  1. Most surprising - Charlie Haegar and his run for the Cy Young Award finnishing with a 24-6 record. Most Dissapointing - A.J. Pierzynski who will suddenly find his inner nice guy and lose his competitive edge. X-Factor - Jay Marriotti
  2. I am in again, I think I was in league 2 the last couple of years.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) # of games the White Sox lost in 2006 due to Ozuna's outfield defense Both of which are
  4. Does anyone know if it is possible that another team could select Gio in the ruleV draft?
  5. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) Thats bulls***. If I was the GM I know I could have gotten Pelfrey, Heilman and Milledge for Garcia. Well you would be a lousy GM then, I would have gotten all that plus Figgins and Santana for Garcia.
  6. QUOTE(ptatc @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) This is a good point. I wonder if the high price for pitching actually hurt this deal. No one wanted to trade for Freddy knowing he will command at 12-15 mil to resign based on what Lilly recived. Exactlly, Why give up top prospects and then pay 12 mil a year to resign a pitcher when you can spend the money on a free agent and keep the players. I think most GM's would rather risk their cash then their prospects.
  7. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) Pardon me? Sorry but with all these posts about Pods OBP being to low to lead off added to several other posts in many threads about guys like Figgins, Crawford and Rollins OBP's being to low. I was begining to think we were the only team with out a .400 OBP guy at the top of the order. Hell in 2005 Ichiro's OBP was only .350, it seems like that woudn't have been good enough for many here. I don't mean for any of this to be defending Pods, but until a better option comes around he is what we got.
  8. I can't Believe the Sox will be the only team with someone who can't get on base 40% of the time in the lead off spot. Damn this sucks.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) That was only a rumor. In fact, they did maintain draft pick compensation for Free Agent losses in the new CBA, although they decreased the value somewhat. Here is a summary of the changes according to Baseball America. Thanks for the info.
  10. I see a lot of people are talking about draft pick compensation. I thought that with the new CBA there was not going to be any compensation anymore. Can anyone clarify this?
  11. The Blue Jays sign Royce Clayton for 1.5 million. I wonder how the Big Hurt will like that.
  12. I get the feeling that Ozzie isn't thrilled with Bmac so Kenny is looking at Santana to make Bmac expendable. I would have no problem seeing Bmac sent to the D-rays for Crawford but I think TB will be looking for a package that is at least the equivilant of what the Yanks got for Sheffield.
  13. Wow, 16 pages on what I see as a ho-hum trade. I really don't see the Sox any better or worse off after this deal.
  14. Mets A's Tigers Cards Padres Phillies Yanks Twins
  15. The NL will only have one 90 win team this year. Even with the AL domination of inter league play that just seems odd.
  16. I think you have to take the chance that he will rebound and get an extension done. There just isn't enough good starting pitching out there to let him go.
  17. The Sox will next be eliminated from post season contention on Sept. 20th 2011. Blind optimism is what September is for if my team is in contention.
  18. I have to cheer for the Tigers, I can't stand the Twins.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) And you know its gonna be some cigarette smoking alcoholic. Woooo 116 here I come.
  20. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) 3 walks and a HBP works for me. Walks just clog up the bases.
  21. I miss hearing George Kell and Al Kaline. I always thought they were a good team.
  22. Hmmm, Both of them were born on Jan. 28, 1974.
