  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2014 -> 06:11 PM) I hear Kolek and immediately think Colt Griffin/David Clyde, but that's because he's from Texas and a high schooler. When I hear Kolek I think of Jonathan Broxton.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 9, 2014 -> 06:02 PM) I got to ask, why do people not like Kolek? Cause he throws too hard? Seriously? Dude has a big frame, protypical work-horse. Could he get hurt, sure, but so could anyone else. I don't like him because throwing hard is the ONLY thing I ever hear about him. I hear about Rodon's sick arsenal of plus pitches, I hear about Aiken's great control and being a lefty, and then I just hear that Kolek throws hard.
  3. It's against forum rules to post pictures relating to Brandon McCarthy that aren't this one, and only this one, now and forever....
  4. QUOTE (LDF @ May 9, 2014 -> 04:42 PM) who owns CSN ? NBC?
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 9, 2014 -> 04:17 PM) Rams Dline is insanely good. Rams are a good team...well if they can figure out how to get Bradford to not suck. They need a wideout. Watkins and Tavon Austin would have been fun. Instead, they are just going to rip QBs faces off.
  6. Man, I really hope Rodon gets f***ed up tonight. I'm very worried that Rodon/Aiken go 1 and 2.
  7. Also, doing a draft it appears you can actually go like all 90 RDs or so for the draft. LOL. We won't be doing that. I am think we do 30 RDs, that way we all get to take 5 prospects we want, then the rest are randomly assigned. I'll be honest. I picked the Astros solely because I thought I would inherit their awesome farm system. But either way, I love quirky parks, so the hill in CF will be fun for me.
  8. You guys want to do an Online Fantasy draft Franchise w/ OSFM Hybrid Rosters v. 1? If you don't know the Hybrid version of OSFM rosters, it's this.... - http://www.operationsports.com/forums/mlb-...tial-setup.html They are planning on having this done by Sunday. I can probably get a couple other guys to join in from another forum as well. Draft on Monday night maybe? I've never done a fantasy draft before, so I am not sure how long it takes. From watching videos online, it looks like you do 25 rounds. So with 4-6 teams it may take us like an hour? Anyway, who wants in? I'll be taking the Astros.
  9. If Law really does have Gillaspie going that late, then that would be awesome if he slipped even further and we were able to do Aiken/Rodon, Reetz, and Gillaspie. I'd be rock hard for that.
  10. Once again, dumbest player in baseball, ladies and gentlemen, Alejandro "Rocks in his head" De Aza.
  11. Oh man, my Rams got a couple nice hosses on the line in Greg Robinson and Aaron Donald. SO, SO, SO, SO glad that Jerry Jones was just f***ing around about the Manziel thing, used his head, and got a stud like Zach Martin to protect Tony Romo. Really need to go defense on the next 3 rounds though. That defense is absolutely horrendous.
  12. Alejandro De Aza = Dumbest player in baseball
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ May 8, 2014 -> 04:24 PM) Am I the only one sticking with Orphan Black? I like some of the revelations so far. I watch it, although I haven't seen last weeks though.
  14. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 8, 2014 -> 02:34 PM) Law has ol' Casey Gillaspie all the way down at #72 I have a feeling we're going to end up with Jakson Reetz at #44 Reetz is the kid I want, assuming there are no big slips to the 2nd RD, like Finnegan who I had targeted with that pick a few months ago before his stock rose up dramatically.
  15. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2014 -> 12:49 AM) Because you look like a f***ing clown and are bastardizing the jersey and colors. There are plenty of legit options, pick one of them. But it makes it really easy to spot the idiots, so that's one positive. While you're at it, put your name on the back of it. And order it from China so it looks f***ing awful, too. Lol. Oh god.....
  16. Buddy Bell said today that Micah Johnson is likely to be promoted soon, to AAA. They just have to find him a spot to play.
