I think Hudson will be up after the break no matter what. Either to replace Garcia if he gets traded, or to be in bullpen if the Sox magically get back in the race. Plus they'll need a spot starter in early August with the doubleheader in Detroit on August 3rd. They may be able to push back the spot start to Aug 7 vs Baltimore.

I think Sweeney is a case of "He was never going to succeed in Chicago". I remember him saying he wish he a starting pitcher so he didn't have to play everyday. That sort of thing. Trading him was the right thing. I don't look at him and wish he was still on the team.

Hope it stays that way, and the Sox finish off the sweep. If that happens, it will give the fans a little something to get excited about. We need that. June 13 is too early to write off a team within 10 games. And if it's 6.5, it will give the players a little something to get excited about, too.

I'm not getting fooled by this first 4-game winning streak either. But, it's also too early to wave the flag. They have to wait to see what happens for the next few weeks, at least. Sox: at Pit, at Was, vs Atl, vs Cubs, at KC, at Tex, vs LAA, vs KC Twins: vs Col, at Phi, at Mil, at NYM, vs Det, vs TB, at Tor, at Det And then they play head to head four games after the break. It's a schedule that could possibly lean toward the Sox favor. So you just have to let it play out for at least 2-3 more weeks.

July 31 is 7 weeks from today. Plenty of time. No rush to make moves.

Behind the Rangers, the Sox have the 2nd easiest interleague schedule for AL teams. I'm not getting too excited, but if they can cut it to 6 by the end of interleague play, and then hang in there the final 10 games before the break, I'd give the Sox a chance at getting back into it. No need to make trades until then.
