  1. Royals lost KC 86-72 (4 at Sox) Oak 86-72 (4 at Tex) Sea 83-75 (1 at Tor, 3 vs LAA) Cle 83-76 (off, 3 vs TB) Tigers AL Central Magic Number is 3. They play four in Minnesota. Royals should probably celebrate when they clinch the WC, but they'll be playing hard to host the A's. Royals hold the tie-breaker over the A's.
  2. A's lost. Mariners lost. Tigers clinched at least a wildcard. 5-4 Indians over Royals, top 6
  3. Buehrle wins. His first win next season will be his 200th.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 07:43 PM) super excited for the Ryder cup - one of the best events in all of sports I'll watch, but I can't say I'm expecting much from the US team this time. Hopefully it's close going into singles on Sunday morning.
  5. Buehrle- 8 innings, 10 Ks. Shutout still possible. Came out for the 9th after the Jays scored in the 8th...1-0 Jays. Buehrle gave up a single, and is coming out.
  6. Buehrle- 6 shutout innings on the Mariners so far. 14 years, 30+ starts, 200+ innings, 10+ wins
  7. First Sox Tigers game next year is April 17 in Detroit.
  8. Comments are coming... https://twitter.com/freeptigers/status/514872971333091328
  9. 33-48 on the road this year. 9-10 vs the Indians, Twins, and Tigers
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 02:20 PM) Carlos Quentin rushed Greinke pretty quick last year Good call. It's so rare now.
  11. Guerra in. Sale finishes at 2.17 in 174 innings. 208 K's. Taking away his rain-shortened 3 inning start, He was just a tick under 7 innings per start in his other 25. Hopefully next year is 33 starts x 7.33, and he wins 25 for a good team.
  12. When is the last time a player got hit and immediately ran to the pitcher to fight? Never happens anymore.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 12:45 PM) Two "easy as pie" innings now for Sale. ERA down to 2.17. If he could end the game in the 2.00-2.09 range, that would give him a bit of a stronger case for the Cy, although probably the only way he was going to win was ending up below 2.00 because of the 7-8 missing starts compared to the other contenders. Scherzer and Lester will get consideration as well. Felix-Kluber, Kluber-Felix. Every Cy ballot should start with these two.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 10:06 AM) Sox win 6-3, you heard it here first I think the Sox will win too. Spoiling the Tigers is all good. Rooting for the last 5 games to go this way: Win, Loss, Loss, Win, Loss
  15. Sale-Verlander https://twitter.com/ChiTribKane/status/5147...9578368/photo/1
  16. It's supposed to rain all day in NY tomorrow. Perfect.
  17. Tigers 87-70 Royals 86-71 A's down 1-0, 3rd. If the A's lose, they're tied with KC. If the WC is a tie with the A's, they would host the Tigers, and travel to KC. I'm definitely rooting for the Royals to win the division and the Tigers to lose in Oakland.
  18. If you told me before the season that Scott Carroll would get 126 major league innings this season, I would have thought the Sox lost 100. He did pretty well this season.
  19. Tough call for Ausmus. Didn't work out. Fun inning.
  20. Reds and Marlins win. The 10th or 11th pick next year looks probable.
  21. If the Sox lose, the season series will be 9-9. They were also 9-9 against the Twins and Indians, and lost the 19th game to both. 5-10 against the Royals. I don't think 9-10 is in the cards for all four.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 08:18 PM) Did we announce a pitcher yet for Thursday Post #3
  23. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 07:56 PM) Felix's ERA now at 2.34... Sale leads AL at 2.20 Wow, Felix got torched in a must win game. Probably not a unanimous Cy, but he and Kluber are the clear 1-2. Sale will get most of the 3rd place votes, I would think.
  24. Here's what's left: Price-Carroll Verlander-Sale Shields- Quintana Guthrie- Noesi Duffy- Danks Ventura- Bassitt
