  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 22, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) We did this last year or the year before, but, now we have new players. And I think some players changed theirs. Anyone know what Quentin, Swisher or Ramirez have as their intros now? Can anyone recall the existing ones? For the love of me I can't remember, but Swisher has a rap song. Quentin has some latino pop song. Not sure on Ramirez.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 22, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) for those of you who know much more about this than I do, the soonest we can expect to see him in Chicago? 2010. I imagine he starts in AAA next year, with some short september call up, then getting a look at an actual roster spot in 2010.
  3. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 22, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) Background: If the Sox win 10 games in a row, CTL's Dave Kaplan (and Nick Swisher) apparently will dye their hair pink. It started as an offhanded comment around the time of the pink bats and chia chins. But now it's snowballing and apparently they are making preparations to really do it and have a charity tie in. That said, when asked yesterday if he was rooting against the Sox for one of these next games, he pretty much yelled, "YES!" Which leads me to believe he's a Cub fan (if not another team).... and thus it will be pretty hilarious to (hopefully) watch him do one episode of CTL with pink hair. Did you ever consider the fact that he just dosen't want to dye his hair pink?
  4. Alexei has been improving, that's for sure. At least with him in the lineup, there is SOME speed. He also has a pretty good cannon at 2B. Not Uribe status, but he surely has a nice arm. His average is actually right in line with all the other slumpers.
  5. Cmon people SWISHER. He is already on the June calendar that the White Sox gave out, and he NEEDS a slumpbuster.
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 17, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) SS Orlando Cabrera 3B Pablo Ozuna LF Carlos Quentin RF Jermaine Dye 1B Paul Konerko CF Nick Swisher 2B Alexei Ramirez C Toby Hall P Buehrle I think thats what Rongey just said. Feel free to correct if I am wrong noooo. AJ is hot right now. Let him play while he is hot, and certainly against a crowd that will fire him up. After making those comments about the fans booing yesterday being "weak", he will really hear it tonight.
  7. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 17, 2008 -> 06:31 PM) I agree. Also agree. Just put Swish at 1B, and put Anderson in CF. Or even Alexei in CF because of his speed and have Ozuna at 2B, Swish at 1B. There is entirely too much space out there in CF for Swish to cover.
  8. Rookie question, but what does GO/AO mean? I figured GO was groundout, but what is AO, Airout? If so, why wouldn't it be GO/FO?
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 16, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) Broadway has a sub 2 ERA now. He threw 107 pitches 67 for strikes and walked 4 bringing his total to 16 in 54 innings with 29 k's. He's also featuring a GO/AO ratio of 1.83 Rookie question, but what does GO/AO mean? I figured GO was groundout, but what is AO, Airout? If so, why wouldn't it be GO/FO?
  10. He hasn't had a glove problem, it's an arm problem. It my knowledge, I would say 5 or 6 of those 8 errors have been on his throws.
  11. I stated before the season even started I wanted Thome in the 5th spot. Of course, I didn't have Q in that spot. I had Swish 3rd.
  12. QUOTE (scenario @ May 15, 2008 -> 11:16 AM) Someone buy that man a new glove... one without holes in it. I heard he dosen't quite understand baseball much, and he uses this glove...
  13. Damnit. If Kenny was at all looking to trade Crede, he might be holding off now. I still think we need to trade Crede somewhere. I cant imagine his value being any higher than it is now. The longer we wait, the closer to a FA he becomes and less interest.
  14. I would, but unfortunately im only 17 years old.
  15. Game 7 of the World Series. You are winning 1-0, bases loaded, 3-2 count. What pitch do you throw?
  16. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) June 23rd looks like it makes sense.. Sox just getting off a series with the Cubs, Orioles just getting into town for a series with the Cubs.. Both teams off.. though we'll have to travel to the west coast, so that would eliminate the travel day, which kind of sucks. Meh. Just play the game at noon, and fly out after the game.
  17. Wow, Dewayne Wise hitting .382 on the season.
  18. From glancing at the schedule, im seeing June 23rd as the date. Both teams are in town, and have the day on that day.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:20 PM) And he may be the shortest player in that league. For serious, I liked him in college ever, good hitter, gets on base. 5'9", damn.
  20. How many times in grade school were you called Ely John? What would you say are your best pitches you throw?
  21. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 11:44 AM) Floyd pitches tomorrow against the Yankees. But why were they switched?
  22. Any reason why Floyd is getting skipped or pushed back? Its his scheduled day to pitch. Maybe they dont want him to lose confidence vs. New York, so they skip him?
  23. What do we know about Ely John? At Winston-Salem, he has 19 IP, 16 H, 4 ER, 1.89 ERA, 1 BB, 15 K's, 0.89 WHIP. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=518655 Also he is 22 years old. Will he see him in AA Birmingham this season? And what's the report on this guy?
  24. Charlotte has had like what, 3 straight games PPD? And Winston Salem missed like their first 4 or something? Crazy.
