While I was in St. Louis last weekend for the Hawks game, my family was talking about a sports quiz I made up years back and I was able to actually find it on Sporcle. I think I've posted this here before years ago, but here it is again. http://www.sporcle.com/games/JoeCoolMan24/...houtCityorState Anyone get all 8?

Holy f***ing turnovers. Very lucky to come out with a point in this game. It was our brute offensive skills that saved our asses. A team with lesser firepower would have never had a chance. And for f***'s sake, get Carcillo out of there and let Teuvo play. -
I've done a lot of research, and I think I may end up biting on a One+1. Either that, or buy my sister-in-law's Galaxy S4 Active for $70, and wait on the One+2 to come out this summer.

According to my OOTP franchise, Jerry Reinsdorf will die on January 14th, 2018. Yikes.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 11, 2015 -> 05:30 AM) Did Avi say he was 14 years old when he was playing in rookie ball? At around 15 minutes...shouldn't he have been 16 at least? Yeah, he did say that. I wonder if maybe he got his numbers mixed up. His B-R page says he started minor league baseball at age 17. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 11, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) Versteeg is back tonight, Nordstrom sent back to Rockford, so Teuvo stays up but appears to be a likely healthy scratch today. In favor of Carcillo? f***ing kill me. -
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 11, 2015 -> 09:15 AM) Lol no it's not. It's a completely defensible choice. Castro is a much better hitter and is way younger/less likely to fall off a cliff this year. The choice is basically a wash. It's only a wash if you ignore baserunning, in which Alexei is one of the best baserunning SS and Castro is one of the worst. That factor tips in the scale in Alexei's favor IMO.

I'm not 100%, but I think my parents had me consolodate all my loans. I then had to pay like $70 a month for 10 years. That's $8400 in loans. But I decided instead to pay $120 a month so I get rid of my loans quicker. I'm someone who hates having any debt or owing anything. I prefer to pay things off or pay people back immediately. So by paying that extra $50 a month, I will cut my 10 year time down to like just under 6 years. And then once I get a real career and make actual money, I am going to up that to $150 or $200 a month and cut a couple more years and total money off.

For some reason I couldn't find the SoxFest thread, so I'll just make a new one for this. A comedian from Chicago hosted a panel with Avi, Flowers, Petricka, and Eaton and it was really quite funny. It's nice to get to know these players on a lighter note and more personally than just the technical questions that seem phoned in some times. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/video/topic/...favorite-things I particularly loved when the host was making jokes about Jake's big screen TV, and all the jokes about Avi's translator. Good stuff.

I like BCS a lot so far, but I do agree that the Chuck storyline so far is boring and mostly just weird. But I trust Gilligan and I certainly won't stop looking forward to BCS any time soon.

I think the Cubs need to trade Castro, Castillo, and Almora to the Phillies for Hamels. That would be enough, right?

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 10, 2015 -> 12:01 AM) wouldn't that money also goes up, if the sox get an additional player who may get a QO??? Well the Sox won't be offering QO's until next November, and this draft will have already passed. They didn't offer any this past November, so we get no comp picks. The signing of Robertson and Melky cost us our 2nd and 3rd RD picks, so our pool is much smaller. And because our pool is smaller, we have less opportunities to go under-slot with players to save money for guys that may be hard signs. This may force us to take a college guy with our 1st RD pick to save money for our other rounds to be able to take some HS talent. As much as I want us to get Daz Cameron, I think our lack of draft picks may prohibit us from doing so. The good news is that this draft is almost all college talent, so that should help us not have to reach to far or skip over better HS talent.

Shall we all make guesses on the first name that Melton will butcher? He already kept referring to our new closer as "David Robinson" at SoxFest, but I'm wondering when the games start and he has theoretically asked people how to say these names, and he STILL messes half of them up, who will be the first victim.

I don't get how they don't have a camera angle directly over the goalposts by now. That could have been the difference. -
QUOTE (kev211 @ Feb 9, 2015 -> 10:11 PM) That desert scene in better call Saul tonight was great. So happy to have scenes like that back in my life. Yeah, that was a great scene. I kept thinking back to last week's episode of The American's during the conclusion of that scene. I still can't shake that a week later. Also, I was really hoping Michael Mando would get a large and hopefully likeable role in this show, and it appears he is headed for just that. I think he may be Saul's Jesse. A guy that can help him get in to the criminal side of things.

QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 9, 2015 -> 04:41 PM) Best Buy just started selling no-contract ATT HTC One M7's for $150 When you say "no contract", do you mean unlocked? Because on BestBuy's website, I don't see that phone under their "no contract" section. They are all cheap go-phones.
-
Well, my phone is all the sudden freaking out. Constantly restarting itself and the screen sometimes won't come on. I still have a couple more moves to try out, mainly doing a factory reset on it, but I may have to suck it up and buy a new phone. I either have to decide to buy an unlocked phone, or enter in to AT&T's NEXT program. If I choose to do another 2-year agreement that I have always done (it's actually 18-months for long-time customers), then my bill goes up $25/mo. So then I am paying an extra $450 over those 18 months to avoid their NEXT program. So basically, I need to find an unlocked phone for under $450, or enter in to their NEXT program, which varies in phone cost, and forces me to go a 20-month plan. I've looked in to the One+ which is $349 for the 64 GB version, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any ideas. I'd really prefer not to pay anything over $200, but I think that is going to prove difficult.

Better Call Saul was real solid. Loved the reveal at the end, although that opening scene made me sad.

Oh, and this isn't NHL related, but the new Ballpark Village that is in front of Busch stadium is really great. Unfortunately for me, it was a family trip and we had an 80 year old great-uncle with us, so we didn't hang out in the big bar/mall complex, but if I lived around there, I would go there to hang out for every local sporting event. -

The stadiums was probably 50/50 Hawks fans, maybe more. Most Hawks fans did seem to get the memo to wear red, because there was red everywhere. Our section was almost entirely Hawks fans. Didn't really hear any s*** talking or much rudeness between either fanbase towards eachother. There was a baby a few rows behind us in a Hawks onezie, and they had a group of 5 or 6 younger guys maybe around 30 wearing Blues stuff. Well the guys all went to the giftshop sometime after the 1st period and came back bearing Blues gear for the baby. It was pretty funny and pretty nice for a rowdy looking bunch of fans from the opposing team. The stadium was pretty decent. of the 4 NHL stadiums I've been to now, I'd still rank Nashville as the best, then the UC, then Blues, then Detroit. 4-3, exactly what I predicted for this road trip. I'm happy.
