  1. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) Jones has 388 HRs. 3 years a go you would've easily said he was a lock for 500 If he plays until he is 40, he certainly has a chance.
  2. LOL, a fan yelling, "Please Jim, please come back! You can live at my house! Please come back!" Ahahaa.
  3. QUOTE (RyanPaleAndHosed @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) Was it a month? Felt more like a week. It was actually about 1 1/2 months. Somewhere around like May 19th when he pitched against the Cubs is where he absolutely fell off a cliff.
  4. If you have an MLB.TV account, just go and have the game on your laptop so you can see replays. That's would I would do.
  5. A couple years ago I was at Wrigley, and the lady a couple seats down the row was on her laptop doing work. It was a week day, and apparently she was allowed to leave work and go to the game, as long as she still did work during the game, so she sat there on her laptop and watched the game and did work in between innings. Seemed like a sweet life to me.
  6. I will be cheering him on, and even stand up and clap if he hits a HR vs. us, just like I did with Crede.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:33 AM) I assume the Sox want him lining up with Garcia. Hmm....good call.
  8. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) What? He exists. Plus, it seemed cheap letting the Yanks just have a A-potential 'spect they traded away. Yeah, he exists in Japan. Are you telling me they made him a free agent on the roster they made too?
  9. Why did Hudson not start the AAA season for Charlotte? Late game scratch? I figured our #1 pitching prospect would be the #1 guy in the rotation.
  10. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:16 AM) Could be Boston tho. No, it's definitely the White Sox. He wears his Sox hat all the time, and has specially said "white sox" in his songs.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:52 PM) I kept Crede at 3rd. Teahen & Holmberg for Granderson. Pierre for Uribe. Castro & Ommogrosso for Gonzalez & Poreda (HOW?) Signed Yu Darvish (made him from A. Vazquez, the Braves prospect from Javy trade, there are doubles) and traded back for Holmberg. You made a Yu Darvish? Haha, you cheater! I hope you made him like 34 years old, because thats how old he will be when (if) he comes over.
  12. Someone just tweeted this to Teahen..... "maybe Teahen should let @EspyTeahen bat ... the dog can't be any worse at this point" lol
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) Getz is a hard worker who will be a .750 OPS player at his very, very best, unless he lucks into a .320 average or something. He is not a very talented major league baseball player. Mark Teahen does have talent, and at his very best he is probably an .850 or so OPS bat. Expecting a .750 OPS or so out of him is pretty reasonable. Anybody wishing for Getz back after now 3 games is jumping the gun just a little bit. Not really. I don't view Teahen as any offensive upgrade over Getz, but Getz at least brought more speed. Also. Getz costs considerably less money.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) teahan looks like it's punishment to send him up for an at bat. And on defense for that matter. Man, I would love to gave Getz back.....
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) Would anybody have bet we'd not win this series after that efficient if not spectacular Game One performance? I assumed 2-3 and hoped for a sweep. It was harder to be any more optimistic after Game 1. I am just hoping these 2 bucket-of-suck games were weather related s***fests.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) JIM THOME JUST HIT A THREE RUN BOMB!!!!! That is the best/worst news I have heard all night.
  17. QUOTE (hawkubes @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) Im joining the conversation late, but I am gonna be sick to my stomach if Mark Teahen is in the starting lineup tomorrow. The guy's been brutal, and imo he cost us the game tonight I still can't believe he grabbed that bunt that was a sure thing to go foul. Still pisses me off.
  18. Do you ever hear the White Sox mentioned in a song, and you immediately like that song just a little more? I just had one of these moments... http://www.rapbasement.com/audio/lupe-fias...down-remix.html Shining Down (Remix) - Lupe Fiasco feat. Young Buck I already like the original, but I figured I would give the remix a listen. After hearing the first 30 seconds I was thinking "Meh, I am not a young buck fan, I think I like the original better". Then all the sudden I hear Young Buck say the Chicago White Sox, and it immediately go my interest and made me download the song. Weird how that works.
  19. I agree w/ Jones in CF. But Rios needs to be in RF, and Quentin should be the one DH'ing, not Pierre.
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 02:21 AM) You make me sick. Yes it was...... about 4-5 years ago. What's your fav. ESPN show?
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) I voted First Take because Skip Bayless is the most worthless analyst since Mariotti. I would have mentioned the Scott Van Pelt Show just for his co-host idiot. I dislike both especially after the Perfect. Skip Bayless claimed it was nothing special and Van Pelt wasn't there and his co-host didn't mention the perfecto, because no one likes to hear about anything but Brett Favre and Michael Vick. Good call, I really like the Scott Van Pelt show too.
  22. Sportsnation is my favorite show. Beadle is fun to look at, and I find it's actually really entertaining. Not where I go to get sports info, but I really think it's entertaining. I hate Rome is Burning. All that 5'1" little pipsqueak does is rant and crap all over everyone and every topic. He makes up dumb nicknames for people, and acts like he is better than everyone else. Pisses me off. Can we all at least agree that Baseball Tonight is the BEST show on ESPN? I loooooooove me some Baseball Tonight.
  23. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 01:24 AM) You haven't been on soxtalk very long I see. We've had players, minor leaguers (and their parent) and columnists (and there were rumors of a scout and maybe people in the front office) on this board, or at least lurking. Names, Names, Names! The only one I remember is the guy who said he was a scout. Was that the same guy who scooped the Wilder investigations? I have been a member here since Dec 2007, but have only come back here this offseason.
