Danny Hayes was released from Charlotte. Makes sense given his age and the logjam of bats that need playing time there.
Twins gotta pick him up, right?
I’m rooting for Gabe Kapler to fail in Philadelphia, and so far he’s pulled Nola after 68 pitches in a shutout and called to the bullpen with nobody warming up.
Nice game.
Giolito settled down-probably amped up and not used to pitching in the 40s.
Welington(one l) came through.
Moncada is a stud.
Renteria is proving Ventura’s years here were a complete waste.

I don’t understand playing weekend night games for north teams in April.
Agreed, I mean it's still March for crying out loud. It's stupid not to maximize the warmest part of the day, and it rains a lot this time of year....give yourself more time to get the game in.
Reality check for the day...
When two kinda crappy teams play each other, one of them has to win.
Last year, the Sox went 13-25 vs the Indians and Twins and 10-24 against other playoff teams... 23-49 in those 72 games, and 44-46 in the other 90.
This year, they have 64 games against last year’s postseason teams. Let’s see if there is an improvement.
A couple more games tonight, but out of the 22 starting pitchers today, James Shields and Chase Anderson threw the most pitches with 97.
Four starting pitchers (so far) got Wins- Shields, Syndergaard, Severino, and Verlander

Jeanmar Gomez deserved Minaya's spot. Or Farquhar's really
Could have been. They went chalk based on last year’s ending performance. Actually I was thinking Infante really could have been sent down. Bottom line, we’ll see them all at some point. There are 10-15 pitchers not on the team now that will be at some point.
