5/10- Sox at Royals, 6:40
How many double plays are they gonna hit into tonight? Sheesh

Diekman to Rays...
Diekman is one guy I'm not concerned about turning around. He's just not good.

I don't expect them to have a team ERA near 6. That's disaster territory.

Most of these guys have a decent track record and you wouldn't expect them to fall apart so badly.

Also the bullpen falling apart continually like this is unreal. I’ve suspected Katz was bad at bullpen management for a while but this is beyond bad.

You expect better out of your ace going against one of the worst teams in baseball. Cease gave them basically no chance today and the bullpen sealed it.

Cease given 4 runs again. Once again it’s not enough.

Greinke is a good test to see if the good habits we noticed against Cincinnati are real or just AAAA players feasting on AAA-level pitchers.

Opening up my mind to giving the season a clean slate
They've found a little consistency in the bullpen with Santos and Middleton. They've gotten rid of a lot of the dead weight there. Hendriks is back at the end of the month hopefully. Losing Eloy while he was hot really hurts. Robert is picking up the slack, though. They definitely need to cut the black holes out of their lineup, but it's going to be hard given their injuries and lack of depth. Starting pitching has been bad. Gio has been their best starter, and the rest have been disappointing. Need more consistency here - starters can't really give up more than 3 runs given this team's love of scoring 3 runs or less per game. This is where I'm most concerned - Cease will be fine, though I don't think he'll be the CY runner up again. Gio should stay in the 3-4 ERA range, which is fine. Lynn and Clevinger might be washed - Lynn has lost too much velocity and Clevinger has no command. Kopech likely belongs in the bullpen unless he can bring the curve and changeup to a decent spot. The slider should be dropped. Overall, if they were in any other division I think they'd be buried. This division is absolute trash, though, so if the Sox can find a way to win most of the series they play I bet they'll be in contention all year.

First time I've switched a game off for a bit because the Sox scored double digit runs

Need to make sure this isn't the only inning they score in.

I'd rather see Alberto at second until he cools off.

Sucks when you have no one to rely on to even provide replacement level middle infield play

They’d be better off challenging the out call at first… which apparently they did. Tim either came back too early or needs to pull his head out of his ass.

I was hoping Clevinger would recover nicely from his injuries, but so far he looks just about done.
