Yeah, I put 0 value on pitcher wins. I only know Sale has 12 because it gets mentioned a lot. I honestly don't have a single clue how many wins ANY other pitcher has in baseball, or how many wins anyone had last year, White Sox or otherwise. I've successfully managed to push that meaningless statistic out of my mind.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 12:30 AM) Well he technically got demoted. He was up with the MLB team for a handful of games then to AAA when we brought up Ynoa Right, but I expected him to go back to AA since he wasn't really tearing it up down there, or in Chicago.

I would be ok with us trading Q for a collection of players, I mean s***, we don't score any runs for him anyway. I'm almost starting to think it's not even a statistical anomaly anymore and the players may actually be conscious of it at this point. Trade Quintana to Boston for Betts, Moncada, Benintendi, and Owens.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 02:32 PM) Yeah, but, best college hitter in the draft, 450 OBP. Don't have many of his kind. Can't wait for him to play. .450 OBP?? Last I saw his OBP was .538.... -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) not nearly enough, as Wong has been awful this season and just signed an extension. Don't really see Cardinals as a fit Not nearly as good as what the Red Sox can offer, certainly. Red Sox and Cubs seem to be the most well equip for a deal that won't kill their orgs. Dodgers would be really interesting if they would move Urias, but I kind of doubt that.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 01:53 PM) Cardinals are reportedly interested in Sale with a package of Alex Reyes +++ coming our way. Reyes, Wong, Bader, Kelly, Fernandez better be ballparkin' it.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 01:31 PM) It'll be interesting to see where they start him. After Smith went down the catchers got shuffled all over the org. Hostetler said right after the draft that Collins would go to W-S, Burdi to W-S or even Birmingham, and Hansen to AZL to gain confidence. -
I'm only trading Sale if the Red Sox are willing to overpay for him and give up one of their current young all-stars, not just a collection of prospects. I'd do it for Betts, Moncada, Benintendi, and some lottery pitcher with upside. If they don't want to have to pay that much, then oh well. And honestly, they can get a lesser, but still great pitcher from some other team for less.
-
Well that's certainly odd that they would give up on him so early. Hell, Courtney Hawkins will be 33 years old in AA eventually.

Alex Call ended up hitting a 2-run HR late. Call - 1/4, HR, 2 RBI, BB Fisher - 2/4, RBI, 2 BB, SB Zangari - 4/4, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 1 BB Schnurbusch - 3/6, 3B, 3 RBI Roman - 2/3, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI, BB Holy offense, Great Falls.

http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Nicky D used his yard stick to poke a solo shot. J-Fish is 2/4 with a SB, his 3rd in 4 pro games. Zangari is 3 for 3, 2 doubles, BB, 2 RBI. Hitting .267 since his demotion. (Fun fact, just realized he has 29 E at 1B in 107 pro games there.....HOLY f***ING AWFUL)

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 04:35 PM) Collins is available to sign. Hostetler said that they will Collins a week or 2 to relax and catch his breath before they send him to W-S. So if it takes a little bit for the signing, I presume that's why.

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 08:44 AM) Got a PS4 the other day. I've been thinking about it for over a year now but the release of Uncharted 4 (I wound up getting the special bundle with this for $370 plus tax which I thought wasa decent deal) and FFXV coming soon I thought now was the time over the summer. I'm a pretty casual gamer and have no interest in VR and won't have 4K anytime soon so I'm not concerned about the new model coming out next year. For now just going to enjoy UC4 and get FIFA in the fall. I'll get The Show eventually too but I don't want to be buying both games every year, so I think I'll pick up MLB 16 early next year when I can get it cheap and that'll tide me over until '18. Any game recommendations? I have terrible internet so multiplayer isn't really an option for me. And I don't really like shooters. I have my eyes on Firewatch and the Middle-Earth game from a couple years back (big Tolkien fan). With the announcement of Detroit: Become Human, which looks amazing, I HIGHLY recommend Heavy Rain. They re-released for PS4. Doesn't require internet, isn't a shooter, but it has the best storyline of any game I've ever played, and the "choose your own adventure" aspect of it is well done.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) Awesome. If you include Schmaltz as a part of the deal, that is a big win for teh Hawks. But also not a surprise and would have happened anyway.
