Have you SEEN he has a slow bat, or are you basing that odd of his lack of HRs, which could be more of a launch angle issue, or approach issue. Everyone says he has huge raw power.
-
I'll bet you Greg's house that at least one of those 4 guys is available at pick #3.

Guy, I think we have both died on the Jakson Reetz hill.

Mitch Haniger credits Lisle with reworking his swing.

A Fun Game To Play- Who Won The Trades? Gio Gonzalez

Yup. With the #3 being the most one-sided of all of them. -
So happy for Rami Malek. He was amazing as Freddie Mercury. I can't wait to see that movie again.
-
Exactly. I could mostly careless about mock drafts until about April. That's why I keep saying I someone else emerges at #3 instead of Vaughn, or Vaughn does so amazing that he gets taken #2 and we get our choice of someone like Adley, Witt Jr, Abrams, or any other guy that shoots up the boards. Maybe like a Josh Jung or Stinson.

While not technically HS, Anderson was considered an extremely raw but toolsy athlete, and was only 19 when drafted out of JuCo.

I would be against the Sox signing him for 8 yrs/$330M, to be honest. 10 years, fine. But $41.5M AAV or whatever the math is on that.....yikes. Machado should be the better player over that time, so an extra $10M a year would be tough to rationalize.
-
Yeah, I think you are right, except reverse the White Sox part. I think the Sox offered what they offered, Lozano countered with $300M and the Sox said "No, we will comfortable at this amount", and then the Padres said yes to $300M. That makes way more sense than Lozano not shopping a Padres offer back to the Sox.
-
They weren't even close to offering Machado $350M. They controlled whether or not he got $250M or he got $320M. Consider those final 2 years of $70M as team option years because they didn't want him to reach 550 PA, then be wouldn't reach 550 PA. And they almost certainly would not want him to pay a 35-36 year old Manny $70M over 2 years.
-
We need him, or Eloy, or Giolito or Lopez to give us something like a 3.5+ WAR for sure. We need more all-star caliber players if we aren't going to try for superstars.

Will Yonder and Jay be gone by midseason?
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't mean to upset anyone by posting my own tweet, but the video happens to be uploaded on Twitter right now and that's easier than seeing if I can upload a video to this board...... But speaking of REM, you and I are on the same page.... -

I was of the same opinion up until Manny's press conference today. After Manny said how much Jay and Alonso talked about how great SD is and how helpful they we're in his decision to go there, FUCK THEM. Get them the FUCK off this team. They were brought here to help recruit Manny. Jay wouldn't even have Major league job right now if it wasn't for Hahn giving him $4M to be a recruiter, and instead, they both helped Manny choose San Diego. I'm just as mad as I was today about that than I was when SD first signed Manny. These fucks have no room on this roster after pulling that shit. Their loyalty was bought, especially Jay, when they were acquired and they both fucked up. Fuck them. -

Rebuild: Phase 3 has officially begun
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
And Phase 2.....continues. -
Yup, I gave him a B as well. He's done a great job building a system. But he can't get an A until he ACTUALLY supplements this roster with FA talent, or trades.
-
The thing that I don't like about this projection is they don't really expect anyone to get BETTER. Once we get the full breakdown tomorrow I will go position by position, but even our young guys, Moncada, Anderson, Lopez, Palka, Engel, Yolmer, all regressing in 2019 (Moncada stays at 2.0 WAR). Rodon is the only guy who sees a bounce back year, but it still on puts him back where he was in 2016, it still doesn't make him a viable #1 or even #2 starter in a good rotation.

Full breakdown coming tomorrow.

RON IN 2019: Thinking of cheering for the Cubs next year
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I love my MiLB.tv package. I went to about 15 Sox games last year, and every game I was at I was pulling out my phone to watch Eloy, Collins, Madrigal ABs. -
Yeah, I was 100% going to get it this year (I skipped out last year), but now that the Sox will have done nothing exciting for 2019, I might just skip out on it again. Sigh.

That's not what he said.

Several people said that to me today at work. They assumed it was my dog or a grandparent.
