
Anyone else on ESPN considering putting Taysom Hill in to their lineup in the TE or Flex spots? I'm thinking about flexing him, thinking about all the points he could get if he quarterbacks and plays WR/RB/TE the rest of the game.- Sox hire Cairo as bench coach
It doesn't bode well for those of us who are holding out hope that a La Russa convinction in December would result in them firing/mutually parting ways with TLR. Or it could be a complete coincidence that he happened to have played for TLR and maybe the Sox are hedging their choice as a guy who would be a good choice independent of La Russa, but may also be good in conjunction with La Russa in the event that he is found innocent/they keep him regardless. Honestly it would be smart of them to hedge themselves for both outcomes.- Sox hire Cairo as bench coach
Wait, whose our 2nd pitching coach behind Katz?- Theo Epstein Resigns; Hoyer Stays
They Cubs could throw money in a trade. Bryant and $10M to buy a decent prospect, or something along those lines. It's insane to me to believe a team like the Cubs could fuck up so badly by non-tendering Bryant.- Offseason Targets
I saw Eno Sarris mention something on Twitter today about the Blue Jays bring competition for the White Sox on Springer. My takeaway was just him acknowledging the Sox are in on, and possibly most aggressively so, Springer. - Offseason Targets
