  1. Am I the only one NOT in to these dozens of comic book movies that come out every year? Seems like every other movie that comes out is about superheroes. Feels like such a cash cow and some Hollywood big wigs are laughing at the amount of money they are raking in by s***ting out comic book movies every few months. Just me?
  2. I still got my ticket and parking stub. And I captured pictures of Thome as he connected on his monster HR. I happen to be sitting in our usual skybox seats that night. Great game.
  3. Here is my toss-up this week... Sanu or Welker? I'm leaning Sanu.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 22, 2014 -> 10:17 AM) I picked up Tre Mason in all of my leagues. Here's to hoping Jeff Fischer realizes who his best RB is from here on out. I did too. Finally cut Zac Stacy off my team.
  5. Finished S1 of Peaky Blinders today. Pretty decent show. The setting and time period is awesome. The characters are really good and the story and acting is great. Only downside is that there is a ton of dialogue that slows things down, and of course having to have subtitles on the whole time. Can't wait to see how S2 is with Tom Hardy. I'm guessing he will be a bad guy so he can be a 1 season and done type role, but I guess I'll find out after the Hawks game. I'm just worried that since I'll be watching S2 through the Showbox app, I won't have subtitles to rely on like I do with Netflix.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 02:34 PM) You guys need to start playing daily fantasy on FanDuel or DraftKings. You aren't stuck with the same lineup of busts or injured players, you can mix it up every week and you can win money each Sunday. Although it can become addicting, lol. (And if you would like a referral link, I'd be happy to provide one ) After this horrible season, I don't feel like putting any more money in to fantasy anything. Heh.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 02:28 PM) I think it's because people try more when money's on the line. Nah, it's because Calvin Johnson and Vernon Davis were my 1st and 3rd RD picks and they've both been hurt all year. I'm losing games well within the margin of those 2 guys being healthy. Add to that Frank Gore and Zac Stacy were my RB1 and RB2 and they've been both horrendous over the past few weeks. I drafted a pretty solid team, one that should have me at least over .500 right now, but those injuries and those 2 RB have just murdered me in winnable games.
  8. This is the first time we've ever put money in to our league, and this is the worst I've ever done in my life. 1-6 now. I'm in dead last, and oh, lucky me, I just got a phone call from the local sporting goods store telling me that my trophy I put together for this league is now complete. Great, I basically have 0 chance of winning this thing and the season is only halfway over.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 12:24 PM) The problem with this theory is that Richard would have had to tell Tommy what happened to his dad. I think from what we've seen of Richard/Tommy, he was protecting Tommy as much as possible from that world. Especially after the massacre at Gillian's brothel/whorehouse. I would believe it if Tommy found out from other people what had happened, but like I said before, the timeline is like 5-7 years off for that to end up being Tommy, so I'm hoping it's not. What about Teddy Schroeder, or I guess, Teddy Thompson? He would be 17 years old at this point, and Nucky hasn't seen him since he was 10. Margaret says in S05E04 that Teddy is about to graduate from Industrial School. Maybe he just graduated and now has time to go find his dad? And maybe this is who Nucky will leave his business to?
  10. QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 02:23 AM) They did, in the form of a DLC called 'Bad Blood' which you, since selling your game, can't play. In Bad Blood you play as Raymond Kenny (I refuse to call him T-Bone, because its the dumbest name ever). Kenny's character is so incredibly more interesting than Aiden Pierce. His melee weapon is a stun gun and has a remote control car with its own skill tree. Its mind boggling, in retrospect, that Ubisoft could have released a new IP with such a dud of a main playable character. Even Clara would have been a better focal point. But anyway, Raymond Kenny is a badass and his safehouse is badass. You should borrow a copy from a friend and play through the DLC (should take 20 hours or so). Also in the DLC is a new set of gang attacks that are co-op online. Haven't tried that yet (and likely won't) because Ubisoft's Watch_Dogs multiplayer servers are so laggy its pointless to even try to play. The DLC is 20 hours long? I typically never buy DLC based on principle, unless it's on sale for like $2. But 20 hours sounds much more substantial than "Here are 5 new cloaks and 2 new missions and a shiny weapon skin!" If the DLC is that big, it may be a stand alone download, like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, which so far is the greatest DLC ever created IMO, and I won't need the disc.
  11. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 09:44 PM) That's a massive overpay - no one pays that price anymore. And if it was true, why didn't they take it? Probably because those teams never offered those things, at least not all together, otherwise there is no way TB settles on that putrid return they accepted.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) If we could find another Spencer Adams type in the comp round, I'd be all over this. That was kind of my point. If you can get ANYONE's comp round pick for Tank, then do it, because all those guys got picked BEFORE Spencer Adams did, and he's an immediately top 3 pitching prospect for us.
  13. Because video game trades are realistic, I FINALLY started my franchise on The Show, and my first moves were to trade for Grandal and Tyson Ross, then trade for Drew Stubbs to play LF. Viciedo and Wilkins are my platoon DHs.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 08:08 PM) I don't think she did it to get him closer to her. I think she just fell in love with Brody over time I don't know, in both cases it seems she is justifying her actions initially because it will help her do her job, and then in both (or at least the first time), she ended up falling in love. We'll see what happens this time around. I'm sure they won't drag us down that path again. He probably gets killed or something.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 06:51 PM) It may be a little too silly to think about, but screw it, trade DV to a team in the comp rnd and for their pick. I will be happy. Would you trade Spencer Adams for Dayan Viciedo?
