Moncada has a herniated disc that's impinging on a nerve in his back. That's a bad injury. No clue when he'll be back.

I'm at the point where I can't even watch games. I'll check in if they get a couple base runners and that's about it. I mostly watch other teams to get my baseball fix. The last time this happened was the early stages of the rebuild, but at that point there was at least hope.

That team looks terrible. They have two good starters, a good closer, and a bunch of injuries and question marks on offense. I can see Cleveland winning the division with ~90 wins again, and I can also see a 2-way race between Cleveland and Minnesota at ~.500. Maybe 3 way if the Sox overachieve.

Yeah, that's what I mean with "BABIP gods". Swing at everything, make weak contact or hit grounders and hope for the best.

He might be right, and injuries aren't helping for sure. We're seeing a lot of the same baseball-stupid stuff we've seen since the second half of 2021, though, and I don't know if they can fix some of these guys. They don't walk, they don't have long at-bats, they're not selective, and they basically cross their fingers and hope the BABIP gods are on their side. That just doesn't work.

This is just a bad baseball team.