  17. Give me one of Rodon or Aiken and I'll be very happy.
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 7, 2014 -> 06:26 PM) There's nothing wrong with the old black sweater - the ones identical to the current reds and whites - I have one. Or the WC alternate from years ago. What I have a problem with is the stupid grayish accent midnight electric one or whatever the f*** it's called, that isn't a real jersey. And, I hate the WC one from this year because the logo looks awful due to the NHL chromifying everything. Or he could have worn a green one like a complete idiot as well. Also not a real jersey. But yeah, Steve deserves to get b**** slapped regardless. Who gives a s*** if it's a jersey the players actually wear or not? Are we trying to fool people in to thinking we are a bench player sitting with the regulars that game?
  19. Getting crushed in my first game, but man, this game has some really slick animations. I wouldn't say the graphics are amazing, but the ball physics and the movements are more fluid. I absolutely love the camera they have now for hitting and fielding. While on one hand it makes it hard to judge where a ball will land, on the other hand the hits seem more realistic. I am seeing balls tail more, knuckle, groundballs with topspin, and slicing line drives. Although, I am getting my ass kicked with Quick Pitch. I love the feature, but it really makes it hard not to walk people. I am pitching with Noesi, and I've probably walked 5 batters in 3 IP so far. I am getting killed 7-1, bottom 3rd. I crushed a HR foul with Abreu, and then struck out. He is 0-2, 2 Ks. Konerko just tallied my first run with an RBI single off the wall in LF, scoring Eaton. Eaton, I should add, is super realistic. Looks like like him, similar mannerisms, it really feels he is playing. They even managed to get Beckham's follow through on his swing down pat, which is weird. I hit a deep flyball to LF, and on his follow through he did the 1-handed bat point like Gordo does sometimes when he gets around on a ball and pulls it. EDIT: I lost 7-3. I ended up turning down the pitch speed like I usually do. I outhit them 10-7, but those walks killed me. Abreu ended up 2/5, RBI. Alexei got my lone HR. Cleto/Bellisario pitched the final 7 innings and did well. I still ended up walking 8 batters, striking out 9. Only 2 of the 7 runs I allowed were earned. LOL, thanks Alexei and Beckham.
  20. Just took a peak at Abreu's attributes. Despite being a 77 overall by SCEA's version, he does possess very good POWER attributes. They gave him 84 PWR vs. RHP, 90 PWR vs. LHP. The closest comp I saw was Jose Bautista, who had 88/90. In fact, I think Bautista, Miggy, Stanton, and Chris Davis may be the only guys with better power ratings. It appears Jose loses a lot of his overall rating to contact 54/58 (ouch), plate vision 34 (way too low) and plate discipline (50). I did this to some of his ratings..... Contact vs R - 54 -------> 60 Contact vs L - 58 -------> 65 Plate Vision - 34 --------> 60 Plate Discipline - 50 -----> 70 Fielding Ability - 54 ------> 65 Fielding Reaction - 53 ----> 65 He turns in to an 84 OVR, which is more reasonable, IMO.
  21. Got to use my new bat tonight, and man did I not square anything up. I went 3/4, all bloop singles in to the OF. Now even though I was swinging for singles to RF, I was trying to hit line drives over 2B, but instead I ended up hitting bloops with crazy backspin that just faded over the infield and in front of the OFers. The results I wanted, but I usually I am at least squaring up my bases***s. The wind was a real b**** though, blowing straight in. Not a single ball hit by either team had an OF take a step back. We ended up winning by slaughter rule, all on bloop hits and groundballs. Everything in the air had crazy hangtime and didn't go far.
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:09 PM) When I get it, I'll be making sure to bump him up like crazy. I'm going to toy with his ratings, but I'm guessing he will end up around an 81-83 with an A potential. That seems fair considering in 3 years he could be 90+ and an MVP candidate.
  23. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 6, 2014 -> 05:17 PM) The OS roster had him 74 OVR I think, I bumped that up to around 79-80 and upped his potential a bit. I offered to help them adjust White Sox ratings. I had suggested they take a baseline of Cespedes attributes, and work upward from there.
  24. QUOTE (Tmar @ May 6, 2014 -> 03:31 PM) No, computer generated Which is what happens any time a player changes teams, so it's not a big deal anyway. I'll still be using the OS roster versions though for my Online/Offline franchises.