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 07:48 PM) Wasn't that exactly how it started in S1 with Brody?
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 06:43 PM) Well, because he was used for that purpose. I don't think he actually set a pick. He engaged first.
  18. Not nearly as exciting or important as most of the real jobs you older members posses, but it does appear I will FINALLY be moving on from my HS Chili's job that I've worked at for 6 1/2 years and moving up slightly to a part-time job at Costco. Still not the career job I am seeking, but in the meantime it pays much better, has great benefits, and *should* be a less hostile environment since my GM at Chilis and I do not get along very well. At the very least, this job may allow me to move out on my own if I can pull 30 hours or so a week. I should be making about $1200 or so a month which sadly is about 3x as much as I am making now. Thank god I'm not materialistic, because I'm actually managing to save money on my $100 a week I make now. lol, that's so sad.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 03:24 PM) I laughed about this argument after seeing Denver's first TD last night... Do you mean because the ref set a pick?
  20. I finally beat Watchdogs. Really solid gameplay and beautiful environment, just a bad storyline. If they make a sequel with new characters, it could be a favorite game. Somehow I was still able to trade it in for $23 at Best Buy. Gamestop and Amazon were only offering like $10-$11 for it. Probably going to get Madden 15 soon. Amazon has it for $45.
  21. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 01:26 PM) Yeah, another way for Nucky to try and redeem himself. It really sucks that the show is ending and that this last season is compressed. Getting Capone and the rise of Luciano and Lansky could have been entire seasons. Instead it's basically taken care of in 1.5 hours. I think they're also making the characters act in ways to match the plot instead of the other way around. I have a hard time believing Nucky would just show up to that meeting and expect Luciano to keep his word. These are guys that have tried to get you wacked multiple times. Why not call up the other New York boss and have him come with his X amount of goons and trap Luciano and Lansky right there. Also, it's hilarious that a song "My Girl's p****" was (1) an actual song and (2) a popular song. Oh my god, that's real? Looks like I've got my new ringtone.
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 12:17 AM) Well for Price they got a promising starter and, what, a Semien? And that was for more years and in the July seller's market. So I don't see the price as sky high. I wouldn't do it anyway as the Sox have other needs and don't have the prospects for 1 year contracts. Anyway, what I would do is try to trade Viciedo for Domonic Brown. Similar players, change of scenery, Viciedo's 2 years younger. Sign a league-average right handed starter; preferably one without a QO Sign one of the relievers. Not a closer though. Maybe sign Headley; I like his D Trade Gillaspie for a LF. I lean to the sign Headley and trade Gillaspie because we need better IF defense and I don't see any really interesting LF. I'd like to get Michael Saunders out of Seattle (I used to hate him; now I like him). Maybe take a big swing and trade Alexei for him and one of their relievers? Flowers handled the position really well this year, with few days off. I'd stay put there for now. Well, the Price trade isn't a great example because pretty much everyone agrees universally that the Rays got a horrible deal there. Some rumored returns for Price included Joc Pederson, Tavares + Shelby Miller + 1st RD pick, 2 of Aaron Sanchez, Daniel Norris, and Dalton Pompey. Basically, packages MUCH better than what they actually got.
  23. Also, Homeland.....come on now. I had that feeling last episode w/ Carrie, but I thought I was just being crazy. I can't believe that is actually happening now. She just continues to disgust me.
  24. Next week is the series finale of Boardwalk? Wow. So obviously Nucky and probably Eli and most of Nucky's gang is going to die. Not sure yet what will happen with Will, or with Gillian, besides being saved by Nucky. Also, I feel like this Joe Harper person has to come back and play some role. No way he is just gone now. I've seen some rumors online that think Joe Harper is actually Tommy Dormody. But the timeline for that would make Tommy 13 or 14, and Joe Harper looks to be around 18-20. I guess Joe Harper is the name of a character from Tom Sawyer, so people think Joe Harper from Indiana is just a fake name. Would have been really cool if it was Tommy, but the timeline just doesn't add up.
  25. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 09:39 PM) For Chilihead90, and Eminor3rd or anyone else, pls explain how he is overrated? For his hitting, 3 yrs at 20+ hrs a yr, hitting avg an avg of 260+, fielding avg of 970. but the rest of the advance stats I do not know. so how are you grading him, unless it is your own opinion. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...eyo01-bat.shtml I may be wrong in my math. He is overrated, but that doesn't mean he isn't a pretty solid to good player. Derek Jeter was probably the most overrated player I've ever see in my life, but that doesn't mean he still wasn't great. I feel like Cespedes is regarded as a perennial all-star who can completely change a lineup. He's not. .260, 23 HR, .316 OBP career averages with average to well below average defense is comparable to like Marlon Byrd's 2014 season. In fact, their seasons were very similar. Cespedes - .260 avg, 22 HR, .301 OBP, 5.4% BB, .450 SLG, 109 wRC+ Byrd ------ .264 avg, 25 HR, .316 OBP, 5.5% BB, .445 SLG, 109 wRC+ Not saying they have the same value, obviously, just saying people think of Cespedes way too highly in my mind when his bat really isn't very elite, and his defense has never been above average. He's a nice bat to have, but he's not a bat you NEED to have.
