  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 04:51 PM) I really like that crew but this still kind of surprises me to hear for whatever reason. I'll I have heard are great things about it, yet ever trailer/clip I see looks terrible. And I too am a Lonely Island fan. I'll probably try to see it though.
  2. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 11:47 PM) Uh no. "... Tatis Jr. - I don't know who the f*** that is, someone in triple A... And if I've never heard of them, then, ya. But JAMES SHIEEELDS!!" Priceless. It only had 7 views so I was just assuming you didn't come across it that quickly.
  3. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 11:29 PM) I know most of my posts are just full of s***... But seriously, watch this video about the trade. You'll thank me later - and no, it's not Rick rolling - it's an actual review of the trade. I assume this is you, Hi8is?
  4. What color? I might be interested if I can find a way to get it.
  5. Kevan Smith debut....hurt. Jason Coats debut....hurt. Maybe these Charlotte guys should just be a little weary of their major league debuts.
  6. Well Jon Jay would certainly be an upgrade over Shuck and Avi.
  7. whitesoxdave ‏@barstoolWSD 4m4 minutes ago Chicago, IL Was told from a #source that Jon Jay may also be included in the Shields ➡️ ChiSox deal to help offset some cost #WhiteSox
  8. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) If his last start wasn't as bad as it was, would you be saying that? He had a bad start. It happens. Every other game this season that he's pitched, he's always less than 4 runs with the exception of two (four each game). Is he the same pitcher he was 3 years ago? Obviously not. No one gets younger, but "cooked" is harsh. His ERA was actually 3.06 before his last start.
  9. Heyman not hinting at anything of value going to Pads... Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 38s39 seconds ago Shields will lengthen chisox rotation, padres get $ relief once finalized. @BNightengale @Ken_Rosenthal @sdutdennislin on it
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 01:51 PM) It'd be 8.5 million a year on average for Sox if padres paid half. $21M in 2017, $21 in 2018. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/compensa...n-diego-padres/ Also, he has an opt-out after this season, but obviously he would be a fool to do so.
  11. If the Pads are eating half of his salary, that means the Sox will owe him about $11M a year. Will need about 1.5 WAR of value each year to make that worth it. Not a slam dunk, but not a tall order either from a guy who, outside of last year, was a steady 3 WAR pitcher, and was even on pace for 3+ WAR before his recent meltdowns.
  12. LHP Devin Smeltzer, a projected 3-7 RD guy, struck out 20 batters tonight.... TWENTY! on a 2-hitter. Not bad, kid. Here is video of him from a few months ago. Funky delivery.
  13. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) Anyone think the Sox and Ray pull off what Houston and Cameron did in the '15 draft? Cameron was coming out of HS. Ray is in college. I don't think it's the same circumstances.
  14. Wow, can't imagine how the friend feels who went out in the water but decided he was joking and turned his back as Donny drown. Horrible.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 11:49 PM) http://espn.go.com/mlb/features/cyyoung I'm not sure their methodology, but Sale is clearly 1st in AL and NL goes Arrieta, Strasburg, Cueto and Kershaw. That's nutty, I can see Arrieta, MAYBE...but Kershaw has 30 more K's than him. Of course, Jeff Samardzija is 6th. They not only include wins and losses, but also "bonus points" for players on divisional leading teams. It's a garbage system, ignore it.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 11:47 PM) Quintana isn't beating Sale for the Cy Young, sorry. I love Q, but Sale has been better is just about every category other than ERA (and even that is pretty close). Quintana better in BB/9, K/BB, HR/9, ERA, FIP, xFIP, WAR. Or as you said....just ERA.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 10:11 PM) As long as he has that huge image taking up the whole page, yes! At least he should change it to one of Monica occasionally, or Richard's latest attempt and Dinesh's Eastern European internet "galpal.". I went to college with a girl who was studying-abroad from Estonia. She is a f***ing babe. When I watch her snapchat story, it's like all she does is hang out with models. Estonian girls are f***ing BABES, man.
  18. 1/3 of the season in the books. Let's hand out some 1/3 season award winners for each league.... AL CY - Jose Quintana (Give him the edge over Sale for consistency) AL MVP - Mike Trout (Give him the edge over Machado for BB% and SB) AL ROY - Nomar Mazara (Seems to be a wide open race though) NL CY - Clayton Kershaw (Syndergaard is 2nd, but it's not even that close) NL MVP - Ben Zobrist (Daniel Murphy needs to walk more and not suck on defense) NL ROY - Corey Seager (But Steven Matz is pretty incredible too, Kenta Maeda fading)
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) It's actually a small miracle that Cabrera got it down effectively... Imagine if he bunts into a DP? Or pops it into the air? How many sacrifice bunts has he had in his entire career? Not sure, but someone tweeted that today was only the 4th time that a #3 hitter has had to bunt all season. I'm guessing the other 3 instances were a player pulled due to injury or something.
  20. QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 30, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) Finally I feel like we are all watching the same game. Bunting just doesn't work, especially when your best hitter bunts. I'm not someone who says "Kill the bunt". But I think each team only has like 2 or 3 guys who should ever be bunting. Light hitting speedy players, a pitcher, or your #9 hitter, whom is theoretically your worst hitter in the line up that day. Your 3-5 hitters should NEVER f***ING BUNT, EVER.
  21. I'm of the group that believes that MLB manager affect the game's outcome less than any other coach in professional sports, and that we can't really measure how good a coach is because of it, but I am FULLY on board with Ventura being fired at this point. MOSTLY because I hope it will shake up the team and change the attitude, but also because when he does make these odd choices that most managers wouldn't make (Robertson in there to allow 6 runs, Melky bunting, forcing Neil Walker to hit right-handed), they almost never work out (Walker smashed the ball to RF, but happened to be right at Eaton).
  22. Here is a better quote if he let Melky hit and he GIDP... "With your most consistent hitter up there all season, you have respect his bat enough to let him hit. He's in the 3-hole for a reason, to drive in runs, and it just didn't work out this time. Baseball is a tough sport, but I you have to have faith in your 3-hitter". I think we would have all respected that if the outcome was still a bad one and people had questioned the idea of not bunting.
