GT 5/5/13 Sox @ Burger Royal 1:10 pm
The Sox are just a team filling out other teams' schedules. They may win. They may lose. It just doesn't matter. Irrelevant team. So don't sweat this. Because it doesn't matter.

Peavy Out
Sale starting Monday They could probably go Santiago on Tuesday, and Erik Johnson on Wednesday. But guess what? They're expecting rain on Wednesday in New York. Keeps getting better.

Peavy Out
QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2013 -> 09:00 PM) So stupid, just call up someone instead of piling on the pitches for Santiago. I wonder if that's just something they're saying until they actually have to make a decision--which could still be a minor leaguer. Although I don't know who would be on target to start-- maybe Jason Berken gets a spot start.

Peavy Out
Doesn't sound like Peavy is likely to pitch Monday. Ventura said something like he'll have to have a real good day on Sunday. Considering he's probably going to be on the trade market in a couple months, I bet they hold off until New York or even next weekend.

Sox @ Royals
QUOTE (Jake @ May 4, 2013 -> 08:27 PM) Lots of doom and gloom about losing to a guy who hasn't lost for 16 starts following a series win against Texas, a better team than the one we're playing now. I'm going to let things play out. My heart is telling me to give it more time. My brain is telling me the Sox are just short on talent and too banged up.

Sox @ Royals
It would be interesting to see the Sox in the spoiler role against the Royals the last four games of the season.

Sox @ Royals
Simon Castro threw 7 shutout innings for Charlotte. 2 hits, 0 bb, 6 k. Tigers and Sox AAA teams are both 8-21. Killin' it.

5/4 games
It seems wrong you can give up two homers, but only 1 earned run. But thems the rules.

Truthfully, I'm shocked how bad Keppinger has been.

I guess they don't really have a pinch hitter option here, do they?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 4, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) This team needs a vocal leader to start calling out some of these assholes I'm not even sure how prevalent that sort of thing is around baseball anymore. Everyone wants to get along, play the game, and go home.

5/4 games
Nice job by the Barons bullpen in the suspended game. No hits. 1 bb, 10 k in 5.2. Webb struck out 3 in his inning.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 4, 2013 -> 07:11 PM) He hasn't been stellar there either. Wise is good in CF. Then it's just another hole on a sub-par team.

Sox @ Royals
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2013 -> 07:09 PM) Detroit 6-0 over Houston and threatening to go 5 1/2 games up. Fernandez (Marlins) bedazzling the Phillies as he and Harvey continue to impress. The Tigers are on their way to mid to high 90's wins. The Sox goal, and the rest of the division's goal should be 89 wins and ignore standings.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 4, 2013 -> 07:04 PM) If a player tells you he would be more comfortable in LF, most managers would do the same thing. After seeing that he sucks in left, it's the manager's job to keep him in CF. I mean, that's his position. If he's going to be an everyday player, he should have one position. This isn't 1B/DH. CF is too important not to keep it consistent.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 4, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) Quit asking to play LF, dumbass Ventura's decision.

Sox @ Royals
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 4, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) Also helping KC is they get to play the Sox 18 times, although to be fair the Sox lead the season series, 2-1, entering this weekend's set. 19. No more season series ties.

Buddy bell was just on with Rongey saying Danks will probably make four rehab starts. Of course I take this as Bell has no idea.
