  1. Ill give it a listen right now. EDIT: Said they have heard whispers of scouts who say Vaughn should be 1-1. Think there are no pitchers who are top 10 worthy right now. Think Adley is an outstanding defensive catcher, which is something I hadn't heard yet. They don't see the Orioles taking Vaughn, because Vaughn could be up in 2020, and would not fit their timeline for the rebuild. Said Bobby Witt has the highest ceiling in this draft. Thinks Abrams has less of a chance to stick at SS, may move to CF. Fastest risers are Misner and Stott. Could be top 10 guys. Don't think Misner can be a CF. Might have 70 raw power. Stott might not stick at SS, but should be above average 3B. Will likely be drafted and tried out at SS to see how he does with a bigger frame. Aren't sure what to think of Carter Stewart. Maybe mid-late 1st RD. Consistency is an issue, but stuff is great.
  2. I've decided that I am officially campaigning for RHP Drey Jameson to be our 2nd RD, 45th overall selection in June. Is it because he pitches for Ball State? 90% yes. The 10% is because he was mentioned on the MLB Pipeline podcast last night as a pitcher with serious helium right now. He is 6 foot, 165 pounds. Callis said that he throws upper 90s, has a very hard slider, and if the draft were today, he would go in the 1st or 2nd RD. Seems to be a bit herky-jerky in that delivery. Nice break on those sliders. Looks like he flipped in a slurve there too at some point. Control was a huge issue with him in 2018, but holy smokes he has 39 K's in 23 IP so far in 2019 with 6 BB.
  3. Vaughn was 0-2 with 2 walks tonight. At least one of those outs was a strikeout with the bases loaded. They will play a double header tomorrow.
  4. I was just kidding about the underhand toss, my point was that all it took was a routine throw to 2B once he looks over and see Garcia standing out there.
  5. He was flat footed. He was not charging in on the ball. All it took was the 2B saying "Hey, underhand toss me the ball here at 2B because this runner is stranded in no-mans-land". It's the same stuff that Javy Baez gets credited with, being wrecklessly aggressive and lucking out. EDIT: I went back and watched it. He was not flat-footed, but he did field the ball behind the 3B, with plenty of time to stop and turn to 2B. Doesn't really matter, he got away with it, but I didn't like the the broadcaster calling it great baserunning when it was not.
  6. Nicky, after taking a few steps, will now be carted of the field. Maybe a concussion, as he looks fine physically but seems very shaken.
  7. Delmonico might be hurt. He jumped in to the fence in LF to make a catch, dropped it because he sucks, but the gate opened as he hit it and he never got up. Inside the park HR.
  8. Moncada with a great eye, per usual, drawing a walk. Bases loaded for Abreu.
  9. Luery was 15 feet off the bag when the 3B had the ball. All he had to do was look to his left and Garcia would have been dead to rights.
  10. Anderson steals 2B. Then gets a great jump to steal 3B, but it's washed away when the pitch nails Yolmer.
  11. TA7 is a line drive machine. Another bullet in to LF, scores Garcia.
  12. Bad baserunning by Luery there, but he gets away with it on an Eloy grounder to 3B.
  13. Moncada turns around a FB as a RHH and splits the gap for a 2B.
  14. Next batter, Jones serves up a belt-high FB to Saladino who crushes it to CF for the HR.
  15. Nate Jones has NO idea where the ball is going. He just took a line drive off the heel of his foot, and the ball lined straight to Moncada who caught it for the out. Made the throw to 1st base just in case, but that ball was caught cleanly off of Jones' heel.
  16. Rodon has looked very good. His slider is biting and he's locating it well enough to get swings. Eloy smashes a chopper up the middle that Davies was able to stab and turn in to a double play. 0-2, 2 double plays for Eloy.
  17. TA7 slashes a line drive to RF on a 3-2 pitch. Nice job going with the pitch.
  18. Eloy strikes out and then gets called for interference, so Jay is out trying to steal 2B as well. Odd looking play.
  19. I guess we will just have to disagree what the phrase "having 9 lives" means.
  20. Disagree. There are 0 people better in this org right now.
  21. Very nice inning for Rodon. A few ugly swings and jam shots. Inning ends with a slick over-the-shoulder pop-up caught by Alonso. Great play, Yonder, now kindly get the fuck off this team.
  22. Adam Engel has played exactly 1 full season in the major leagues. He only has 1 more month worth of games than Moncada right now. Hell, even Leury Garcia has played almost 100 more games for the Sox than Engel has. Weird to say that he's been given 9 lives. Now AVI was given 9 lives. He played over 600 games for the Sox over 5 seasons and was bad in all of them expect 1.
  23. I am off work today, so I look forward to watching this entire game before I have to go play volleyball tonight.
  24. I would have to say Cole, Rendon, and Grandal probably fit best. But if Tim Anderson just continues to be an ok, 2-WAR player, then I'm great with them signing Bogaerts and either trading Tim away, or finding a new position for him in CF.
