  1. So what line is LeBlanc playing on, Sunday? I don't know anything about him. Offensive minded forward? Defensive? Physical? Speedy?
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 02:40 AM) It is a dull offense, but I still maintain if we could get excellent starting pitching and combine it with top notch defense, we could have something here. I think we are going to be supporting one of the worst offensive teams in Sox history, or one of the worst offensive teams in road games in team history.People could support a team strong on defense and exceptional on the mound, though. Oh man, 2007 wasn't that long ago, where were you? 3rd worst in Runs per game, last in AVG, last in OBP. That team had Jerry Owens, Danny Richar, Josh Fields, Rob Mackowiac, Alex Cintron, Daren Erstad, Andy Gonzalez, Toby Hall, oh my god. Jim Thome led our team in average, batting .275, just a god awful team.
  3. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 11:16 PM) Watching Col @ SD and they just showed a replay of the two Greinke pitches in a row that nearly took Quentin's head off. That looked pretty bad, and really, I think anyone showing a replay of the recent occurrence should include that clip either immediately before, or after said footage. Got a link?
  4. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 10:15 PM) Wow, Jose Reyes looks hurt bad. He's writhing on the field. Sliding into 2nd his ankle bent under him. Ahhh, the curse of my fantasy team begins! Poor Jose, he looked poised for an awesome season in TOR.
  5. So far, 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K for Erik Johnson in AA against Mississippi. At 92 pitches, may start the 8th.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 07:06 PM) dianagram ‏@dianagram 1h Over 60,000 HBPs in MLB history, Quentin's was only 42nd on 3-2 pitch w/bases empty, no out, trailing by run http://bbref.com/pi/shareit/zO2QxQuentin's … #mlb What a painfully specific stat to try and move how rare something is. When you pinpoint something that closely, you are bound to find a small number. How stupid.
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 04:04 PM) No. Nobody deserves to get charged. I don't feel bad for him because, quite frankly, Greinke seems like a d-bag, but charging the mound is stupid as hell and solves literally nothing. Well agree to disagree, because I think if someone continues to hit you and then have the audacity to talk s*** to you about it, you get what comes to you. It's a shame AJ never got the chance to charge Padilla.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Yeah, this is meathead logic. This is a microcosm of how people end up in jail and dead in a gutter. "Well he shouldn'ta looked at me like that." I understand both sides of this. Greinke shouldn't have thrown, Quentin shouldn't have charged, this is all really stupid. Except instead of "looking at me like that", it's "This guy continues to throw s*** at me, and then when I stand up for myself, he has the nerve to say something s***ty to me." Greinke deserved to get charged, but not get his collarbone broken, that was a fluke.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) Violence is the answer!!!! LOL at Greinke being the saint in this situation. Like Q said, if Greinke doesn't talk s*** to him, nothing happens. You run your mouth, and no one feels bad for you when get hit. See example: Pierzynski, A.J.
  10. Last time Greinke hit Quentin, for those who think there was no history here, and it was a random explosion of violence from Q.... http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...87&c_id=mlb Lol at Hawk foreshadowing the beatdown, 4 years prior. Haha.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 03:21 PM) And Quentin could have avoided a suspension and breaking Greinke's collarbone if he's the bigger man. He needs to just walk away in that situation and get him later in the game. You don't get paid to fight and you don't put runs on the scoreboard for throwing punches. Quit excusing your actions because someone else opened their mouth. I don't think Quentin gives a s*** if he is suspended 2-3 games or whatever it may be. Talk s***, get hit, Greinke's learned his lesson.
  12. If Grienke kept his b**** mouth shut, he wouldn't have a broken collarbone right now. Q even said in the post game interview that this could have all been avoided if Grienke didn't say what he said to him, but instead he mouthed off like a b**** and took his punishment.
  13. Kemp is such a thug. Why is he getting so involved? Stick up for your pitcher, sure, but looking to right Quentin in the parking lot? Grow the f*** up dude. Your pitcher, who has a history with this hitter, hits the guy. Then, as he stares him down, Grienke says something to Quentin and he reacts by charging him. Then, in an attempt to fight back, Grienke breaks his own collarbone when he lowers his shoulder and smashes in to Quentin. I'm with Q on this one.
  14. New Kid Cudi CD is garbage. He has fallen a long way since Man on the Moon.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 09:01 PM) Why, again, did we not make a bigger deal of Alexrod inexplicably being given the 5th starter spot? Because despite Axelrod being an awful pitcher, he always managed to do a solid job somehow. But believe me, I was the one raving about Santiago after that Brewers ST game saying he should be getting the nod over Axe.
  16. My god, these Nats announcers are so annoying. This must be what it's like listening to Sox games for opposing fans, except I don't feel like Hawk treats every inning like the 9th inning of a playoff game. These dudes yell about everything.
  17. Nats announcers - "That's veteran pitching right there. Put a guy like Konerko on base and go after a guy you can handle in Ramirez." Oooh, so you are saying he was trying to hit Konerko? Right.
  18. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) Ok, after giving Breaking Bad a fair chance, I like it. I finished season 1 and have started season 2. It took a bit to really start going for me, but when it did, it became very good. Like other said, every season is better than the previous one. I think the show kind of plateau'd in season 5, but that still makes it a great season.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) This guy is going to make a ton of money....... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...me-machine.html Sounds more like a fortune teller, not a time machine.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 06:32 AM) I stopped watching Americans. It;s just ok to me. I can see why some people may like it. There are better "new" shows out there though. Try "Orphan Black" on BBC. It's all kinds of awesome. I've been posting about Orphan Black here for weeks. But it's only 2 episodes deep, and it's a lot more "interesting" than good so far. American's has at least given me almost an entire season now of great story.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 08:10 PM) Saul might be getting his own show... http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/br...pening-20130410 On a show where lots of people die, it's a shame that we will already know Saul survives. Not that I wanted him to die, but I liked knowing that anyone not named Walt could be killed at any moment.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 04:52 PM) From what I saw in the first episode, it is garbage. I haven't watched anymore. That was enough for me. I'm not saying all episodes are garbage, but that was the cheesiest garbage I've seen on FX ever. The Americans is awesome. Best new show since Homeland, IMO.
  23. I can't stand Thornton was not dumped this offseason. The guy has been hot garbage for a while now, especially in high leverage situations.
  24. Gamecast says LaRoche is getting boned on this pitches. Both called strikes looked pretty far outside.
