Pierzynski to Atlanta -
Lockhart from Homeland on the Festivus episode of Seinfeld.

I remember running on fumes for about 5 weeks--from the Crede walkoff against the Indians to the last out of the World Series. I think my favorite moment was the last out of the ALCS- the moment you realize that our generally lowly White Sox were actually going to play in the World Series.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 02:22 AM) Did anyone finish The Affair? It was ok. Kept my interest. I can't imagine it going past two seasons with these characters.

Outrighted to Royals AAA team.

I'm all for optimism when it comes to prospects, but can we cool it a little? Sale, Samardzija, Quintana, Danks, and Noesi....that's a rotation good enough to win 90 games if they make their starts and the rest of the team is healthy. Rodon is 22 and could use a couple months in the minors. At the very least, play the first 54 games without him and then evaluate.

I hate the idea of Rodon in the pen at all in any level. He's a starter. Ease him into the season in Birmingham or Charlotte. Maybe 3-4 innings per start in April, then 5-6 innings in May. By June 1, he's made 10-11 minor league starts at about 50 innings. Then see where he's at, and he'll have plenty in the tank for the rest of the season if the Sox need him.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 22, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) I really would like to see Raines get it, but it isn't looking good. Raines should be in. He was definitely under appreciated from Age 28-35. 81-87, he was a superstar, but missed key time because of a strike and collusion in 1987. 88-95, he probably wasn't a star player, but his OBP was still .375. Career .385 OBP, all time SB percentage leader...yeah, I don't get it. Probably a combination of the cocaine thing, not being a star in his post-Expos years, undervaluing walks, and being a bench player for a 6-7 years have kept him out. There's a lot of bad perception here. -

http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/newsst...ollecting_gizmo 47 votes in. Pedro, Unit, and Smoltz are locks, and it's looking good for Biggio and Piazza. -

There's a winning posting fee out there. Padres and Mets are not in the picture.

Sox acquire Jeff Samardzija and Michael Ynoa

QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 04:57 PM) 7 years. No, thanks. Yeah it would be a huge gamble, but to prevent him from reaching free agency, they may have to give him the years to lower the AAV. At the very least, 5 with an option that kicks in with innings or something else. -

If they wanted to sign him before opening day, 7/140 seems about right. If he was looking at 6 year deal after 2015, then 10 this year, and about 21-22 the other 6. Something like that? -

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:44 AM) I do think that, if the Rays could get some of the money taken care of, Tampa and San Diego seem like a logical match for Quentin. Of course, Viciedo may be a match too, right? Right? Nope, nope...you heard the man...Quentin can't be traded to Tampa Bay. But yes, Viciedo makes sense....probably more sense than Q actually. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:40 AM) Yeah, let's just ignore the reality of what they are doing for your fantasy. That makes a lot of sense. K. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:37 AM) It is the completely opposite of what they are doing now. Oh ok, I missed their organizational meetings. How were they? -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:13 AM) Except the Rays are in the middle of a sell off. So. Maybe the Padres throw some cash the Rays way and make them their DH. -

The Padres OF surplus is a something. Carlos Quentin in Tampa Bay makes too much sense. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) With Ravelo gone there's a spot open. If they need a 1B NRI, Dan Black is more likely than this guy.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo 3m3 minutes ago Source confirms #Athletics have traded Derek Norris to the #Padres. First reported by @FeinsandNYDN. Oakland is trading everybody. Wow. Helps Phegley, for now. -
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 07:54 PM) Kiley McDaniel @kileymcd 13m13 minutes ago Source: White Sox sign former Dodgers 1B Chris Jacobs to a minor league deal. 25 homers in the Cal League last year. He's played 29 games above A ball. Probably won't be invited to major league camp. Just a minor league transaction.

Hoyt complete game from May, 1983. The sound gets better after a few minutes. Quick game. Kittle homers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV4fzRwPIdk

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) Tim Anderson? Maybe? Yeah, I could see that. Hawkins too. But I could also see them inviting Josh Richmond and Jared Mitchell if they're still around.
