Where The Corn Is As High As Greg Walker's Eye...
I'm only listening, so I didn't see it, but it sounds like a lot of hard hit balls. I'm really concerned about Danks. So many games he's up to 90 pitches by the 5th inning.

Ozzie, Jr. has been doing some radio shows with Rongey. Ozney is in high school.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 04:50 PM) Wasn't Mike Piazza drafted in like the 61st round because he was Tommy Lasorda's godson? Oney needs to get on the roids too.

QUOTE(scenario @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) BTW - Both the Trib and whitesox.com are listing the start time as 2:05pm central (3:05 eastern) Correct. The last game in Arizona is always an hour earlier. presumably to give teams an extra hour for wherever they travel for the last few spring games. Sox fly to Oklahoma City tomorrow morning.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) Other than Uribe v Ozuna, and the exact oder they are in... I think that's the Opening Day lineup. Against CC, I hope Thome is dropped in the order. Or better yet, not in the lineup at all.

ARI @ CWS, 3/27, 2:05pm CT

Mark Ellis
QUOTE(GreenSox @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) Ellis can't hit. The Sox don't need yet another bad offensive player.

Slumming it at the Urinal in the Desert
The boxscore has Bourgeois under Guillen's name, so Hughes may have had it wrong. Game ended 8-8. Whoopti whoop.

Slumming it at the Urinal in the Desert
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 05:50 PM) Oney Guillen into pinch run for Crede. Too bad we couldn't have Carrie Schuler on the roster as well, she hits about as good as Oney does. Oney is playing 3rd base. This is on par with Billy Crystal's at bat. edit: Pat Hughes got it wrong. Pablo "Osuna" is at 3rd. Oney at 2nd. Some scrub pitcher is about to blow a three run lead in the 10th.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) Dont let him tease you, he'll be swinging from his heels in a week. So? He is who he is. He's some pretty good insurance at 2B and SS.

Uribe --homer with 2 out in the 9th. 5-4 Sox going to the bottom. Keep Uribe.

Why the love obsession with Toby Hall?
QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 05:19 PM) Can Hall be DLed? He could.

Why the love obsession with Toby Hall?
Backup catcher isn't a popular topic, but I think Toby Hall is a release candidate. Phillips seems to have a good arm, and some ML experience. Too bad Ozzie put Hall at 1B last spring, but if he can't throw, he's worthless.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) So much for Javy's solid outing. It's spring training, so I'm not going to freak out. But when Javy coasts through 5, and then gets torched in the 6th, it pisses me off.

4-0 Sox. Roughing up Lilly.

Brian Anderson
I think Anderson gets in a comfort zone when he plays in the state of Arizona, where he is from. When he gets in the big stadiums, in cold weather, I expect him to fail again. I'm rooting for the guy, but he's going to have to do it in April for me to believe he's turned a corner.

2nd Base job
QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) Mark Ellis thing? Elaborate please. Just rumor, but it's popped up a couple times in the last month. No idea if it's true, but he'd be a nice pickup.

Richar Injured
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Probably also means welcome back Torpedo Boat as well. No way we let him go now with Richar being out that long. I still think Uribe is gone. They'll go with Ramirez/Ozuna/Bourgeois. Or maybe the Mark Ellis thing gets done. That would be my preference.

Richar Injured
Per the Score, Richar out 4-6 weeks. Good luck, Alexei.
