Soxtalk's Biggest Loser Club
So.....clearly this is an old thread, but I recently started to try and lose weight. I am pretty overweight, really. I am actually not nearly as big as I weigh, I guess I hide it pretty well. Here is a picture of myself from about a month ago. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like I don't look like someone who weighs close to 300 pounds.... 5'11 Starting Weight (4/7/10) - 272 LB Trips to Gym - 8 times Current Weight (4/27/10) - 268 LB Total Loss: 4 lbs Pretty happy w/ that, just wish I had more time to go. With being a full time student, having a job at school, being a devoted Sox/Hawks fan, and leaving every weekend, it's really hard to find time to go during the 4 days I am usually on campus. My workout is generally the same every time. I start on the eliptical machine and run between 1-1.4 miles in 13 minutes. I then go and do 3-4 sets on the rowing machine. It's one where I sit on a sliding seat, strap my feet in, and then pull back on a row chain and push back w/ my legs. Looks like this.... I also do 3-4 sets using a 15LB kettle weight where I stand with my feet about 2 feet apart, hold the weight straight out in front of me w/ one arm, then crouch down, bring the weight down and through my legs, then swing back up, switch it to my other hand in one motion, and then go back down again. I do this for 1 minute straight, then do the rowing for 1 minute, then go back and forth. After the rowing and kettle weight, I go back on the elliptical and jog for another 13 minutes and do about 1-1.2 miles. So I end up w/ about 2-2.5 miles total. Total workout takes me about 45-50 minutes. It has seemed to work for me. The best part is that I still have not really changed my diet very much. I eat less snacks, and more water, but I am not a salad person, or eating vegetables all the time. Still eat the normal cafeteria food and the slice of a pizza a few times a week.

4/28 Games
Is it just me, or has it seemed like Flowers has not been playing much lately? Did not play the 18th, 20th, 22nd, 25th, or 28th.

Meh, no thanks. I would rather take Lance Berkman since he will come much cheaper.

Which ex-Sox Player Would You Want Back for 2010 Team?
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) True story. With Pods on this team, we'd at least have 12-14 wins, stellar left field defense, and a true threat on the bases. GMAFB. Pods alone would do jack s*** for this team, there are far too many other problems with this abomination of a baseball team. Yeah, his .371 AVG, .438 OBP, and 8 SB would be a really awful addition to this line-up.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) And the exact person that Walker's struggled to help over the years. Why do our players always struggle in their soph seasons? Case in point, Quentin. Well, it's not called a sophomore slump because it's rare....

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) For all you haters, I'd like to point out that we went 3-0 with Campbell back. Campbell is my 2nd fav. player. And we are also 4-0 when I don't wear any Hawks jerseys, and 0-2 when I do.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
This Vancouver series is going to be very tough. They played us as well as anyone this year. Outside of Detroit, Vancouver scared me the most.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 09:10 PM) How do you give up a 2 on 1 with 6 men on the ice? And how the f*** do you call a penalty while the team who caused the penalty doesn't even have the puck. Talk about ruining a great goal scoring chance. WOW.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) They said in the pregame show that Kanes goal at the end of Game 5 was the first time in NHL playoff history that a team scored shorthanded in the last minute of a game to tie it up. It was technically a shorthanded goal, but it was a 5 on 5 really.

White Sox - Cubs Trophy.
I like it. Adds to the fun of the series. In CFB, they have a lot of rivalry trophies they pass back and forth. I like this.

4/25 Games
Is it just me, or has it seemed like Flowers has not been playing much lately? Did not play the 18th, 20th, 22nd, or 25th. And we have only scored 5 runs in those 4 games that he did not play in over the past week.

Any time Jenks comes in for the save, Thornton needs to be warming up ASAP.

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Why NOT just give Lucy some starts? What could it possibly hurt, ANYONE could match AJ's production this season I think Ozzie is saving Lucy for starts w/ Peavy. If there is really a Peavy-AJ beef going on, then Oz needs to let Lucy catch him.

Ahaha, what a laughable swing by Brynes. Danks fooled the s*** out of him.
