QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) I had a Creative mp3 player and it was a drag and drop system - download music off napster, drag the file to the Creative folder and drop. Very easy. Itunes was the game changer. No other competitor had a ready made store to get music - individual songs especially - for cheap. All at a time when the whole Napster thing was dying and people were getting sued for ungodly amounts of money for downloading music. Plus, they brilliantly made it difficult (and impossible for a while) to transfer your purchases, so if you spent enough money you were "stuck" with Apple products. Some continue to be that way because it's not worth the hassle of trying to get your content onto another device. Yep. I had a couple Creative MP3 players and they were incredibly easy to add music to. Never had to fuss with that iTunes bulls***, which also kept me from ever being enslaved by the Apple ecosystem. I just wish they had made a good touchscreen mp3 player back then and I would have never had to have switched to a Zune HD because those Creative Zens never gave me any issues.

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) Bucket has said McCann, Pence and Abreu are all on the big board. Pence obviously having signed long term with the Giants since. As they should have been. I'm still crossing my fingers like I have been for the past 3 years or so for Gerardo Parra to man CF for the Sox.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) Well done. Calm down, I was just mentioning a hometown player you may have heard of since you said you broadcast HS games in The Region, I wasn't making a statement. I don't follow HS football, I couldn't tell you what teams were good or not. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 02:04 PM) But who cares what the typical consumer thinks...even if you told them the truth, you'd not get them to believe you. My original comment said "people". The typical consumer IS what I was referring to.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) Why do I feel like 99% of the posts on this site disagree and hold him strongly against the scouts? (interestingly enough all these posters are furious that the Sox didn't draft Trout). Are you a part of that 99%? Because I don't put blame on anyone for the Mitchell situation, it was just unfortunate bad luck, and that happens.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 09:48 PM) I just think it's a fantasy to believe that Mitchell will ever be a big-league player. He went from AAA to AA this season and struck out 96 times in 247 ABs at Birmingham. He doesn't have any power. It's almost as if the Sox refuse to admit they wasted the money on another football player like Fields and Borchard. One day they'll learn. The reason they should admit defeat on Mitchell is because an injury derailed his career, not being under talented or scouted poorly. If the Sox cut him loose, it shouldn't have to be a hit to their pride, because it was an uncontrollable factor that caused him to be worthless. He's not a blackmark on the scouts.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 09:40 AM) As someone who broadcasts HS football covering the NW corner of the state, even the Penn's and Merrillville's of the world get their asses kicked in Indy. It is a whole other level down there. The rest of the state is no where near that. Gelen Robinson, yo. -
Because of the good guesses have been taken..... Brewers 6 years $66M

Joe Crede was a below replacement level 3B defensively in nearly the same amount of games play when he first joined the White Sox. SHOULD HAVE MOVED HIM TO 1B.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 08:21 AM) Deep and well articulated. Well worth a new thread. I'm more impressed that someone is willing to dismiss him in CF with that sample size, than that the thread police showed up.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) They did invent the ipod, just not the MP3 player. Right, but I mean no other company can invent YOUR brand name product. That's like saying Honda invented the Civic. Well....yeah....it's THEIR brand, no one else could have ever invented the HONDA Civic. That's why it sounds so stupid to hear people say that. It's probably because they have no idea that an ipod is not a category of devices, it's a brand of mp3 player.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 08:59 AM) That's not why people praise Apple. Nobody credits for Apple inventing smartphones or tablets, or even all-in-one desktop PCs. They praise them because they take something others are already doing, but make it really GOOD and practical/usable. Apple didn't invent smartphones. Microsoft had them for eons, and I owned multiple versions of WM4.x to 6.x phones from Samsung ... and if you've ever used one, you'd know how bad they were. Apple took the smartphone and made it a device people wanted to use. Tablets were much the same, existed for years will full on desktop OS's clogging them up, and Apple took the idea and made it a device people would WANT to use. Others have then taken Apple's design cues, and practicality, and arguably made even better devices than they did, too. People credit Apple for great design, because they actually have great design. You and I may know that, but the typical consumer does not. You may be surprised how many people I know think Apple invented smart phones, mp3 players (except they typically say things like "Apple INVENTED the iPod!" which is painfully stupid to hear), and tablets. I find most iPhone users to be completely oblivious to technology, which mostly consists of college girls. Seems in college that most of the girls have iOS phones and most of the guys have Android phones.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 11:28 AM) Finally, someone gets where I'm coming from. I honestly don't even know who Alison Brie is. I mean, I've heard the name, but I wouldn't be able to point her out. She must not star in anything that I watch.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 09:34 PM) She's 18 and was barely that when filming started. Does not that make her legal?

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) So you were taking one of the only substances known to harm almost every organ in your body and youre passing judgment on other people. Not sure if that falls under the category of "smart" or "hypocrite". (edit) Oh and to be clear, if you ever have any hesitation about taking any drug, listen to your instinct and dont take it. It should not matter what anyone says or tries to convince you of. If you are not certain you want to do something you shouldnt do it. I was more just commenting that you also should judge others because they may like something different than you. I really dont care, people should do what they enjoy. I just dont want it to sound like Im saying people should do drugs, because Im not. Who are you talking to?

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) 4K touch Mac display? http://9to5mac.com/2013/10/07/will-the-mac...mac-looks-like/ It looks pretty cool, but I don't see the practical use that would justify the (probably high) cost. But if they do make the touch screen computer, people will credit them for inventing it and praise Steve Jobs for some reason.

Proximity and being very Irish, and it being huge in our family is why I'm a Notre Dame fan. I go to Ball State, which is why I'm a Cardinals fan. Both are pretty legit reasons. The only team in ALL my sports that I like for no GOOD reason is the St. Louis Rams. I just gravitated towards them when I was younger and they had Warner, Bruce, Holt, Faulk, Archuleta. Purely bandwagon reasoning for how I came to like them. Every other team I like is either family or location based.

Ball State is 5-1, and are near the top in most offensive categories. If they keep this up, we could be only the 2nd team in NCAA history to have a 3 players in the top 5 in D-1 football in Passing Yards, Receiving Yards, and rushing TDs. Our QB Keith Wenning is 2nd (18 short of 1st), our WR Willie Snead is 2nd, and our RB Jahwan Edwards is 1st in TD. I think it's been a solid year so far. Can't wait to face NIU. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 05:11 PM) Of course, but Brody's daughter? Show me Alison Brie nude and I'll get excited. Alison Brie isn't in Homeland. Of all the actors on the show, I want to see Morgan Saylor naked.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 05:33 AM) You're acting like you just got out of prison or something. There is a thing called the internet with loads of boobs. Alright buddy, like you've never wanted to see anyone naked before because "The internet has naked people". Pleeeeeease.
