  1. I think when Buehrle pitches however, we need Uribe and Anderson out there. Buehrle relies on his defense, and we need all we can get when he pitches. I think we put out the best offenses for Danks and Floyd who will need the run support, and put out our best defense for Buehrle who dosen't strike people out.
  2. As much as I would like to think this would make a differnce, it won't. Otherwise, you wouldn't see Doug Eddings anywhere near a diamond anymore because im sure he got hundreds of emails from every angels fan, as well as the mass media that was going on during the "dropped 3rd strike" fiasco.
  3. Man I really want to see these commercials. I loved the one with Freddy and Takatsu that was like Wasabi and Jalepeno or something like that.
  4. He is currently a blocked prospect according to MLBTR - http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/03/blocked-prosp-2.html Lillibridge would be nice to acquire at the deadline, or in the offseason to fill the SS spot. If we can cut Cabrera lose, and Uribe is gone, Lillibridge could take over SS, and Ramirez can play 2B. That would be a pretty nice young infield of Fields, Lillibridge, and Ramirez (not Paulie). Lillibridge put up a .400 OBP in 2006, and in 309 Minor league games, he stole 105 bags, and had an 85% steal rate. Not sure what the price would be on Lillibridge, but if Escobar continues to play well, it will only help.
  5. The Freddy Garcia trade (both times) was pretty good. Jeremy Reed (hasn't done anything), Miguel Olivo (backup somewhere?), and Michael Morse for Freddy Gacria (Good Freddy who helped win us a World Series), Ben Davis, and cash. ALSO Freddy Garcia (Injuried) for Gavin Floyd (potentially good #4 starter), and Gio Gonzalez (got us Nick Swisher). Basically Freddy Garcia has been great for this organization.
  6. It looks like 4 people with shaky hands accidentally clicked on the "Nick Masset" option and logged it in. This should be a no-brainer.
  7. QUOTE(JorgeFabregas @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) 21. And he OPSed .319 in rookie league.
  8. QUOTE(JorgeFabregas @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 03:35 PM) As real as a heart attack. He had a few rookie league ABs last season and didn't do anything. How old is he? Like 16?
  9. DJ - "And off his FRIGGIN hip". Haha. DJ didn't say a word the rest of the game. They probably cut his mic off. lol.
  10. The only reason that Uribe is the starting 2B is because the org. dosen't want to rush Ramirez by throwing him into a starting job right out of the gate.
  11. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 05:05 PM) Major League pitchers throw primarily 70-80% fastballs. Yea but at least those other pitchers probably have other good pitches to compliment. He basically just said all he has is his fastball, and if I read that, im sitting fastball every single time. If his other pitches aren't good as well, you won't have much trouble.
  12. Damn, now I regret my AT&T service.
  13. I cant tell if Brian is any better than he always was. He looks to be a LOT better at seeing whats a ball and whats a strike, but jesus, he still takes those terrible hacks at low breaking pitches, and he makes some ugly swings at some other junk as well. It's good to see his eye has improved though, and this will force pitchers to throw better pitches over the plate, and he will get more to hammer.
  14. Jew-Power!! I think Poreda sounds great and all, but I didn't like reading that he says he wants to throw 70-90% Fastballs, and his secondary pitches are "good enough". I don't think he will be able to survive on 70-90% fastballs in the majors. Big league players can smash fastballs, he needs at least 1 more great pitch before I can see him doing anything in the majors.
  15. This sucks. I can't stand Santo, good thing he does radio, then you don't see him drool bucket.
  16. Somebody needs to either A) Inject some steroids into Lexi to beef him up, or B ) Force him to go out to eat with Uribe, and have Uribe teach him how to shutdown a buffet.
  17. From MLBTR: Hellllll yeahhhh. Uribe could be out of here....
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 04:18 PM) If this means Ramirez is going to get a lot of time at 2B, why is he in CF today? This is all very weird. Uribe is a very popular guy on the team. It could have some sort of effect on the team if they think he got screwed. Yea, thats what I pointd out a while ago. Makes no sense for Ramirez not to be at 2B unless A) A 2B is going to be traded for B) Ramirez could be traded for a team looking for a CF
  19. You know, DJ Carasco hasn't looked that bad. He gave up a couple runs, but he has looked better than Masset and some other arms this ST.
  20. Lexi on base every time so far. 2-2, and just drew a walk. Who says he isn't patient!
  21. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) How far did he hit it? Maybe 5 feet over the LF wall. Not all that far, but from the replay, it looked like a pop-up.
  22. I totally forgot about Ellis. I'm starting to think that is a MUCH more likely than getting Roberts. In fact, I would not even want Roberts if it means losing Fields/Danks/Poreda/Jenks or any of those good young players we actually have. Swish knows Ellis, probably threw in a good word.
  23. The scary part of Lexi's HR is that he got UNDER the ball. If he squared the baby up, oh man.
