  1. My god, Nelson Cruz was running like Bartolo Colon out there. I thought he was drifting with the ball the whole time, and he was apparently sprinting. LOL.
  2. 3-3 now for Wilkins. Davidson drew a walk. 1-2, BB, HR, K now. True Outcome Performance.
  3. What a f***ing tightrope act. I hate you tonight, Robin.
  4. My god, 104 pitches must feel like 130 pitches to Chris right now considering like 70 of those 104 pitches were stressful pitches.
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 08:01 PM) Lol you and your insults to players. I hope they don't read Soxtalk.
  6. Keon Barnum, have yourself a game dude. 3-3. Unfortunately they are all singles. Hitting .389 in the very brief 2nd half of this season.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 07:50 PM) One more inning would be OK, but I would not be upset if Sale threw his last pitch of the night. I would like him to just be done right now at 5. But I wouldn't flip out if Robin let him pitch in to the 6th until he allows a baserunner. But so help me god if he goes past that, I will be most disappointed.
  8. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 07:48 PM) I know its tough to do, but I think we need to skip Sale's next turn up in the rotation. The continued over use of him by Ventura has caught up with us and the extended rest is needed. All Star Break is coming up soon in 3 weeks. Skip his start right before the ASG so he can get his 1-2 innings in there and have 12-13 or so days off.
  9. Wow. Breath a BIG f***ing sigh of relief and hit the showers with 5 WELL EARNED innings today Chris.
  10. Wilkins is 2-2, his 12th HR. Micah is 2-3.
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 07:32 PM) I don't know if there is a team with a worst system than the Brewers. Before the draft this year they had Jimmy Nelson and... Well, yeah. Apparently the Sox system is worse. And I'm just a homer for thinking otherwise.
  12. That was an excellent job by Flowers to take a straight fastball right now the middle. Nothing you can do with a fastball right now the middle but just watch it blow through your wheelhouse and turn around and walk back.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 07:29 PM) Ehh. There's really not though. He will end up signing around the deadline for the same money that he could take today. It's not the old system. They can only offer so much and I bet it's been offered. I agree. He isn't going to get more than we can offer. And I can only assume we are offering everything we have left to get him. So at this point he hurting the reputation of his player, and reminding GMs why they may hate to deal with the guy.
  14. Thank god for the reputation of Sierra's arm. He caught it flatfooted in mid-to-deep RF. Can't believe they didn't test the throw.
  15. Anyone catch a glimpse of where that 2nd pitch, called a ball, lit up on the digital K zone??? I'll give you a hint, the ENTIRE BALL was in the zone.
  16. Is that not reviewable or something? Because even on the replay it didn't look like it hit anything.
  17. How do you not throw him all sliders when you know he is bunting? Don't just pipe a fastball down the middle....come on....
  18. So I've been engaging in a stupid and mostly time-wasting argument with a guy on another forum who claims to be a "prospect professional". He has a prospect book on Amazon, so he feels like he is the authority on prospects. Anyway. He is adament that the Sox system is the 29th or 30th farm system in baseball. He isn't quite sure if the Angels farm system is worse. Despite the fact that I told him all the major publications rank the system somewhere between 21-27, he insist Rodon is the only worthwhile prospect, and the only one who is a top 100 prospect. Thinks Courtney Hawkins, Micah Johnson, Tyler Danish and all those guys are pretty much garbage. Just to try and see how ridiculous he is willing to go with this, I compared the Brewers top prospects to the Sox. In case you were wondering, the Brewers are considered the 2nd worst farm system, and of the top 7 prospects or so in the Brewers organization, they are ALL having terrible seasons, except for 1 pitcher they have who is dominating. One particularly interesting opinion he has is that Orlando Arcia is a better SS prospect than Tim Anderson.
