John Danks trade ideas
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) If they take all of Marks contract, no one is about to give us anything of value for him. And they certainly won't take Mark ($14M), Pierre ($8.5M) and Teahen ($4.75M). That's adding $27.5M in one trade. That would be insane.

John Danks trade ideas
How abouts...... John Danks to Yankees for Brett Gardner + Gary Sanchez/JR Murphy. (Pending the Yankees sign Crawford) Yankees get a lefty SP in Danks, White Sox get a speedy, LH OF who gets on-base a ton, and a catching prospect from the Yanks. Yankees adding Crawford would make Gardner their 4th OF, and the Yankees have 4 catching prospects in their top10 prospects. Sanchez is 18 yrs old, Murphy is 19.

2010 Fall TV Thread
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 09:05 AM) You're just attracted to pregnant chicks. FYI for those that don't know this: Dee and Mac are married in real life and she is really pregnant. Also Charlie and the waitress are either married or dating....i forget which. And Pete and Kevin's wife in The League are married in real life.

2010 Fall TV Thread
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 08:09 AM) You really that that was funny? It seemed like it was written by a 6 year old. Yeah, Potato the ghost monkey was really the only part of the episode I didn't like. The witch thing and Kevin's "adult halloween party" were pretty hilarious.

Steve Perry is a sell-out
Ahhh, this is bulls***! I wonder if Aaron Rowand is going to sing it with Uribe and Lopez at the WS parade in a week or so....

Brewers ask to talk to Cora
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) You mean bench coach? Yes.

Brewers ask to talk to Cora
If Joey gets job w/ Brewers, apparently Ryne Sandberg is a possibility for 3B. I am not a Cubs hater, but I think it would be hilarious if this happened. Cubs fans would throw a fit that Hendry drove Sandberg to us.

Midwest Cyclone Tuesday/Wednesday
So apparently that knocking at the door at 10am this morning was the R.A. warning us about the tornado in town and maybe being on the 4th floor was not a good idea. We didn't answer the door, oh well, I enjoy my sleep.....

5 years ago today - 10/26/05
5 years ago today the Chicago White Sox ended a 87-year World Series drought. The White Sox defeated the Astros 1-0, in what was a 4-game sweep, and completed one of the most dominating post-season runs ever as the Sox went 11-1, lead by historic pitching performances. Don't Stop Believing!! Feel free in join me and my friends as making the picture below our Facebook default for today.... http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_yKSo5xPjLpM/TBgs...phy-Posters.jpg

Eastbound and Down Season 2, September 26th
Probably the worst episode of the series so far. I don't like my Kenny Powers to have emotions and feelings. I like my Kenny Powers rude, crude, and banging hoes.

Totally random observation...
They have definitely changed the baseballs since then. Bigger seams give the pitcher more leverage for rotation and bigger spin on pitches. They have made the seams as small as possible now to benefit the hitter. Same as the lowering of the mounds and other such things they have done over history to "nerf" the pitcher.

Trade Candidates for Kenny this offseason
Quentin has more value to us than any other team.

Trade Candidates for Kenny this offseason
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Not a trade question, but when is the date that teams can sign FA? Is it like 15 days after the conclusion of the World Series? Just wondering when I should start checking rumors 10-12 times a day.

Music Thread
Starting listening to some more Macklemore, and I'm really digging it. I've liked a few songs of his for a few years now, but I just recently downloaded a mixtape of his and starting listening. Real enjoyable songs, especially "And We Danced" and "American" (of the new songs I hadn't heard before)

Arizona Fall League
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 21, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) You failed to note one key point...the Sox have a scheduled 2012 opening in LF for an OF, assuming no one is signed this offseason. Not to mention the obvious need to move Quentin to DH if he's even still there (if he performs below this level at all next year he becomes a non-tender candidate). There's still a 5% chance that D2 could step up and grab that, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were thinking of a Mitchell CF, Rios RF, someone else OF for 2012. Where did Juan Pierre run off to?

John Danks trade ideas
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) The Cardinals have absolutely no need for a starting pitcher considering they have Carpenter, Wainwright, and Garcia all under contract and need to save any and all the money they can to put together an offer for Pujols following the 2011 season. At this point in time, the Cardinals would gladly take 2 WAR from Colby Rasmus instead of 4 WAR from John Danks if it saves them $7 million which they can put towards a long-term contract extension for Albert Pujols. Why you gotta make things complicated? We need an OF, they would like to get rid of Rasmus. Just agree and we can move on, and then you can buy me a French Dip at Portillos.

Mitchell went 0/4, 2 K. He is striking out a TON. Escobar went 2/5.

Alexei Ramirez
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) He wont get the GG, but we all know he deserves it. Him or Hardy, but we all know it will be Jeter or Andrus. And I thought about posting this article, but then I remembered it was Sporting News....so....

Send Danksy to STL for Rasmus. Fill in other players where needed.

Eduardo Escobar featured on MILB.com
QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 01:28 AM) Would it be possible to imagine an infield defense of Morel, Escobar, & Becks for at the next 4-5 years? Obviously the development of Escobar as a hitter has to continue but it could be a great double play combo for a few years. Morel showed some good contact and has room to improve. Only thing in the grey area is 1B (Konerko or Viciedo)? I would think Escobar has to be getting groomed as trade bait, unless he can be a slick fielding 3B too, and out hit Morel. I don't think Alexei gets moved out of his SS spot for a long time, especially since he has to be the best defensive SS in the game right now. And I don't see the Sox moving Beckham back to 3B, so I would think that Escobar has to be the odd man out unless he can prove he can play 3B, and then Morel gets traded.

Eastbound and Down Season 2, September 26th
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) wtf It was a very obvious picture of said coach. They zoomed in right on his face. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) Yeah, it looked JUST like him, but I was wondering if they were going to allude to his dad being a former pitcher too. Or maybe his dad actually had a picture on that very same wall, and they will come back to that later.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 06:06 PM) u can't possibly be this hard-headed. You don't use the word dominant for a Brent Morel. He had a solid season. That's it. You're getting all confrontational for no reason. Just admit you used the wrong word and move on. I'm using "good" now so you ladies can sleep at night. K, thanks.
