  1. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) MLB.tv I believe I saw that sign and thought, HEY, I saw that picture on soxtalk! Yeah, I know MLB.TV has it, but I dont have an account and won't be buying one. My friend has Comcast On Demand, so I guess I will have to find it on there.
  2. Do you know of any sites I can find all the old Sox games and rewatch them? I heard me and my "Q-uperman" sign was on TV, but I want to see it for myself.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 01:20 AM) JD. He's been part of the Dye-namic Duo, with Q-perman. Was going to pick Q-uperman, but decided on Jenks.
  4. I was chanting "MVP" whilst holding my "Q-uperman" sign that everyone at the ballpark tonight REALLY enjoyed. Last game I was on the bigscreen 3 times with it, and my cousin said i was on Baseball Tonight, tonight, with my sign.
  5. QUOTE (TheOcho @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 10:24 PM) the onion... Not an onion fan? I find it hilarious.
  6. http://www.theonion.com/content/news_brief..._ozzie_guillens CHICAGO—Still fuming after his team blew a late-inning lead in a loss to the Rays Sunday, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen filled out Tuesday night's lineup card with a series of expletives, insults, and personal attacks on his players. The lineup card, posted in the dugout at approximately 6 p.m., referred to the team as the "Chicago s*** Sox," and read in part, "1. Orlando f***ing Cabrera, 2. Goddamn Motherf***ing Neckless Bastard A.J. s***bag Pierzynski DUMB!!! f***!!!, 3. Jermaine f***ing Gonna Dye f***ing s*** 0-For-5 s***f*** f*** f***ing f***nuts Asshole Just Try Me Motherf***er." Guillen also announced that Nick s***licker [swisher] would be starting in centerfield and Jim Thome would be the "designated f***face." Upon noticing that "Cocksucking Assbag Motherf***ing s***f***ing Numbnuts f***hole" was penciled into the No. 4 spot, Paul Konerko expressed delight that he was batting cleanup.
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) He was average last year (compared to his entire career), and he had a phenominal year in 2006. You lose on the "trending for a couple years now." If anything, he's been trending that way for a year and a half. And you don't trade him midseason. Perhaps you attempt to in the offseason, but that's as far as I'd go. I would say that his career appears to be trending the way Eric Karros' went. And I also really wonder if PK wasn't on whatever the rest of the Cleveland Indians were on. Well, his 2006 2nd half was worse than his 1st half, then 2007 kept with that decline, then in the 1st half of 2008 he continued it again. So there are your 2 years if you want to get technical.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 02:38 AM) Good guys don't necessarily want to their home for half the season 1500 or so miles away from a place where they are comfortable. If I'm Paul Konerko, I would consider it a slap in the face more than anything. He's been off the disabled list of for all of 3 games. Give him a bit more time than that. Yeah, I gave him the first 3 months, and he has been trending badly for a couple years now.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) Yes. Heh, thanks, but I was actually being sarcastic because he said Because Konerko has 10/5 rights, he wont be traded. Once you ask Konerko to waive his no-trade-clause I think he might considering he is a good guy, and once you get asked that, then you realize they dont want you on the team, so.
  10. QUOTE (BobDylan @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 07:24 PM) So, putting Alexei in CF improves the team defense? Well I'll be damned. All this time I thought the defense was stronger because Swisher and Anderson were consistently being run out to 1B/CF... Nothing out there leads me to believe Alexei can play a better CF than Swisher, especially when I think back to the games he's already played out there. If the Sox want to try and unload Konerko, which won't happen given his 10/5 rights, they'd best look to find a center fielder. Why disrupt an already defensively superior infield and go moving around what looks to be a damn good prospect? One that most likely will shift over to SS next year? Now, if you told me Ellis would play 2B for the next few years for the Sox, I might say something different. But, he wouldn't. Yes, I think Alexei would be better in CF than Swisher, and yes I think Swisher would be better at 1B than Konerko. And I know Konerko have his 10/5 rights. Are players still allowed to waive a trade clause?
  11. Or how about we just trade for Mark Ellis, and then dump Konerko on someone? Our lineup wasnt missing much without him, and our defense really improved. Kong wont get us much back, and really, who cares. He isnt giving us much value right now, and he could be a nice salary dump. Trade for Ellis. Trade off Konerko. Alexei moves to CF, Swisher to 1B. Just improved your defense and payroll, and only a slight drop off in offense really since Konerko has sucked.
  12. Sooo its... AL: Hamilton Sizemore Vlad NL: Uggla Utley Berkman I expect that Carlos will get asked. But then again it might be like Manny Ramirez or something stupid like that. I really hope Ankiel gets in for the NL.
  13. QUOTE (Felix @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) He's racist in favor of the white players. Well it's probably because he is only seeing 3-4 pitchers per at-bat. But I think Alexei should be hitting 2nd because he is a good average hitter and hell, AJ doesnt see a lot of pitches either, so you aren't losing much there. O-C Lexi Q Dye Thome Swisher AJ Crede Wise Looks good to me.
  14. My god, I cant wait for next season after he has a full offseason of MLB conditioning. If he can gain 20-25 pounds of muscle, he will be great. I could see 25 HR, 80 RBI, .315 avg, 20 SB and a gold glove out of him within a season or two of MLB training and conditioning if he gains some more muscle.
  15. Did anyone see the one today with THome and O-Cab? It was a handshake thing and hand slapping. This is cool.
  16. QUOTE (BobDylan @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 03:30 AM) I didn't see the game; is that real? The shot is held so long that it looks fake. Probably should result in a suspension just for the sheer fact that it was seen coast to coast. it is played at like half speed.
  17. I remember Swish did it a while ago and I heard it was funny. He called Quentin "Quinteseco" or something like that because of his resemblence of Conseco. I watched the game on MLB.com, and the audio broke out while he was reading it the lineup. Very very unlucky.
  18. I wouldn't mind a Danks/Buehrle split. Here are their June numbers.... Danks: 2.12 ERA Buehrle: 2.10 ERA Sick.
  19. I would love for Thome to leave, and Dye to DH, with Swisher in LF, Q in RF, and getting a stud, speedy CF. Or we move Konerko to DH and Swisher to 1B, and again, get a stud CF. But I think moving Dye to DH would be defensively better because he is SOOO slow in RF and with Q and Swish in the corners, it would be MUCH better on defense. Or maybe we can get David Cook in CF and put in an offer for Brian Roberts at 2B.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) Once he develops some patience and plate discipline, I think he would be a premium leadoff man. He suprisingly only has 7 K's this month. That's pretty damn good. I guess it's hard to strikeout when you only see 2 pitches in an at-bat. lol. I just wished he walked more. With that .350 avg, his OBP is only .380. He needs to take more balls, but I guess if he is only seeing 15 pitches a game, but getting 2 hits, thats alright.
  21. In June, Alexei is hitting about .350 with 16 RBI. That's damn good production from your #8 hitter.
  22. My dad showed this to me and he thought it was real because there was no ad on the screen. He didnt notice the Gatorade bottle next to here chair, and there is no way she would make a huge catch like that with a ball that is not that far foul.
