Does the recent success of Ely and Gio Gonzalez
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to caulfield12's topic in FutureSox Board
Ely is dominating the Cubs right now. 5 IP, 0 R, 1 H. His ERA is down to 2.95, and his WHIP is around 0.94. He has still yet to allow a HR this season.... -
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!

At least SI got it right... "This time, Buehrle flipped his glove off and was immediately ejected by West, who stood with his arms folded near the first-base line." -

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 26, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) Check out this major spin job by Yahoo sports: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-whitesox-ejections First, he dropped his glove. Second off, it'd be nice if they reported the facts and pointed out that the pickoff attempts were clearly not balks. MLB.com has this... "West called the second balk with one out in the third inning, tossing Buehrle after the left-hander threw his glove to the ground in frustration." I would say it was a flip at best. -

Part of me wants Bobby to blow this thing so we can just release him or officially kick him off closer duties. I feel like if he gets this done Ozzie can just say "Well, see, he got the job done, and thats all that matters". -

QUOTE (gordonventura38 @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) Gordo looks helpless against a curve ball right now Yeah, or the slider, which is all he saw that last AB. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) Just woke up. I saw Buehrle got ejected. What did he do? I can't imagine Buehrle going crazy arguing w/ an ump. Did he hit a batter? Nevermind, Hawk filled me in. -

With the Indians bad offense, and Peavy having a good month of May (save his last start), I think this could be really good for us. -
Episode of Breaking Bad tonight was just god awful. Worst episode they have put out by far. Only Walt and Jesse in the whole episode, no other characters, and the whole thing was about a fly in the meth lab........ Seemed like all the actors took a vacation at the same time, and Bryan Cranston and whoever plays Jesse were the only two wanted to work, so they wrote a bulls*** filler episode. Very disappointing.

Thank god Dan Hudson dominate today, we really need him to pan out because Freddy Garcia won't last all year.... Huddy - 8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 11 K Despite a pretty high ERA, Hudson has been dominant in AAA this year w/ his peripherals. In 48 IP, he has 59 K and 14 BB. That's an 11.06 K/9, and a 2.6 BB/9. Those are both pretty great numbers. BB could be a touch lower, but that 4.2 K:BB ratio is outstanding. I am so glad this 23 year old kid came out of NO WHERE last year to pitch in Low A, High A, AA, and AAA and win the award for 2009 Pitcher of the Year in all of the minor leagues.

Morel is up to .321. Is it wrong that I love watching Teahen fail? In Brent We Trust!

QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 23, 2010 -> 10:32 PM) Jenks, Putz, Linebrink and money to cover most of Linebrink's salary for Domonic Brown. Maybe throw Mayberry in too. I wouldn't really want to clear out all 3 of them at once, or for just 1 guy. That's a lot to replace.

Can I really be the only person with a Golden Retriever? People here are awfully original! Haha.... Casey the purebred Golden Retriever.... As you can see, she likes to jump up and put her paws on the railing of the deck and look out. She is actually incredible smart, but probably the most wussy dog ever. We try and wrestle w/ her to get her to play bite, but she refuses to. You can pull her tail and punch her in the face, and she will just wag her tail, it's almost discouraging.

QUOTE (Lillian @ May 23, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) Forget Mayberry. He's another right handed hitter. This organization needs to find a left handed bat. How about someone like this: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=502126 Oh man, I would jizz in my pants if we got him. No chance of it happening though unless KW can be creative, or the Phils are THAT desperate.

I feel like we just need to keep stealing wins from the LOLNL, and then hopefully if we can come out of the interleague play with a record over .500, then we can realistically try and make a push. Unfortunately for us, the Twins and Tigers get to feed off NL teams as well.....

QUOTE (goblue5699 @ May 22, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) I think the gun is a little hot right now, Gavin hit 96 a few times today and I don't think he throws that hard. That's what I was thinking too, but MLB Gameday backs the velocity up for Jenks. Also, it has Thornton at about 96-97, which is pretty accurate.
