Tigers and Blue Jays 2-2, bottom 8th. Verlander threw 120 pitches, so I think he's done.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Damn it, the Twins play the Orioles? Come on... So? Sox play the Orioles 7 games next month. We'll get our shot. Tigers tied it up. 2-2, top of 6th.

Yeah, his interviews used to be a lot better, and then he got a big head. He's very defensive. I'll give him credit. The plane landed at 3am Chicago time, and he was on before 7, so he wasn't exactly thinking with a clear head this morning. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 11:10 AM) I've heard quite a few Cooper interviews, and he's the most defensive person in the organization. The interviews are almost always the same.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
So Jayson Nix comes up with the bases loaded, one out right after Liriano walked a batter, and Nix swings at the first pitch (which is rare for him), and grounds into a DP.

Staying Pat
I really don't care about Flowers at all, and if Viciedo gets us Dunn and if it puts the Sox over the top, I'm all for it. Overpaying to me, is trading Beckham and Hudson, or a bunch of prospects.
-
Staying Pat
I think a lot of what is going on right now is just posturing. The big demand from Rizzo on Dunn could come down in the final days. Kenny will do something, and I don't think he'll do anything that would be considered overpaying.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
If Sunday was one of the worst losses, tonight was one of the biggest wins. Especially with the Tigers and Twins losing.

Felix Hernandez will face Floyd on Wednesday and Danks next Monday. He is 4-1, 1.66 ERA in his last seven starts, but the Mariners are 4-3 in those starts. And in his 20 starts this season, the Mariners are 9-11. Sox need to find a way to win at least one of these games. I just want the Sox to get through the next two weeks at 8-5, and move on.

THE CLUB - 2010

Phil Cuzzi cost the Giants a win today on a blown call at the plate in the bottom of the 9th. That guy sucks. ..and another reason why they need to expand replay.

QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) but we lost one to minnesota who i still believe is the strongest competition and will win the division as the teams stand right now If the Sox win Sunday, no harm/no foul. It's not going to be easy. I'm just glad we have meaningful games for the rest of the season.

1.5 game lead. Can't complain, especially if we leave Minnesota with a split.
-
Cliff Lee Traded to Rangers
Rangers are 0-2 when Lee starts. Smoak is 5-7, 2 homers in his last two games. Hudson better be careful on Monday.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
I think the Twins and Tigers are both in the same position...if they don't get a starting pitcher, I don't like their chances. That's why having Dan Hudson is so important to the Sox. I think he's going to be more than adequate, while the other four do their thing.
