  1. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 01:10 PM) There aren't 4k people at this game. No wonder there were 300 level tickets for $9/ticket at noon. The Rays series should be in front of a few family members.
  2. Nice control numbers for John Parke last year. Can never have too many lefties.
  3. Didn’t realize how few pro innings Cease has. Hope he can make 26 starts this year.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 11:25 AM) Try not to get swept by a 64 win team, k? It would be pretty lame if the Sox don't go to Minnesota 6-5.

  6. Also 40 degrees in Chattanooga. Probably a good night to pitch.
  7. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 05:31 PM) Is this about emails? Tipping my cap.
  8. I wonder if Minaya is the first big leaguer this season to be sent down just for being bad. He was awful. Goes to show, spring training competition is almost a thing of the past. They’ll stick with you if you end the prior season strong.
  9. 2 down, 17 to go with the Tigers. If we’re better than them, might I suggest a Win tomorrow?
  10. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 03:38 PM) O/U Cordell being up in 2 weeks? Not happening barring injury. 5 weeks at least- probably more, especially for position players.
  11. Both teams are playing in the cold, but it’s hard to evaluate anything from Giolito’s start. f*** this weather.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 11:03 AM) Pretty hard to compare an advanced collegiate hitter in Benintendi to a raw Cuban in Moncada. If you factor in pro-rated WAR, Moncada was arguably more effective despite struggling mightily out of the gate. A strong middle infielder will always be worth more to a team than an average left fielder, too. I’m just saying it’s not wrong to expect Moncada to have a good season this year. Yes, if you’re mad about six games, you’re a moron. But they didn’t get a number 1 prospect for Sale to just be average in the long run. He needs to be one of the better players in the Sox lineup, hopefully batting 1st or 2nd.
  13. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 10:36 AM) Andrew Benintendi, the "more polished" player the Red Sox refused to trade, is batting .174 with no extra base hits. Please, I beg of you, forget this thread exists...cast it into a deep pit and move on with your lives. Benintendi played 151 games last year and had a .776 OPS at the same age Moncada is now. That’s the kind of season we’re looking for from Moncada, and I don’t think it’s a lot to expect from a former #1 overall prospect. He can do it, and I expect he will.
  14. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 07:47 AM) You're fooling yourself if each and everyone one of us isn't at least a little concerned over Moncada.. I agree, but I’m waiting until he’s played 162 games in a Sox uniform. Let’s take a look at those numbers in August, when he’s 23 and played a full year. Hopefully it’s an OPS+ over 100, and trending up. I’m expecting he’ll be fine.
  15. Miguel Cabrera playing https://twitter.com/tigers/status/982631917488164864
  16. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20180407 Cease is supposed to pitch today, but that may get rained out. Charlotte's game already banged.
  17. Not sure why they’re playing earlier Monday since there’s a better chance of snow in the morning and early afternoon, and the night temps aren’t much different.
  18. https://mobile.twitter.com/whitesox/status/...5001984/photo/1 Monday’s game changed to a day game. It would appear they’re playing Saturday and Sunday in the 30s. Against a division opponent, it’s not what I would do, but whatever.
  19. Dodgers-Giants rained out in sunny California.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 10:57 AM) Spieth, just when you think he’s going to run away and hide...falls apart again. That Masters collapse really must have scarred his psyche. When he loses it, he really loses it. This is shaping up to be a good one. Rain tomorrow.
  21. The thing about Moncada is he’s a former #1 prospect, the tools are off the charts, and he was one the centerpiece players in the Sale deal. Add to it there are a lot young players that come up and are just good- Correa, Lindor, Seager, Bryant, etc. At some point, it’s gotta be the Sox turn to have one of these great young players that are just great at baseball. That all said, it’s six games, they got home at 2am last night, and it was probably the coldest weather he’s ever played in. He just needs to play, keep a positive attitude, and good things are going to happen.
