My dad bought one of those $100 Monster HDMI cables when we got our big HDTV 5 or 6 years ago. I argued against him, but he wouldn't listen. I bought a 4-pack of HDMI cables for $7 about 7 years ago now, and they still work perfectly.

2012 TV Thread
Dexter was crazy. I honestly have no idea what to expect. Homeland was sweet. I think the daughter is going to become a Muslim too. Boardwalk was solid. I still can't seem to remember how the hell Van Alden got shacked up with that woman. I don't remember her at all. Also, I hate that there are so many characters that we only see a handful of them every other episode. Last time it was no Eli, or Van Alden, or Harrow. This time it's no Rothstein, Al Capone, or Chalky.

Reverse standings, draft order
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) The saving grace is that next years draft is supposed to be one of the weakest in memory. That's what they said about 2012's draft too, but we've actually seen some early success so far.

Reverse standings, draft order
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/reversestandings2012 Alright, time to start rooting for losses. We have 83 wins (3 games left), Milwaukee has 81 wins (3 games left), and Arizona has 80 wins (4 games left). We currently sit with the 18th pick. We would own the tigerbreaker vs. both the Brewers and the Dbacks. So best case scenario we can get down to #16 in the draft order. Let's go Cleveland, Arizona, and Milwaukee!

Revisiting 2008
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 01:39 AM) I was starting my senior year of HS. It was after school and I was there for an indoor volleyball tournament. I knew it was going to be a huge game, so I brought my dad's little 5 inch portable black and white TV because I knew the game was on WGN, and I might be able to pick up a signal. Low and behold, I was sitting in the stands with a small crowd around me as we watching Alexei blast that one and everyone erupted. It was a great evening, and I'll never forget it. Oh yeah, then the next day my dad calls me at school and says he has skybox tickets for game 163 behind home plate. So I guess seeing that was pretty cool too! Ha. Griffey shows off his gun to home plate! Thome sends one on to the Fandeck... Celebration ensues!

Yeah, I'd say Vizio is the best value TV out there. Mid-to-upper-tier quality for low-tier price.

Steve Stone NOT leaving
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) So I assume Paciorek has forgiven Hawk then? What happened between the two? I became a Sox fan in the Hawk and DJ era.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) Indeed like giving up 5 runs 1.1 innings. both games in high leverage situations The 3 ER in 1 IP was not high leverage.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) numbers are easily inflated from one bad game I believe only the game were he went 1/3 IP and gave up 2 ER. The other game vs. Boston where he allowed 3 ER in 1 IP was not high leverage. Sox were winning 7-2.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:12 PM) A lot of that came from giving up 5 runs in an inning and a third in games vs the red sox (the back to back games i spoke of) eliminate that and youre looking at a 2.25 ERA since July 1st (7 runs in 28 innings) I'll just keep reposting until it sinks in..... Low lev - .187 opp avg, 1.42 ERA, 0.83 WHIP Med lev - .296 opp avg, 2.95 ERA, 1.50 WHIP Highlev - .307 opp avg, 6.88 ERA, 1.65 WHIP

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:08 PM) They're both bad. Yeah, but Wise hasn't done much lately, may as well give Danks a shot. I also want to see more Dan Johnson, he's had some great at-bats.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:05 PM) Don't we want pitchers who throw strikes? Ok, I get jokes. But seriously, he should never be trusted in any inning past the 7th, unless Sox are up or down by 6 runs or more.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) Lol minus 2 back to back games he got smashed hes got a low 2 era in the 2nd half...he gave up a walk...that didnt score I don't give a flying f*** what his overall numbers are. Fact is, he is absolute horses*** in high leverage situations, and not very good in medium leverage situations either. Look up his splits. Low lev - .187 opp avg, 1.42 ERA, 0.83 WHIP Med lev - .296 opp avg, 2.95 ERA, 1.50 WHIP Highlev - .307 opp avg, 6.88 ERA, 1.65 WHIP He has NO BALLS.

Thanks for coming in and putting your only batter on base. You are a true treasure. God I can't wait to kick that asshole to the curb. He's the new Will Ohman, except Ohman had stretches of being good.
