  1. I like Kotsay's defense at 1B, and just common sense says they like Kotsay a lot. Whether we like it or not, Kotsay isn't going anywhere when Teahen comes back.
  2. I think it's a lot more likely Lillibridge will be sent to AAA when Teahen comes back. Kotsay won't get dumped.
  3. Give me a break. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) Thats very comforting to hear... when we need a major upgrade at DH and with the trade deadline winding down, our GM is working on practical jokes.
  4. Kenny just said Berkman had nothing personal against the Sox, but he wanted to play with his buddy. I guess Pettitte.
  5. Throw in a "due dilligence" in there. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) We are minutes away from the : "I believe in the talent. We were only going to do something that made sense. There were some interesting offers out there, but ultimately we felt they did not make the White Sox better" speech.
  6. 3:05 central. /KW
  7. If it's Luke Scott, that's fine. I think I'd rather have him than LaRoche.
  8. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 06:42 PM) No, he rejected a trade here Ok, I guess I didn't read that right. If there are Astros that hold grudges, I blame the fan that treated Biggio's wife like crap.
  9. I don't get why Berkman is a douche. He waived his no-trade to come here. They didn't make a deal. Big whoop.
  10. With Jackson starting next Wednesday, he'll fall where Hudson was. Meaning the schedule is set up for Jackson to get 11 starts...8 vs AL Central teams, including 4 vs Detroit. 8-4 at Det 8-10 vs Min 8-15 vs Det 8-21 at KC 8-27 vs NY 9-1 at Cle 9-7 at Det 9-12 vs KC 9-18 vs Det 9-25 at LAA 9-30 vs Bos
  11. This is how you spell Harrell.
  12. That's kind of how I feel too. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:41 AM) I'm gonna hold on till the deadline tomorrow before making any comments.
  13. Don Cooper is going to have a heart attack while watching this guy walk 6 batters a game.
  14. The more I think about this, I'm calling bulls*** that he's staying with the Sox. They want Dunn, and this is part of it. An NL pitcher with a 5.16 ERA who can't throw strikes? This is not a Kenny move for a pennant race.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 08:35 AM) Harrell's supposed to go tonight for Charlotte, I imagine if a deal were close he'd be on his way to Chicago. Kinda sucks having to start Lucas Harrell in the middle of a pennant race. Stuff happens. A spot start here and there is going to happen. They're going to need a spot starter on August 7th too, unless Buehrle or Garcia pitch on short rest.
  16. When I said "allowed" I meant having him on the 25-man for a day without Edwin Jackson. Obviously they could call him up and send anyone down.
  17. If this trade happens today, I hope they're allowed to call up Lucas Harrell for a start rather than having Tony Pena go 4 innings and then have the rest of the bullpen do the rest.
  18. The 3-team trade rumor said it would be young pitching going back to Arizona, so maybe this is all part of a Dunn deal. At least I'm hoping so.
  19. I say teach your children that Sox fans don't do the wave.
  20. Wow, just saw the Wallace thing. That's pretty incredible. Drafted in the top 15 in 2008, and he's been traded three times.
  21. Here's what probably happened. Bernstein read on MLB Trade Rumors that the Sox are "all over the place". He then called or texted (sexted!) somebody he knows at the Sox and confirmed it, and then he passed this off as if he was breaking some news on his own.
  22. I'm not going to pretend that there are no bad guys on the White Sox, but I just wouldn't be able to get past Brett Myers being on this team. I mean, he beat the s*** out of his wife in public.
  23. 52 hours. Can't wait until it's over.
  24. I'm a proponent of a 156-game schedule, but starting the season on a Friday is a step in the right direction. Whatever it takes to get the World Series done in October.
