  1. Bad, bad, bad game.
  2. Lopez fastball velocity down 4-5 mph
  3. It’s not even that this time. Sox are fouling off hittable fastballs for the first two strikes. I’m sure this guy has a good fastball but not THAT good.
  4. All this guy is doing is throwing fastballs to get ahead then put away with off speed, and they still can’t do anything about it.
  5. Most of the lineup can’t hit this guy’s fastball.
  6. Glad I finally got through to them
  7. Offense needs to get their s%*# together.
  8. Still swinging at garbage
  9. Doesn’t matter what Lynn does if the offense does this the rest of the game.
  10. I was excited to see Frazier make solid contact and show patience at the plate for a bit. Now he can't hit fastballs.
  11. And you would be wrong. There is a big difference between "its not up to the hitting coach to help him" and "it doesn't matter what the coach does if the player keeps swinging at every pitch". I think our coaching staff and overall instruction sucks, likely near or at the bottom of the league. That doesn't excuse the players from being accountable for bad habits and poor plate discipline. Like I said before, even the Rays would struggle to help a player who swings at everything.
  12. Still having trouble reading I see. Let me know where I said it’s “not the job of the hitting coach to help the struggling hitter”.
  13. LMAO that is not what I was saying at all. You need to work on your reading comprehension. Of course the hitting coach works with Jake. We could have the best hitting instruction in the league, but there’s only so many ways you can say “stop swinging at every damn pitch”.
  14. Mariners are just as bad as hitting as we are. Sox had no business winning this one. But they did!
  15. Caballero is up there looking for a walk
  16. Oh Elvis. That error is huge.
  17. Scholtens here is… a choice.
  18. Robert could’ve fallen asleep in the box and be in a 3-0 count
  19. I’m in love with Remillard
  20. This is impressive incompetence
  21. Yes it absolutely is true. Some flaws are difficult if not impossible to fix through coaching. It's on the player to have good at-bats, not swing at garbage, and not be completely unable to hit sliders.
  22. Frazier couldn't touch a bunch of hittable fastballs. Yeesh.
  23. There's no coaching that can help anyone if a player swings at almost every pitch. That is on them. He is having severe pitch recognition issues right now.
  24. His power is not a fluke. He’s a dangerous hitter. He can’t be dangerous if he swings at everything. Put your bias aside and look at what he’s doing objectively.
  25. I’m absolutely giving him a chance. He’s been making very poor swing decisions, even for this lineup, and he needs to stop doing that. His power is scary good and pitchers are going to work around him. If he gets himself out like this he’s got no chance. If he doesn’t get himself out then he’s a potent weapon.
