  1. 2-RBI Double for Alex Call. Up to .377 with Kanny with 6 doubles already. Almost as many XBH as K's so far in Kanny.
  2. Ok, but you have to play this in the background when you read it.... Buxton hits a groundball to Saladino at 3B. Saladino takes an extra step, throws the ball across, somewhat in to the 1B line, and Abreu drops it. On the very next pitch, Buxton takes off for 2nd, Navarro launches the throw in to CF and Buxton gets up and scrambles for 3rd. Shuck admires Buxton's speed, but decides to not get the ball in quick enough, so Buxton keeps running and tries to score. Shuck throws the ball home, Navarro catches it up the 3B line, jumps at Buxton to tag him, Buxton leaps over to avoid the tag and in the process of tagging Buxton, Navarro drops the ball and he scores safely. 3 errors in about 30 seconds.
  3. HAHAHA, everyone just throw the ball around! This f***ing team.
  4. Hawk just said on the broadcast that the Rangers are trying to get Sale AND Quintana?? Huh? No way they would want to trade their entire farm for both...I mean, it would have to be like.... Odor, Gallo, Mazara, Tate, Brinson, Ortiz, Ibanez, and Cordell? I mean, that's never going to happen.
  5. Avi can't even field a ball that softly bounces to him off the wall....stay hot, you unyielding piece of sewer trash.
  6. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 06:21 PM) As someone posted on Twitter... Avi is here to remind you not to get excited over getting prospects at the trade deadline Although to be fair, only ONE publication ranked him in the top 100 at any point, and that was BA and he was #74. Every package for Sale/Q that has been discussed is involving players MUCH more highly regarded and agreed upon by multiple outlets. I get your point, but Avi wasn't a slam dunk prospect.
  7. http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Well....no ones winning.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 07:34 AM) I was not a fan of the trade as soon as it was made from the trade thread below. I liked Almonte a lot. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...97492&st=30 It's funny, as I mentioned in that thread, I watched Almonte pitch when I was in Myrtle Beach in September for the Class-A Championship game, and the two players I was most excited to see, and got most video of, were Yency Almonte and Gleyber Torres. And both got traded out of their orgs within a year.
  9. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 06:00 PM) Chris Archer? Perhaps, but blockbusters within the division though?
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) I'd bet Quintana. Benintendi, Vazquez, Devers, and Kopech for Q? Hmm....that's not a bad trade for us, but it certainly doesn't seem like the big haul we would all be rooting for. Which may mean it's more realistic.
  11. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) Why do I fear that someone else is getting them? I can't think of what other elite SP/RP (Not Miller) is available to warrant them moving Benintendi though.
  12. Christian Vazquez is an unbelievable pitch framer. I'm sure the data agrees, because I just marvel at how quickly and smoothly he snaps every pitch in to the zone.
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 02:48 PM) No way in hell is James Shields opting out, it's simply not happening. The guy is guaranteed $42M over the next two years. He is not getting more than that as a free agent. I think there's a better chance he retires than opting out. I didn't say opting out for more money...
  14. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 05:06 PM) Can the Braves be a dark horse? Have almost no money tied up after this year and acquiring Kemp. Maybe they'll look to add a closer for next season while they are trying to compete? Do you think the Braves are ready to contend in 2017?
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) The odds of Shields keeping this performance up is incredibly low. His periphials suck and some serious regression should be expected. All it takes is one s***ty start for him to destroy all the goodwill he's developed over the past 5 starts. Deal him now while there still is some interest. Well, he doesn't have to be a sub-2 ERA guy for the rest of the year to want to opt out. But if his last 15 starts of the year or so result in an ERA in the 3's in a hitters ballpark, I could see him possibly opting out to go to a team that is NOT rebuilding like the Sox may be.
  16. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) Cubs have yet to register a hit through 6 innings against Wade Miley. You know, I saw some snapstories on my feed of friends who were going to the game, but saw not a single tweet on my twitter timeline about the game, which always means they aren't winning. So now it makes sense.
  17. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) So who are the realistic options for Robertson left? St Louis? Boston? Texas? Blue Jays? And Mariners, according to Chris Cotillo. I had suggested asking for #2 OF Tyler O'Neil and #9 1B/3B DJ Peterson in return.
  18. Well, I guess James Shields is the only guy that *COULD* be an expiring deal if he pitches well enough to opt out. I still think he's a better candidate for an August trade anyway though.
  19. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Nats get Melancon Damn, the Chapman effect didn't wash over to other reliever trades. Guess maybe we shouldn't expect everyone else to wrecklessly throw away top prospects for relievers, even rentals.
  20. I guess the thing to not get TOO down about is that they still have August to make a deal, and none of these players have expiring contracts. So even though we would get the most value now and we SHOULD do something in the next 2 days, it's not like we have to walk away empty handed.
  21. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 12:59 PM) The idea of trading both Sale and Quintana seems very unrealistic. That not only suggests a total rebuild, which is not the White Sox way, but the task of building a formidable staff, with both of them gone, would be Herculean. A staff led by Quintana, as the Ace, Rodon as a #2 and Fulmer, with another youngster and a veteran, would be feasible. Of course, there is no guarantee, but it's doable. Without Sale and Q, they would need to rebuild the whole staff. Even a rebuild requires a core, and without either Sale and Quintana, what would be the core of the pitching staff? While I don't want to see Sale AND Q traded, can you imagine the type of crazy influx of talent we would get?? Just to use Dave Cameron's Dodgers/Sale idea and the Red Sox/Q discussions.... Sale to Dodgers for SP Urias, OF Verdugo, 2 others Quintana to Red Sox for 2B Moncada, 3B Devers, SP Kopech. Those are 5 top prospects (Urias and Moncada are top 5 in all of baseball), plus a couple others.
  22. Quintana just a hair below Kluber for fWAR leader in the AL. That start alone yesterday netted Quintana 0.5 WAR alone.
  23. I'll go ahead and assume this is the thread to talk Robertson trade ideas. Cotillo tweeted that Mariners are looking to get a reliever, even rentals. How about....Robertson for... OF Tyler O'Neil (M's #2 prospect, #74 in mlb) 1B/3B DJ Peterson (M's #9 prospect)
