  1. Jesse Crain has been invited to camp. Give him 26 back and give Avi 34.
  2. No announcements yet, but probably among the invitees: Pitchers: Jesse Crain- R Carlos Rodon- L Chris Beck- R Joe Savery- L Zach Phillips- L Brad Penny- R Logan Kensing- R Maybe Nolan Sanburn? Catchers: George Kottaras Geovany Soto Infield: Micah Johnson Juan Diaz Andy LaRoche Outfield: Tony Campana Michael Taylor Anderson and Hawkins probably will get a couple weeks in big league camp too. Danish has been rumored to have an invite.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 01:15 PM) Opening Day is always a day game (unless you are the first MLB game of the season on Sunday night). Except 2000. Warm night. Fun game. Durham, one of the best plays I've seen.
  4. Game times are on the schedule now. The season and home openers are both 3:10 starts.
  5. It's January. I don't want to worry about stuff yet. 97 wins.
  6. 2/27 http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/107...ale-february-27
  7. Full schedule http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/commun...07866-770536933 I'd be interested to know if other teams bring in minor leaguers for their fan fests.
  8. He probably has moments where he thinks he's underpaid, or wishes he didn't sign when he did. But he's set for life already and the payday will be coming in 2020 going into his Age 31 season. Hopefully over the next five years he stacks 33 starts and 220 innings per year, and the Sox win a championship or three.
  9. I still think there's a chance he'll sign a long term contract in March. Hopefully his first month with the staff goes well, and he feels like this is where he wants to be in his prime seasons...and the money is right.
  10. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/556155677182550016 Avoided arb too
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 12:16 PM) Final game of 1990. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ifxt8Km2VI...dw3h1vRpsznVUMA At the end, Sportscenter interviews Cecil Fielder after his 51st homer, with 6 yr old Prince with him. Watching a couple innings of this game tonight. They said Fernandez had between junior college, minors, and majors-- 250 innings entering this game. Then he went 8 and threw 130 pitches in a game that meant nothing to the Sox. Times have changed.
  12. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) If I recall something like mid season. Yes. He was on with Rongey a week or two ago. He's been rehabbing in Cincinnati and said around the All Star Break.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) That leaves Flowers, right? And Samardzija. Both are scheduled for Soxfest, and usually those guys hold out with a pending arb case. So I would suspect both will settle before then.

  15. Today is a week. Wonder if it's outright day to Charlotte.
  16. May 23... PK number retirement
  17. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 03:36 PM) Steverson'll fix 'em. Missed opportunity to use Trick'll.

    2015 TV Thread

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) I don't think so, unless everyone else just noticed it too because it was all over twitter last night. They had something similar last season, but they may have added a few "partners" last night. From last October http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/...ion-last-night/
  20. Not a Sunday Night baseball fan even when the Sox are on, so I'm glad they're avoiding an early season appearance. Can this schedule be more ESPNy? April 5- Mad Men premiere. ESPN's Sunday night schedule (All times 8 ET): April 5: St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs April 12:Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees April 19: Cincinnati Reds at St. Louis Cardinals April 26: New York Mets at New York Yankees May 3: New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox ESPN Opening Day coverage, April 6 (All times ET): 1: Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees 4 : New York Mets at Washington Nationals 7: Cleveland Indians at Houston Astros 10: San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks
  21. His durability is to be admired, and the Sox definitely won't let him be forgotten. He's not a Hall of Famer. The future of being a HOF pitcher is get to the majors at 23, get babied for 2-3 years, be dominant for 7-10 years, and retired by 38. I hope Buehrle keeps going on the 30GS/10+ wins/200 innings as long as he can, but it wouldn't surprise me if this is his last season.
  22. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) If I were him, I'd keep in shape for a stretch run signing. What are his options if someone comes a calling? I'd bet anything he doesn't watch a baseball game this year unless he has a kid old enough. He's finished.
