  1. I'll take the wins, but the baseball fan part of me doesn't like it. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) You should love it. We've played .570 ball against the NL all these years. Only .511against the AL.
  2. I think they should just stay hot for another month. That's my vote. Go 25-10 the next 35, and go into Detroit on Aug 3 with 60 wins.
  3. If they want to be sell outs, then they should just play the regional rivalries. AL plays 12 games against the 13 other teams --156, plus 6 vs Cubs= 162 Same with: Yankees-Mets Rays-Marlins Orioles-Nationals Indians-Reds Royals-Cardinals Twins-Brewers Angels-Dodgers A's-Giants Rangers-Astros The rest mix and match for the 6 games.
  4. Hate it. Always have hated it. I don't buy that it helps attendance, because for every Sox-Cubs game, there are extra Sox-Royals and Sox-Indians game that has nobody there. I'd like a balanced schedule where the Sox play everyone in the league 12 games.
  5. NL cleaning up the last couple nights. 3-0 last night; 8-2 so far tonight. Sox were one of the two--yes!
  6. Chris Sale is at the game tonight. Hopefully they get him up in the booth.
  7. Great Falls- http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...ox&did=milb
  8. Double and grand slam for Flowers. Torres with a great start.
  9. They've earned the right to get back in it. It's all about their place after the 4-gamer in Minnesota. In my view, if the Sox are 4.5 out or better at that time, they're in. If they're in 3rd place and 5 back of both the Twins and Tigers, they're sellers.
  10. I think Olney is just saying that Lee could be traded in the next couple weeks, and the Twins are the front-runners. It's not for sure. So would you trade Floyd and Hudson for Lee and prospect?
  11. The Sox second half schedule is brutal. The Twins are done with Boston and New York. The Tigers are done on the west coast. It's going to be tough, no question. The Sox only hope is to dominate both teams head to head. Tigers 9-5 Twins 9-4 That's the minimum. and then hope.
  12. Interleague tally... AL 92 NL 76 10-2-- Chi, Bos 9-3-- Det, Tex 7-5-- Min, NY, LAA 6-6-- Sea 5-7-- KC, TB, Tor, Oak 4-8-- Cle 3-9-- Bal
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) looking like Hanson, Hudson, Lowe vs. Danks, Buehrle, Floyd. I think Thursday should be ours, if we can beat Hanson or Hudson, I like our chances to win the series. Their offense has been hitting better recently, but it still doesn't scare me all that much. I'm surprised Floyd isn't starting Wednesday. Split up the lefties.
  14. In. It's fun to actually want to watch the games again. We'll see what they can do the next 4 weeks. 23 games from now, I want the Sox sniffing 1st place.
  15. That would be crazy if he was on the Sox in a pennant race in September. Crazy in a good way.
  16. Scott Baker, Dana Eveland, Doug Fister, Andy Pettitte, Brian Bannister, Kevin Slowey, Rick Porcello, Josh Johnson, David Price, Colby Lewis, Rick Porcello, Brad Lincoln, John Lannan. Sox lost when he faced Baker, Eveland, Pettitte, and Johnson. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) Maybe Garcia is just facing a lot of the other team's 4th-5th starters.
  17. Best 5th starter in baseball? Team record by starter: Garcia 9-4 Danks 7-6 Buehrle 7-7 Peavy 7-7 Floyd 4-10 34-34. Who would have thunk it 12 days ago when the Sox were 24-33? Awesome.
  18. Threets with a scoreless 9th. Hudson gets his 9th win.
  19. Danks seems to be getting it going lately. Double today.
  20. Charlotte http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...chraaa_rocaaa_1 Birmingham-Hynick http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/gameday...jaxaax_biraax_1 Winston-Salem-Doyle http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...wswafa_wilafa_1 Kannapolis-Hopps http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_lwdafx_1
  21. Maybe the Tigers have someone they think can pitch every 5th game better than Porcello. I don't think the Sox are in that position with 2B, and Beckham. Let's face it, if CJ Retherford went to AAA this year and hit .300, he would have been up. But he sucked and now is back in AA. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 12:07 PM) Porcello down to AAA. If the Tigers can make that move, we can send Beckham down as well.
  22. I thought it was Hudson's turn today? He started last Sunday.
  23. 10 out 11 games with a quality start. The other one was a Freddy win. This is how you get on a roll.
  24. Manute Bol gone at 47. RIP.
