The 1980's called...they want their ballpark fad back. So lame. So, so lame.

I'd really like the Sox to win 4 games in the next...oh...52 hours.

I believe the rule is 20 games in a row. Anything over that needs approval.

Teahen grounds out to first, facing Nick Blackburn.

Charlotte- Hynick http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...rocaaa_chraaa_1 Birmingham- Edwards http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...biraax_jaxaax_1 Winston-Salem- Jones http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...wilafa_wswafa_1 Kannapolis- Bayne http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...gboafx_kanafx_1 Bristol- Casey http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...brlrok_brirok_1 Great Falls- Delk http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...grfrok_misrok_1

Have they said how long Teahen is going to be down there? He hasn't played in the field yet. Tonight will be his third game at DH. It may be a good idea to get him some field time too....not that it will help much.

Harrell was sent down the night he pitched. Jackson is on the 25-man roster, as he was required to be added on Saturday. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 12:20 PM) Is Edwin Jackson on the 25 man roster? If not, Torres replaces Harrell and then Jackson replaces Torres.

Floyd has made 22 starts. 1st 11 starts: 6.64 ERA, 61 innings, 78 hits, 45 ER, 23 BB, 49 K, 7 HR 2nd 11 starts: 1.06 ERA, 76.1 innings, 54 hits, 9 ER, 17 BB, 63 K, 0 HR That's right. Floyd has not given up a homer in 11 starts. 77 innings. That's impressive.

Looks like Holmberg's first game with Missoula will be against his former teammates.

I love how Jackson's schedule is set up. He'll have a chance to succeed against some bad teams. 8-4 at Det 8-9 at Bal 8-14 vs Det 8-20 at KC 8-26 vs Bal 8-31 at Cle 9-6 at Det 9-11 vs KC 9-17 vs Det 9-22 at Oak TBD vs Bos TBD vs Cle Detroit four times. Baltimore, Cleveland, and KC twice each. Oakland and Boston once. They're stacking Danks, Floyd, and Buehrle vs Minnesota--which they should.

What's going on with Pangilinan? He's been out a while.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) I would rather have Buehrle or Jackson pitch on 4 days rest vs. Baltimore, than then Torres pitch vs. Detroit. I would do.... Tuesday - Buehrle & Jackson (6 days rest) Wednesday - Garcia (6 days rest) Thursday - Danks (5 days rest) Friday - Floyd (5 days rest) Saturday - Buehrle or Jackson (4 days rest) Sunday - Buehrle or Jackson (5 days rest) Have then both pitch on Tuesday, and whoever has the shorter outing of the two would pitch Saturday vs. Orioles, and the other would pitch on Sunday. I just think a Buehrle or a Jackson on 4 days rest would pitch better vs. the Orioles than Carlos Torres would against the Tigers. Plus, it would save having to send someone down for Torres to come up. It's already been decided. Freddy is going to get extra rest, and start Thursday. Buehrle and Torres will go Tuesday, Jackson on Wed. Starting Friday, the rotation for the rest of the season should be Danks, Floyd, Buehrle, Jackson, Garcia.

If Sale gets called up, it'll be for Threets. Unless, they want Sale up while Threets is still there, I don't see why they would want 8 in the pen.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 07:00 PM) I think both will, one goes for Torres, one goes for Teahen. You can't call a guy back up for 10 days after he's sent down, so unless there's someone else in AAA we'd callup, Torres will hang around for about 10 days after his start. No, Torres wil be gone after his start. They don't need 13 pitchers. Teahen will be back on Wednesday, I would think.

QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 06:52 PM) Who goes down for Torres? Torres up. Viciedo down. Torres down. Teahen activated.

QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Why is this, wouldn't it be the normal day for Freddy and Buehrle on Tuesday anyway, and who would we designate or put on the DL? Freddy is being pushed back to Thursday to get some extra rest. Buehrle and Torres are pitching Tuesday. Jackson on Wed. Freddy on Thursday. Then the rotation the rest of the season should be set...Danks, Floyd, Buehrle, Jackson, Garcia. Not sure what's going on with Sale, but Threets has done a good job. That would be a tough send down for him.

My wish is for the Tigers to be 11 games out on Thursday at about 4pm. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) My wish will be for a waiver wire bat...

I like Kotsay's defense at 1B, and just common sense says they like Kotsay a lot. Whether we like it or not, Kotsay isn't going anywhere when Teahen comes back.

I think it's a lot more likely Lillibridge will be sent to AAA when Teahen comes back. Kotsay won't get dumped.

Give me a break. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) Thats very comforting to hear... when we need a major upgrade at DH and with the trade deadline winding down, our GM is working on practical jokes.

Kenny just said Berkman had nothing personal against the Sox, but he wanted to play with his buddy. I guess Pettitte.

Throw in a "due dilligence" in there. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) We are minutes away from the : "I believe in the talent. We were only going to do something that made sense. There were some interesting offers out there, but ultimately we felt they did not make the White Sox better" speech.

There's a game today?

3:05 central. /KW

If it's Luke Scott, that's fine. I think I'd rather have him than LaRoche.
