  1. They didn't "eventually respond only when she escalated it". She never sent them an email. When she said she "asked for credit", she is referring to when she quote-tweeted their tweet and said that the video was actually hers. They have 1.5M followers on twitter. They can't possibly expect to see 1 person interacting with their tweet, especially by quote-tweeting it, because now it requires them to actually go to her page to see the tweet, instead of them reading the comments under their own tweet. She made no real effort to try to get their attention, and then made no real effort to respond to their attempts to reach out to her.
  2. I think Robert starts in A+, but I could see Madrigal starting in AA, or if not, only spending a couple of weeks in W-S before getting promoted. I think ending the season in Charlotte is a real possibility. He's very advanced.
  3. If Vaughn can play 3B or LF, I am all-in on him. Really not hoping a 1B-only guy is the 3rd best player available come June.
  4. I feel like at some point he should be "allowed" to sign with a team, but I have no idea when that is.
  5. You can't possibly expect them to vet every video that gets sent their way to figure out where the original source is from, right? Look how many versions of the same videos you can find on Youtube and Facebook uploaded across dozens of accounts. How do you expect them to know who the original is, especially when it's snapchat videos. I would argue they DID respond to someone who wanted credit. They reached out to her dozens of times across a variety of platforms to get her attention. She has every right to just say "No, fuck off" even one damn time and then she's totally got all the sympathy. But acting childish and ignoring them to.....try to prove a point I guess, makes her look bad too.
  6. Costco has a Boston Go card for $94, and it includes access to pretty much every museum, tour, activity in Boston, including bike rentals and trolley rides. So I think we are going to get that card. It lasts for 3 days, and includes one "Premium" ticket. We are going to select Whale Watching ($55 value) as our premium ticket, since we already have Red Sox tickets. https://www.smartdestinations.com/boston-attractions-and-tours/_d_Bos-p1.html?pass=Bos_Prod_Go&allInc=true
  7. This doesn't enrage me as much as the Padres late interest, because we already know by this point that Harper's reps and the Phillies had been meeting, and their interest was well established from the beginning. This isn't the Phillies suddenly getting the bright idea to go after Harper in mid-to-late February. This more likely points to them being more in on Machado, and then once Machado signed with the Padres (February 19th, qualifies as mid-late February), then the Phillies shifted all their attention to Harper while Jerry farted on his hands.
  8. I mean.... she could have just replied, even once, and said no. Meh.
  9. Burdi pitched in the AFL this fall and was hitting 97. Not near his 101-102 from college, but he was eventually shut down from the AFL as a precaution due to arm fatigue. He's good to go now. I expect he would start in AAA Charlotte and make the major league club sometime in the late spring or early summer if he responds well. He was pretty close to being called up in 2017 before he got hit with TJS.
  10. You mean tell it to those who WEREN'T rooting for losses, when the best course of action would have been clearly to lose more games?
  11. I disagree, I'm pumped to see Charlotte because of guys like Eloy (for a couple of weeks), Cease, Collins, Zavala, Burdi, Dunning, Lambert and Flores at some point. Of course there is a lot of fodder there too, but our system is starting to move up the ranks. Charlotte and Birmingham are probably my favorite teams to watch this year. Just sucks that Birmingham has an AWFUL broadcast for milb.tv
  12. Maybe Graeme Stinson is someone that could slip to the 2nd RD for us. So far, Adley is the only player who a FV above 50, as he sits at a 60 FV. That would make Adley the best offensive draft prospect since 2016's Corey Ray had a 60 FV. And if you put Madrigal in this year's class, he would slot in #2 behind Adley with a 55 FV.
  13. Yup, agree. I got my MiLB.tv package ready, I'll be down in Indy for the Chiefs home opener when the Knights come to town. I am going to NC in September and hoping to see some Knights, Dash, or Kanny games if they are still playing.
  14. Psssshh, Harper was drafted out of JuCo. ?
  15. As much as I don't want a 1B to be the BPA at #3, you're right that he would fit our time table the best. If Cahill thinks he could be the 1st one to the majors from that class, we are talking sometime in 2020 if he's going to be the 1st one. That means the Sox would only need a stop gap 1B for 1 season until he's *potentially* ready.
  16. Anyone else going? I know there is usually a large presence of Sox fans that travel to these games down in Indy. This will be my 3rd year doing it. 2 years ago the park was full of Moncada t-shirts and my lone Moncada custom jersey. Last year the buzz was because Kopech was going to pitch (I bought Saturday and Sunday tickets because he was scheduled to line up for Saturday, but got pushed UP a day to Friday, so I missed him). This year obviously the excitement will be Eloy and Cease. They play a 4-game series, Thursday through Sunday. I just bought my tickets for Thursday and Friday (Damn girlfriend and her damn friend's wedding on Saturday). Tickets are super cheap, only $15 for the MOST expensive seats. I'll be sitting in section 211, row 1 for their season opener on Thursday (left to the Sox dugout side of homeplate on the "upper" level. And Friday I will be sitting 210, row 1, DEAD CENTER behind home plate. I actually prefer these 200-level seats because you get a great view of the entire field, it actually overhangs the lower level, so I am actually about 15-20 rows back from the field, but the 1st row has always been open so there is no one in front of me and I can put my feet up on the berm. It's great.
  17. It's like you guys have never heard of a hate-fuck.
  18. He's up to 5 HR, 13 RBI, 14 BB, and 3 Ks in 9 games. Would be nuts to see more HR than Ks on the year.....FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW. According to my research, the last time someone did that, other than Vaughn in 2018, was Anthony Rendon in 2010 when he hit 26 HR and 22 K. The Baseball Cube has been tracking college stats since 2002, and Vaughn's 2018 margin of +5 HR over K's on the year is the largest margin, tied with Khalil Greene in 2002.
  19. Oh god. I need to stop clicking anything but game threads on this site. The cancer is spreading.
  20. That's my thoughts as well. I'll still end up going to about 12-14 games, will enjoy freely moving around to open seats, but will just abstain from buying any merch.
  21. Saying the Free Agent class is WEAK and saying that you don't think the Sox are going to target all the top end talent are not the same things. If Anderson continues to just be ok in 2019, then I have no issues with them going after Bogaerts and either moving Timmy to CF or trading him.
  22. It's definitely not weak, and you're the only person I've seen characterize it as such. If you are classifying "weak" as not having 2 26-year-old superstars, then my guess is you've never been impressed with free agency before.
